With the announcement of Australia reopening its borders and other countries starting to do the same, Jetstar is putting on an 'overseas sale' with amazing deals to Bali, Thailand, Japan, Fiji and Hawaii.

Also most of the return flights are ~1.5 times the one way, so if you're after a trip, try a return ticket, as well as two one way tickets to see if you get a better price.

All flights include 7kg carry-on.

    You will have absolutely no problems finding covid cover for quarantine, cancellations , if someone at home gets covid etc etc.
    
    AHM and Insure and go were the cheapest for me I found and had similar levels of cover for flight cancellations for covid etc.
    $375 pp for 8 weeks.
    
    *The only caveat is government border closures, they will not cover this. So if DFAT says do not travel, no covid cover.
    
    As another warning, from my research NO CC complimentary insurance covers covid anything. They're different PDS'. However Amex does, but you have to book both flights with them.

  Return PCR or supervised RAT is not really too expensive in most countries.
  Insurance is the usual $1-300.
  
  Thus the main risks or extra costs are related to future changes of Govt policy/forced quarantine etc.

    If not open simply offer a flight credit and jack prices. In the event that somebody would like a refund make them wait in a 3 hr phone queue and hold it for 12-14 days.

Wouldn’t recommend Bali. You need to quarantine in Indonesia for a week at certified hotels which ends up costing at least $1,000 and then there are horror stories of people getting a false positive test at the end of the week and the hotels basically imprison you, make you pay for another week and won’t let you take another test to prove it’s a false positive.

  I’m Filipino but Damm compared Manila to Jakarta, jakarta has the worst traffic in the world if you ask me, probably on par with India lol and sorry I’ve been to Bali I don’t know what’s so good about the place. If you ask me Bali is over hyped and just a place where all the aussies go for a cheap paradise holiday I guess? I would rather go to Phuket lol

    Oh yeah. Also apparently if you are native Indonesians (or at least one of you are native), hotels won’t let you isolate together unless you are married. So if you weren’t married to your wife and tried to quarantine in Jakarta you would have to book 2 rooms and would cost twice as much.
    
    Thankfully they don’t enforce that for foreigners/bule.

no way would I be looking at booking any OS travel atm, no matter how "cheap" the price. Jakarta just shut to international travelers, so how soon before Bali does again? Plus all the cost and hoops to jump through to get to Bali, then take the chance you don't get it while over there….then whisked off to god knows where if you do….and no, it won't be some 5 star resort. Miss your flight and costs soaring, like many stuck in other countries like Fiji and Thailand……calling out for govt intervention because things took an "unexpected" turn and now they are facing huge costs, plus stuck in countries where the medical services are not the same as here.

after 2 years of no travel, I'm feeling little inclination to get on a crowded plane to a place that may have few open places of interest or even eat or enjoy - and after a friend got a flight and came back with COVID, I'm happy with virtual travel these days

e.g. places with stunning scenery or architecture are generally best viewed in the pix taken by professional photographers, perhaps with aerial drones, on perfect days with perfect light and stunning contrast of light and shade

for me the idea of spending days of discomfort in an effort to arrive at somewhere like Macchu Picchu - in order to see what I've already seen in beautiful pix - on a day that would probably be overcast, tiring, crowded, uncomfortable - no thanx
