Almost was going to redeem Menulog offer but terms say only valid on delivery orders. They charge a min $2 service fee and largely $5+ delivery fees which cashback isn't eligible on. Excludes any purchases made with gift cards. Excludes purchases made on Menulog app. No thanks.

    • +1

I wonder when they changed the T&C to be only valid for delivery orders. It wasn't like that from the start. That's a big letdown.

      • Yeah I was going to pickup to avoid all the fees, but can't do that unfortunately :/

        • -1

I just picked order and it has tracked well. Not sure where are you seeing on delivery orders only?

Edit - yes noticed delivery orders only? If it has been tracked for me (showing $10), do you reckon it will be rejected?
          OP should update post.

          • @amsaini15: Says it twice here

It will still track but will end up declined somewhere between 1-75 days.

            • @decc0: Oh well. If you look at list of all Discounts on computer, it doesn't say there. I agree it says in Dos section.
With Delivery only it's a rubbish deal because Menulog has $5 off on Delivered by restaurants (pickup) anyways. With service fees and delivery fees, you can only get benefit of $3-$4.
Good trick by shopback. Well done.
Dealbot should have mentioned it in original post. He always does a great job.

              • @amsaini15: Yeah although it's not exactly a trick by Shopback, it's a trick by Menulog and I wouldn't be surprised if they specially put that clause in for this deal knowing they'd catch someone out.

                • @decc0: Would have been nice if it was mentioned in the OzBargain deal description. Similar to mentioning for eBay no codes are permitted

I'm sure several people have ordered pickup and will be stung on this. Just saying "valid for Orders Placed Between 6pm and 11.59pm" most people would assume there's no difference between pickup and delivery.

                  • @harthagan: I agree with you. Dealbot should have mentioned in the description.
And generally people do mention conditions of the offer.

                  • @harthagan: If you picked up, you wouldn’t have lost much and just supported a local business. Especially so if you used a voucher on top.

Deal for delivery only is fair as that goes to partially pay for this promo. Your cashback will eventually be rejected.

                    • @fuzor: You're a tool mate. None of these deals or cashback effect what the restaurant gets to keep.

And we couldnt use codes if you were hoping for the cashback deal, so that's $5 extra in menulogs pocket. You probably think that's fair too!

                      • @harthagan: They're offering you a small discount and free delivery through this promo. You interpreted it as free food so we're gonna be a different pages.

  • is it only aus stock or also international stock that show up on ebayAU?

    • Should be anything on eBay au apart from exclusions listed above

  • Ok so when I go to check out it says do you want to use your eBay plus coupon for an additional 5% off…
I know it says no vouchers so will that void it if I use it or not

    • +3

      Don't use it.

    • This has been answered multiple times.

  • +1

My last attempt at using a ShopBack eBay deal ended up with it being rejected months later because I paid using gift cards - there was nothing in the TOC saying I couldn't

    • +2

You sure it wasn't a discount auto applied at checkout ?
Never had a problem paying with gift card balance

      • yeah I just checked - I think I used one of those $5 "sorry your parcel was late" from eBay plus.
I guess that invalidated it. Oh well.

        • That is not a GC.

  • How long do you guys find it usually takes for eBay to track? Clicked through ~1 hr ago

    • +1

Shopback says it can take up to 7 days for eBay purchases to track. Don't know about you but that seems awfully long to me.

    • +1

      Next day usually

    • +1

      Within 2 days normally.

    • Literally forever

    • About 20-24hrs

  • If I make an offer on an item will the cash back still apply assuming it's accepted before 12am est

    • eBay's T&C for Shopback

Items with Best offer accepted prices and Auctions are NOT eligible for cashback.

  • What if the seller makes me an offer during the promotion period? They made an offer on a watched item at 6pm

    • That just happened to me, and seeing what would happen if I countered.

  • +7

Very misleading saying 50% cashback on menulog orders when it's not even possible.

All restaurants have minimum orders for delivery which are over $20, not to mention the delivery fees on top. At best you will get $10 off a $30 delivery order for a 33% cashback

  • +2

Just a note that a previous deal for eBay from Shopback excluded "Best Offer" explicitly in the T&C's, so YMMV whether this one is included. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/668213

    T&C's:
Items with Best Offer accepted prices and Auctions are NOT eligible for Cashback.

    • Just seen the same applies in the T's and C's.

It does not include best offer or auctions

  • Are there any genuine n95 masks i can buy off ebay?

  • I accidentally paid using old card details. Pretty sure my order will not go through. Does anybody know if there is a way to change payment details after making an order?

  • Does Shopback honour the CB if i buy international stock that show up on ebayAU and in USD?

    • yes

  • Anyone know how to remove an automatically applied coupon code?
I'm trying to check out with a cable from Baseus USB-C to USB-A Cable & it applies the coupon code without being able to remove it. When I untick it in the checkout, it stays & a red box comes up with "We ran into a problem. Please try again" → unfortunately with the coupon bing stuck :-/

    • Update, all good: Had to wait for the coupon code to expire at 11:30pm, and then purchase via ShopBack (before deal expired at midnight).

      • +1

        Smart.

  • +2

Only just scraped an order in! Checked out a last minute order at 11:55 pm, but GC payment not processed by eBay until 11:58. Phew, that was a close one :-).

    • $102 order

      2 items?

      • Yep

        One item ~$70 another ~$30

My eBay bonus cashback is not tracked (although the normal rate cashback is tracked). Any shopback rep here who can help?

    • +1

      me too

      • +1

        I have the same problem.

Does your order timestamp fall outside 31/01/2022?

  • $10 tracked on a $34 item, indicating it didn't necessarily need to be $36.36.
It was a buy it now item, the seller wasn't a big retailer, and the receipts show no GST.

    • Same, $10 tracked for $35 item. I was assuming getting only $9.5 but got full $10 ;)

  • Mine tracked but will be invalid now that the seller has cancelled the order. Reason given "Buyer asked to cancel". EBay and their sellers are full of cr@p.

    • Which seller? Name and shame!

  • My $10 CB tracked in just over 12 hrs. Made a $40 purchase using GCs.

  • +2

The tracking is messed up. I made an order for 3 items and it only tracked 2 items at 30%. 3rd item didn't track.

I made an order 10 hours earlier for the $2 bonus deal but that tracking email didn't come through until after the tracking email for this deals purchase made much later.

  • +1

mine did not tracked. both purchases about 10:30 and 11:30pm

  • +1

My ebay purchase was made at 11:56pm, but registered on SB's website at 11:59, but I only received a small amount cashback, not $10, have contacted them and haven't received a response.
