I recommend Arlec ones from Bunnings over these

I agree I've installed the Arlec ones very happy .

Price have gone up, I bought this for $49 not that long ago.

      • Same

    • Why?

    • Mercator owns Arlec and these are a more cost effective downlight + plug base package…

I thought it's the other way around Arlec owns Mercator - but rep has a point. It is slightly cheaper this way.

I personally hate these kinds of flat faced downlights but I guess you can't argue about the price.

        • You are correct, my bad. Arlec own Mercator. Same downlight diferent bradning I'd imagine.

      • Not sure I'd buy Luce Bella. I've had their LED globes consistently break in very short periods of time with limited use.

I hear ya. Luca Bella are hit and miss but I found their downlights on par with Arlec.

Luce Bella are garbage.Bought a house and all came installed with them (new)…most of them stopped working after 1 year

Your work out $6 cheaper for the 10 except:
Your ones are 70mm (an almost obsolete size) whereas my linked ones are 92mm which are more common. Moreover with Bunnings ones you have peace of mind returns.
You can buy them in lots of 5 and if you ever needed replacement you'd be able to source the exact same item for aesthetic reasons.
Overall I see no incentive to buy from you. Drop the price by say $20 and that's a whole different proposition.

        • My apologies… They are 90mm downlights that I am offering. I have added the incorrect spec to the deal

          • +1

@AlstraLighting: Your description still mentions 70mm:

            Suit Cut-Out Size 70mm

            • @bio: @bio thank you all fixed up.

I'd prefer 90mm downlights over the 70mm ones, and the ad seems to not even know which ones these are!

    • Rep has changed description. Now they are 90mm not 70mm

  • Shipping is killing the deal. Is there any warranty?

  • I installed some Emerald Planet LED downlights to replace a couple of our 50W MR16 downlights so that I could compare and decide if I should replace them all and have to say I wasn’t impressed.

Sure they are energy efficient but they were not quite as bright as the older halogen downlights but worse still was their CRI was only 80-85% so they made all the colours in the house look washed out which if you have timber floor boards gives the house a very dull look.

Are there any LEDs that are equivalent to halogen downlights not just in light output BUT also in CRI?
