  • Is dealbot associated? I thought op usually upvote the deal.

    • -1

Thought dealbot mainly associate with Dell's deals? Maybe he is working hard now for another ebay sale?

  • Any good desktop pc deals here?

    • Yeah they even got none Legion Towers in their own website, please bring in the Legion desktop deals too.

  • Hopefully they will have something like the Dell eBay Inspiron i5 deal.

  • can't find where it states it starts tomorrow

  • The Lenovo Legion 5i Pro deal is a pretty damn good right? better than the ryzen 5800H deals we have seen of late?

    • It will depend on what you are looking for in a laptop. The 11800h is better in games thanks to bigger L3 cache, and performs better when provided with a lot of power. But it also scales the worse the less wattage it is provided, and have very lackluster off-wall run times compared to the 5800h.

      • For off-wall, how about for general browsing/video watching? doesn't the MUX switch make the 5i Pro a better option?

        • +3

all legion 5/5p/7 models this year come with a mux switch no matter if its the intel or amd variant.

Off-wall, no matter what you do, the amd version is better, it benchmarks better on battery power and have overall better battery life, this is not exclusive to lenovo, its a general trend across all laptops this year.

I know you said it have dropped compared to last month but is it me or is legion pricing only going up since last year? 2k for a legion 5 non pro 3060 with a 6 core cpu and 1080p panel. All the >2.5k 3070 deals dont come with 32gb ram anymore and 1.8k for a 3050ti that even with mux will get beaten heat to toe in games by one of those cheap 1.2k nitro 5 3060 deals. What happened to all the good 5800h+3060 L5P deals?

Like I dont usually recommend this years rog models due to a lack of mux, but the strix g15 with 5900HX, 2k165hz 100%P3 panel and 6800M 12gb (performance inbetween a 3070 and 3080) is also 'only' $2699 which I think may be better than the 2799$ L7 model for the people who is not put off with the lack of mux.

    • they have definitely gone up since last year. i bought my ideapad gaming 3 with ryzen 7 5800h, 16gb ram, 165hz 300 nits screen, 512gb nvme ssd and rtx 3060 last year for $1750-ish on a 20% off sale before black friday, which put retail price around $2199. a similar spec for the ideapad gaming 3 now is around $2799 before discounts. kinda wish i bought a legion instead.

As the owner of a Legion 7i, I can tell you that the screen on the Legion is super bright and super nice.

A lot of alternative brands let you down with crap monitors (Hey Dell, looking at you) or charge exorbitant extra charges for a good monitor (Hi again Dell).

Some of the ASUS laptops I looked at had awesome CPU and GPU, but very very ordinary monitors.

      • +1

I understand, but this particular model I linked have very good panels as well. It's also a 2k 165hz panel much like the L7, and trades a bit of screen real estate (16:10 vs 16:9) and I would persume some brightness for professional 100% DCI P3 colour coverage. I say it would end up on what you use it for. Just gaming the L7 is better as it is brighter and HDR certfied, if one wants to do photoshop or other work, the G15's panel is better

        • Good to hear they put a decent display on this one.

Originally I had been thinking I would get a Gigabyte A7 X1 which before all the discounting was excellent bang for buck.

However once I realised how crap the screen is, I gave it a wide berth. It's cooling isn't great either….

          https://www.amazon.com.au/Gigabyte-A7-X1-RyzenTM-5000/dp/B09…

          • @TheCandyMan2020: Yeah nah these gigabyte a7/a5 are rebadged clevo chasis and gigabyte put in the most budget panels in there, would be okay if it was like 800$ cheaper lol

  • Lenovo ebay sale is now getting more frequent, must be offloading all the 11th gen laptops asap, and ready for 12th gen

  • +2

Tempted but I might wait for 12th gen

    • Yep these prices still have a bit of wiggle room left in them.

  • i am looking for desktop as well

    • +1

Would not recommend getting a prebuilt gaming desktop from any OEM, whether it be dell, lenovo, hp or others. Many of them uses (esp dell) proprietory connectors among other things that makes it really hard to upgrade down the line, also, nearly all GPUs inside OEM machines are worse than AIB or reference gpus with bad heatsinks and fans, they also tend to cheap out on cpu cooling as well.

