GIGABYTE Radeon RX 6600 XT EAGLE 8GD Video Card $729 Delivered (Free VIC C&C) @ BPCTech

620

Prices are finally sliding, but this card is usually priced higher than the rest. Great news for AMD fans.

FSR doesn't seem as good as DLSS, but RSR will hopefully fill the gap. Looks like a good deal for those who don't need DLSS or RTX.

This should best both 2060 & 3060 in raster, as cheap as the lowest 3060 in recent memory.

Spewing my money is going down the drain. Paid $829 at launch for the MSI Gaming X card.

Best not to look at deals after a purchase haha. You've had it for a few months, better to pay more but be actually able to game than to wait for a cheaper price, its always the case to some degree.

I brought a 3060 for $860, a 6600xt would have been better and cheaper but most models won't fit in my velka 5, just gotta back yourself, pay what it's worth at the time and have no regrets, gaming isn't exactly a frugal hobby.

True, the most money saved is not buying a product cheaper, but not buying it at all

        • My Radeon 7870 can attest to that

    • +3

Release date was 6 months ago, that's 6 months extra having the card and using it.

Would you really hold 6 months to save $100 ?

    • Buy first, regret later.

Very good price (yes in current market)…shouldn't have pulled the trigger on the 3060 mini and got this..lol oh well

Would be interested to hear the reasoning here.

    • I'm guessing you never bought one, and as a result never regretted?

    • +8

I don't. For example have an 6900XT on a VR racing sim PC. Amazing performance, cool quiet card, nearly no sim games use DLSS. Please don't fanboi. Most AMD cards are decent.

Lol funny comment right after I just said I rather this than the mini 3060 I got .. Better performance and way better cooling for about $30 more..

Also note the 3060 is my first ever nvidia card Ive purchased… I had a 1650S but it was a freebee I flipped for the 3060…my other card is the 5600XT and b4 that R9 270…before that all ATIs

      You on NVIDIA's payroll?

This might be a reasonable price, but man, I can't get over the fact that mid range cards have basically doubled its price over the last 4 years.

Let's hope Intel's card can help.

    • 100%…crazy stuff

  • BPC is fantastic, just keep these GPU deals coming, hope other retailers quickly follow and drop their prices too!

    I'm running a MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX II which has PCIE 3.0 X 16

The description of the GIGABYTE Radeon RX 6600 XT is PCIE 4.0 X16

However looking up some info on Google says the 6600XT is only running 8 lanes. Limiting performance for us PCIE 3.0 users.

2 Questions: What am I looking for to tell me how many lanes it is using ? (because it's not in the specs)
What card should I be aiming for as an upgrade over my RX 570 ?

I understand in this case (6600XT) the performance hit is minimal but for other cards (6500) the performance hit is big.

Techpowerup did a really good analysis on this:

      https://www.techpowerup.com/review/amd-radeon-rx-6600-xt-pci…

Looks like an average of about 1-2% loss going from PCIe 4.0 to PCIe 3.0.

You can check how many lanes are being used in GPU-z

PCIe lane issue: avoid 6500xt, and don't worry about any other card at all. Previous test have conclude that PCIe 3.0 x8 is good enough for 2080ti (same performance as 3070), so 6600xt being x8 is no issue.

what to upgrade over RX570: any card that's double the performance(and fit your budget) basically 6600xt is about just over double of rx570's performance, your choice would be: 2070 super or better(you can only get RTX 20xx second hand except 2060), 3060 or better, 6600xt or better.

      I upgraded my RX570 4GB to 6600XT 3-4 months ago for $719, only because I could and sold my 570 for $350.
I am planning to upgrade it again at the end of year, so it only cost me $369 for a year of double performance/vRam on the games that were struggling.

What should you upgrade depends on the games you plays, the resolution of your monitor and your budget.

      • Good god the GPU market is mental. In October 2018 I paid $229 for my 570 from PC Case Gear.

Managed to get this card for $600 a few months ago (sold my 1070 for $500) and gained double the performance for $100. Great little card for 1440p / UW

    • Is 1070 to 6600XT double the performance?

      • +1

Maybe a tad exaggerated but 50-75% better fps depending on the title

  • so many other options varying from an extra $20 to $50 more:

    https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B099Y4SYTK
    https://www.scorptec.com.au/product/graphics-cards/amd/91703…

It should be expected though…..with plenty of stocks and lower demand as the weak hands already paid a premium for it last year. Graphics card will only go down in price from now.

    • Hardware Unboxed's video showed that in terms of performance, there's very little difference between the 6600XT models.

I picked up the Sapphire version on the release date purely because of their history, and it was only $50 more than the cheapest available 6600XT.

Nice price, basically a slap in the face of those 3050s

It's better to get something with DLSS.

Finally bit the bullet after waiting months for prices to drop. Thanks OP!

  • price is back up to $799.

    • Thanks, noted

  • Price is back down to $749.

I'm tempted. anyone bought from BPC Tech before? Are they dodgy?

    • Late reply but my part arrived completely fine and works. Not dodgy from my own experience
