Says customers living in eligible WA Postcodes only, but the real MVP in the comments says you can just enter a WA post cost to get to the order page then punch in your real address. YMMV.

I ported from Telstra to Optus - whole process took less than 10 minutes.

    Optus is already active.

Surprisingly Optus has double the speed in my area with Speedtests… Pleasantly surprised.

Successful port-in from BOOST SIM to Optus eSIM with a VIC address after the postcode check. Thanks OP!

    • Was it eSim? Or they will send you a simcard?

  • Headsup to anyone who is signing up to a fake WA address.. keep in mind that Optus likely needs to run a credit check on you to create the service and Credit Score agencies update your 'residential address' to the one on the most recent credit application.. so be careful as you can't get rid of the address once it's on there and it might come back to complicate things if you apply for a loan etc and they want to know your address/res history to see you're stable.

Learn from me as once I used a postal address as the res address for telstra and suddenly my credit files were updated to say I lived in another state/ I could not delete it.

They aren't using a fake address, just a fake postcode to get past the splash screen.

  • Thanks OP!

  • Thanks! I have been tempted to move from Woolworths to Boost - but my reception is terrible (at the very edge of metro in WA) at my house and as they are both under Telstra I figured one wouldn't be much better than the other.

Here is hoping Optus is better if not I will just move to boost, having 5g and wifi calling will potentially fix my issues anyway.

  • Does anyone know when this offer expires ?

    • In the local paper it said expires 28/2/22

  • Has anyone tried if typing WA address works with a physical sim? I live in VIC and phone doesn’t support esim

  • +1

Physical sim works as well ( QLD ), put the fake WA post code, put the real address on the rest, and got my physical just now, ported and activated no sweat :)

  • As an existing Optus user, anyone was able to move to prepaid and jump on this deal?

Ordered on Thursday and SIM arrived and acticated today.
Managed to port over from Boost Prepaid almost instantly.

As mentioned, pop in WA postcode 6000 and use your real address after that.
I am in Sydney and worked fine. They really should just open this deal up to the rest of Australia.

I have to say that Optus is slower by far, Speedtest at home with Boost (Telstra full network) I was averaging 350mbps compared to about 160mbps with Optus.
Doesn't matter to me as I work from home and you'd be hard pressed to notice a difference when just streaming movies/shows.

I'll re-evaluate in 12 months and see what's out there but happy for this deal :)

    • Feels like a celebrity moment - Love your work on Ausdroid Neerav :)

  • Everything except for 64GB 12 mini's is now Out of Stock

  • Is this 5G service only limited to WA areas? even though you can get the order through, you are still limited to 4g service tower outside of WA.

    • It’s access to Optus 5G network wherever available in Australia. I’m in Brisbane and got this deal and have 5G service

  • Thanks a lot for posting this deal. I didn't want to but I had to come off prepaid in order to hook up my Apple watch to LTE and the price of postpaid plans was making me sad. This deal definitely took the edge off the move! Thanks :-)

  • Ordered my sim 2 weeks ago and I'm yet to receive it. In in Vic. Anyone have suggestions of what I can do from here?

    • Did Optus send you email confirmation that the SIMs have been dispatched? Tracking?

      • I called them and on their end there's a delay with StarTrack. I wonder if I can go in store and just grab a sim and see if they will honour the deal?
