old and too hot sandy bridge with old GF540M?
    still shitty 1366 x 768 @ 15" ??

    for 997?????

    no deal

I disagree, Whilst probably not the best gaming laptop its a very good entertainment lappy, especially with rarely seen built in TV tuner.
I7 2670, 8gb ram, GT540 will play HD content easy as pie.

      • On further inspection DS have up to 25% off all HP notebooks. Not bad!
http://dicksmith.com.au/product/XC7831/hp-pavilion-dv6-6027t… Better for gaming but only dual core.

        • will never buy 1366x768 @ more then 13"

      • OK
It has pretty good keyboard (unusual for toshiba) and pros as ram and usb 3.0.
Nice surface as well, good touchpad location.

But IMHO it doesn't cost 1K.
Especially now when Ivy Bridge almost here.

Everyone's always bagging 1366 by 768. What other displays are there?

It's a mighty fine question, but sure it is no deal, English.

    D'oh eth!

  • Its got good specs but the screen just seems to be a bit small to be a good deal. It has a tv tuner and 8gb RAM which is pretty wow. but obviously if you want this for gaming better to get a desktop and customise it yourself. and it doesnt look that cool at the very least. :P

  • The DV6 deals for 6135 and 6137 are pretty good! 6137 with Bluray and HD6770

    • Yep, and the 6770 is actually a decent gaming chip. The 6135TX for $747 is actually a really good deal. i7 quad core, 4GB RAM, 640GB HDD, 6770. No BluRay though.

      • I got one hp laptop (i7, 4gb ram, 320gb, 6770 17.3") for my gf friend during Havey normal 40% discount last year at around june/july. I got another 5% off from officework price match. It costs me around $565 for the whole laptop. The OW guy actually try to trick me by playing the price match policy. I think they are making loss selling at that price.
For blue ray, you can buy it around $100 from ebay.

  • Got this for $580 during the pc sale posted last year. But gave it away as a present so now I want one too…

You gave away a $600 laptop to a mate? What you up to this weekend, friend?
