Good price, it's been at $1400 before and stock went quickly

    • +1

And expired now or sold out, price went back to $1499.

    • +1

Tech stock up 26% in the month on January. its likely to hit 50% soon… that's more stock from last year… things may improve sooner then everyone thinks

  • +3

    I'll hodl

    • +2

      Same HODL.

    • -3

      for what? integrated graphics?

      • +2

it's been over a year and still well over RRP, the prices will drop as supply / demand issues work themselves out.
If you have a card and can make do using FSR / NIS then do that for the moment

        • +1

          @sraven373

supply / demand issues work themselves out.

Suppliers can easily break this equation in the name of pandemic

        • +2

Crypto went up overnight, mining ramping up. The price is just gonna get worse.

This is a dip, might as well get them before they sold out.

          • @[Deactivated]: No it doesn't, regardless of whether it goes up, only slightly, it doesn't matter, as more and more people now have gotten their hands on the GPU in the last 2 yrs.

            • +2

@kml22: Greedy miners will keep expanding their rig, esp if ETH 2.0 gets delayed further.

I only have 1 GPU so don't blame me.

              • +1

@[Deactivated]: Yes, the delay is something the miners will have to risk, either they buy more GPU due to the delay or wait it out for ETH 2.0, which is not too far away. Miners will hold off buying any GPU is the smart things to do atm, which is better for us gamer.

                • +2

@kml22: Please get serious… any/every miner that's well past ROI, will remain buying & adding cards to their rig until 2.0 & even after no doubt about that… isn't the first time in past 2yr we've seen a dip in prices only to be followed by increase..

                  • @XCOOKIEMONSTAX: Regardless, I'm holding, I can't see GPU prices will go back up from here, as supply improved and more and more people has already got their overpriced GPU already. I'm HODL.

                • +2

@kml22: Never listen to gamers that think they know what the miners will do.

                  Look at the data.

@Zorlin: They'll be $40,000 ea by the time they hit the open market.

                      • +1

@rektrading: who cares? the point is that the majority of ETH hashrate will soon be ASICs, not GPUs, and it's likely a huge chunk already is.

                        • @Zorlin: I don't have access to the GPU vs ASIC hashrate distribution.

What I do know is high spec GPU are easier to get than the latest ASIC. The ASIC supply is controlled by the factory while GPU can be bought from the 1000s of shops around the world.

                          • @rektrading: once again, who cares? the big ASIC farms will eat the market, GPU mining will still be unprofitable as a result. dusts hands

                            • @Zorlin: Miners like HUT8 and Hive don't care. They use both ASIC and GPU miners.

The mining companies are taking out loans to buy up as many ASIC and GPU they can get their hands on.

          • +1

@[Deactivated]: Hehehe, you love a GPU cyrpto hodl comment. I have you comment on all GPU posts. Speaking of which, I'm flipping my 2070 and want to get a card for 1440p gaming and run it during the day for mining from the solar: am I aiming for 3060 ti? Bought some more ADA and DOT in this dip last week

            • +1

@tnarg: Hah, I also bought ADA and DOT as well, what are the odds.

            • +1

@tnarg: ADA and DOt were so cheap. +8% and +9% 24H.

        • Yes, but could be another year.
This time last year I said it would be at least another year, few agreed. My suppliers think generally will be an issue through most of 2022.

      • Hodl for intel gpus maybe

            • @Budju: I am happy to shill you some ETF or stonks if you like.

    • +2

Hodl too, com'on down down down more!

  • +11

Don't listen to these Hodl crew…. They been holding since 3070s were under $1k. Those who were smart have already paid off the card. Even sold a used 3070 for $1900 at the peak on ebay.

Eventually a broken clock will be right but that sure is some blue balls for holding. They will be celebrating buying at msrp when the card is like 2 years old Lmao.

    • +3

Recup some costs via mining or flipping, you're exactly right, the true Ozb way…

      • -1

I made at least $9600 just flipping the techfast 3080 FHR gainwards alone.

Rocking 3090 and playing games at the best level. Something these Hodl crew can only dream of

        • -3

The best way was to mine on them and sold them at higher prices,
those 3080 Phantom FHR still selling between $2200 and $2600 with purchase price of $1788.

          Flipping only is not enough.

HODL crew can enjoy 3050 with their budget. Or they can buy our 3080 at $800 after we spent at least 5 years mining on it.

    • +5

New GPUs are guaranteed out later this year. With FSR and DLSS (if you have a 2000 series card) you’d be silly to run out and buy an over a year old card for significantly above msrp right now. Only exception would be if your gpu breaks.

    • +4

I can say the same thing "Don't listen to those who encourage you to buy overpriced GPU", because they themselves bought it at ripped off prices.

    • +3

The holdr only got $500-$800 budget, and they want 3080 not 3060. Even 3080 at $1139 they still shout HODL.

      They basically TROLL!!

  • +3

Ordered one, I think I will bet on price drop within a year with this model so I can claim through price protection with 28 Degrees lol

    • Folded as well on OC one. Time to replace the 1060 which has served well but really struggles now. Price protection will at least act as an insurance buffer for the next year.