Just wait for a sale from one of the many local prebuilt deals.

is this one good for photoshop? ( i am not a perfectional user)

if not, do you have any recommendation? many thanks

        • +1

I would consider either this or this. Both will be faster at photoshop than the one you linked.

          • @Brrrrt: Thanks….
what if I can spend up to $1500, $1600….

should I upgrade CPU or Graphics card?

            • @bt123123: do you mean the lenovo pc or the ones I linked you?

            • +2

@bt123123: If all you need for a PC is photoshop. Upgrading the cpu should be a piority before gpu. Generally speaking, an 8 core cpu will go a long way in making photoshop faster.

              • @Brrrrt: any pc

                not limited to lenovo..

                many thanks

  • any pc

    not limited to lenovo..

    many thanks

6000 series CPU along with Nvidia TI cards coming soon

    • +1

Good luck getting much off RRP in the first couple of months !

      • My current laptop is dual core & 8 years old, I am in no rush.

  • Are there going be any discount on automotive spare parts

  • +2

What happened to those e15 deals for under $800

  • Any one that has 32GB ram?

  • +1

Any deals on the EDU site?

  • That price for the Legion 7i is quite decent tbh. Last deal went for 2629 which sold out in a day

    • There was cashback off that price too, worked out to be less than $2300

      • +1

Yeah :/ I ended up getting the AMD system with the 5800H and 3070 with 32gb of Ram for 3059 but with cash back it became $2630 which was quite an alright deal

        • +1

Yeah that sounds like a really good deal considering it was the AMD too

  • +4

Just in case anyone is looking just placed an order for a Legion 5 Pro AMD RTX 3060 for $2,024.25 from Lenovo directly: LENGAMING code at checkout.

Also extra 10% off Lenovo education site with code SCHOOLISBACK, but found buying from the regular site with LENGAMING was a better deal. Hope this helps someone.

Edit: paid a bit extra for the Storm Grey version since it was going to ship faster, I think the regular is a bit less.

    • Good tips, however it's so frustrating that they don't have 32GB RAM for intel ones.

    • +1

Hey solidweiner, thanks for the info. I was going to place an order at education store but your code seems a better option. Did you get a delivery notification? Also, when does Lenovo charge to the credit card, is it when ordering or when shipping begins?

      • +2

Yeah, I contacted the chat assistant who said it was when shipping occurs - but then my CC got charged an hour later. 🤷

    • dumb question here but how does that one compare to the 'Legion 5 15" AMD rtx 3060' going for $1,954.15?

  • I feel like i've been waiting forever for a sub$800 laptop with at least 8GB 256SSD i510 FHD screen??

There is one on ebay from store with tax invoice for $689 title Lenovo IdeaPad V14 14" Laptop 3020E 8GB 256GB W10H

If anyone can rec any, would be appreciated. I need x2.

    • Same, just waiting for Dell to come up with decent discount.

  • Is the 5i (intel i7/3060) worth getting over the Dell G15 (Ryzen 7/3060/$1839)?

    • +1

Do you have a monitor at home or plan to get one with the laptop?

If no to both, go with the 5i.

If yes, go with the G15.

G15 have a trash screen. But better CPU and is cheaper.

      • Thanks for your reply! I do have a external monitor at home.
I decided to just go with the 5i as I heard the G15 could have some overheating issues and I'm not too fussed about the CPU difference.

  • Thanks! this works for X1 series as well. Bought a X1 Carbon.

  • Is the 5i better than the 5 pro for gaming? Just wondering if it's worth spending the extra ~$170 pm the 5i.

  • For the Lenovo Legion 5, that has expandable memory correct?
    The specs sheet says:
    Max Memory[1]
    Up to 16GB DDR4-3200 offering
    Memory Slots
    Two DDR4 SO-DIMM slots, dual-channel capable

So would that be max of 16gb per slot * 2 slots

  • Legion 7i OOS

  • Bought the E15 and came here to post about it. Duplicate.

    Good deal.
