  • For me, sleeping with this grade of fan is no-go. After buying a decent one i can actually have it in the room at night. Totally worth it even though it costs much more. Maybe it'll pay for itself eventually due to not needing the air con on.

OTOH, sign up to kogan black cc and get 3 decent fans for nix.

    • Get a ceiling fan if you can. So much better for sleeping as you get steady gentle airflow. (or any room really)

Is it the noise that bother you with this one?

      • Yep. The noise

Sometimes the white noise provided by a fan is nice for sleeping.

          • @b-radicool: All the time for me.

@studentl0an: Yeah I use the big w equivalent and the white noise is a must for me now to get to sleeping.

If it's too quiet it feels a bit eerie but not impossible to get to sleep.

@b-radicool: I use fan just for that .., cant sleep with out fan's noice

Some people do need noise for their tinnitus lol

  • I had a couple of these fans running nearly 4-5 months straight.. I think it's our of stock in most places though

Has anyone tried the high velocity one?

Noisy but works great haven’t been using air conditioner last few nights in Nth Qld

      • Cool. I might try one. Cheers.

It’s way to noisy and blows to strong to sleep to.

Wait even on the lowest speed?

Maybe then try a usb fan.

Plenty of these fans for free on the side of the road.

      A lot have seized motors.

    • Free electrocution too from damaged parts.

I;ve tried a lot of fans given i dont have central AC. Unfortunately these cheap fans just dont put out enough air to feel from more than 30-40cm away so its just not worth the effort.

    • I personally use it at my computer and in bed.

I just rotate the fan 90 degrees depending on what I'm using.. Big help for me when it's blazing hot some days and is a nice gentle white noise when I sleep.

When it's above 35c only aircon can cool down a room.

    • +3

Seems like an arbitrary number that maybe is only relevant for you?

Fans don't cool a room anyway. They cool us through convection and evaporation.

  • 40cm meaning the over all high or diameter of the blade?

    FANtastic deal, +1

    • You didn't upvote the deal though…