    • lol that's awesome

you could buy a stack and flip them on for pretty much the same price and wait to claim price protection

      • Yeah don't think the policies work like that. Good idea though.

  • Will my Corsair 650W semi-modular gold PSU support this?

    • +1

650 in 99% of builds should be fine for 3070ti

  • -1

Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3070 Ti EAGLE 8G Video Card $1379

    ROI 645 days mining Ethash.
The projected profitability at the current price is $462 by Dec 31 2022.

    • Based on my calculation @60 mh/s it should be $1400 in 12 months, before electricity.

      • I'm looking at 55Mh/s @ 190W. How are you getting 60Mh/s?

        • +2

          Trex 24.8, 975 cclock and 10550 mclock, 165W, LHR 74.5.

          EVGA btw.

    • +1

Not sure where you are mining but that's not even close. very easy to get 57+ mh on 3070tis most cards sit around 59-60

      • +1

        55Mh/s with no tweaking.

        • +2

Tweaking is a must, lower the power consumption, higher hash rate, and sometime lower vram temp. Keep it under 90c if you can.96-98c is max.

  • If $500 might consider

    • +4

      have a sweet dream baby

    • +1

      MSRP was 599 USD

      • +1

USD to AUD is 1.4x multiplier, not parity.

      • +2

So $500 AUD would be a good price!

  • +13

I just love seeing miners freaking out because their GPU which they've bought 200-300% over the RRP, is now dropping in value fast, and they're encouraging people to buy these overprice GPU to make themselves feel better, pathetic, you're not helping fellows gamer in any way.

      • +7

        wasted on games

Games are a waste of time only so much as books, movies, TV shows, sports etc are a waste of time…

      • +7

So you see waisting electricity to make money 'productivity'?

        Right….

        • -8

Miners convert electrical energy to stored energy. The only wastage is the heat.

          • @rektrading: Ah, I see. You've bought btc/eth and the Kool-Aid to go with it.

            • -3

              @Zorlin: 🍊 💊 is easier to swallow with a 🥃 💦.

    • +4

Lol anyone smart paid off their GPU's months ago. A 3070 at 1500 would have taken 6 months to pay off.
I got in late and have paid mine off months ago.

      • +3

Even after you pay off your capital gain tax from mining and electricity bill? you do pay tax right?

        • +3

yeah in 3070 peak they were doing $8 a day. For a very long period did $6

          • @hessels92: 3080 doing $15 a day at early 2021.

        • +1

that depends which country the rig is located.

  • +4

keep on holding cuckolds…prices should be decreasing more once nvidia is done refreshing its vanilla lineup, amd refreshing also and intel gpus to the market…

  • I only play Dota2, do I need a dedicated GPU or integrated gpu will do?

    • the latest ryzen G series is sufficient for low settings 1080p/144hz

if you are playing competitive you'd want low settings anyway

    • you will need a dedicated GPU unless you want to play on the lowest possible graphics settings. I managed to get around 70fps on the i5-11500 with everything turned down.

even an old 750ti is still much better though

  • I'm still hodl with my gtx 1060 from internship

  • +3

Ha I see the mining crew are representing today.
    Legends in their own lunchbox.

    • I'm here for the 🍿.

      • …and the trolling.

        • -1

          Wanna share 🍿. I got plenty on 🥒 🕯️.

    • +3

It's funny you say that. I am a gamer who just mines on his gaming pc. Helped me have a top tier system when previously I always was a 1060-2060 tier.

    • looks like we have a rebound in crypto so they're happy lol

    • I represent non-LHR miners. very happy looking forward to $100k btc and $10k ETH.

  • +2

    Thanks OP, grabbed one =)

    • Good on you, next week it will drop by another $100.

      • Who cares if it drops by $100 next week?

They can mine the difference and pay off the whole cost down the track.

        • The only weakness of mining is the time, the loss of time past means loss of revenue. The sooner they start mining the more revenue they make. Sadly we cannot rewind time.

          Be kind rewind :p

      • +2

It may, but looking at the prices atm its mostly over $1800. And my 1080ti is dying, So looking at the saving atm around $400 I'm happy with it. All prices will drop eventually.

EDIT: I am not even using this for Mining, its just for my personalo gaming PC. Even looking at FB market, the prices are stupid, I was this close to getting a 2nd hand 2080ti STRIX for $1300, still a good deal considering the 3070ti was $1800+, then this deal came up.

  • This price is complete insanity still but still it looks like a decent deal. The world we live in.

  • You've got to wonder if an 8 GB GPU is particularly future-proof.

    • +2

I've being gaming and building gaming pcs since 2001. Trust me there is no such thing as "future proof".

I predict 8GB will be the new 4GB in 1 or 2 years from now.

      • +1

Sure, but it’d be crazy if at the time, the 3070 Ti chokes on newer titles not due to its processing power, but because Nvidia denied it even the modest bump up to 10 GB.

  • +1

    annddd ALL GONE

    • +2

Of course, it's sold out. It was a good price.

    • get the OC version one for $20 more?

      • Yes OC version has better thermal for peanuts lunch money. It would be the way to go.
