Little Giant Multi-Use Ladder $229.99 @ Costco (Membership Required)

540

Little Giant Model 17 ladder.

Been eyeing for this to go on special. I picked up one at the Moorabbin Costco today. Their normal price is $299.99 so it's $70 off at the moment.

I think this is available at other stores since this is in-warehouse saving special.

Please note, this is quite heavy (approx 15kg).

Bought this last week because I needed it. It’s decent, but the work platform is necessary as the rungs are quite narrow.

    • Costco online says "with work platform"

      • +8

uhmmm. what are you doing, step ladder

      • Yes I get that, I’m just saying it’s less of an accessory and more of a necessity.

Costco has 30 day price guarantee. If you call your local store or walk in, they will refund the difference.

      • +1

Apparently has to be done at the counter, not over the phone

  • Great product. Bought it yesterday. Costco will refund the difference as long as the coupon is active.

Costco is a scam right? Dude pay us to buy groceries here lmao

Imagine if Woolies tried to pull that.

    • +6

I know right, they'll be out of business soon with that business model!

Got one this morning, the extra $20 off the price from when they last had it on sale convinced me to get one.

After playing with it this morning,
    - As already stated above, rungs are quite thin even compared to other cheapo ladders. I can see why they included the platform
    - More stable than other telescopic ladders, unlike the certa branded ones it doesn't flop around at full extension
    - Doesn't have a leveler and the one sold separately looks like a quick last minute design
    - It's not as heavy as you'd think, you can extend it to full length without lying it down. Was easy to chuck into my little hatchback
    - Great price but wish there was a longer version sold through Costco, it won't reach those 2nd story gutters

    • comes with platform?

      • +2

Yes, it's included with the ladder. So you save a further $99 from having to buy it elsewhere.

    • It's pretty heavy. If you just need a step ladder 90% of the time, I would just get a step ladder. They are much lighter and as the name suggests, has steps. Less tiring on your feet.

    • Anyone can recommend one for second story gutters?

      • +2

You want a 150kg extension ladder, dont cheap out and get a wobbly 100kg one. Being 5 meters off the ground is no place to save a few dollars. Something like this or this which is a bit shorter but also collapses down to 1.9m so its easier to transport and store.

        • Thanks for this. Do you also recommend getting one with a gutter hook as well?

          • +1

@dtrinh: Absolutely, you cant put a price on safety especially when 2 stories up. It's so easy to over extend when cleaning gutters by trying to save climbing down and moving the ladder as much.

I know someone just last year come off a ladder 2 stories up, he doesn't remember what happened but he was in a coma for 10 days and wasn't expected to make it. Check out Ladders Little Helper https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p81MkPUZpSM it's at Bunnings for about $50

      • You'll need the 26ft model to reach 2nd story gutters.

  • Got a little giant 3 step ladder and it is AMAZING!!!!

    • How much was that? Bunnings seems to stock them all expect that model.

  • +1

I've got the previous version of this ladder and have had it for a few years. It's excellent and have never had an issue with it. Not as light and comfortable to use as a stepladder (with the flatter steps), but wearing work boots I never noticed an issue (that little platform might help, but don't have it).

It does require some creativity on unlevel ground, but so much more versatile than any other ladder. Does the job of a bunch of different ladders. Sold my other ladder on Gummy.

No association, just helping out anyone on the fence re usability and quality.

Anyone with experience in BDSM, got any ideas with this? Trying to justify this to my GF as a valentine's day purchase! All I can think of is WWF's suitcase on the ladder sort of thing and she's not buying into that.

    • I think I know those abbreviations but I’m still not sure exactly what you mean…

      • Sorry my bad. Keep calling WWE by its old name. You don't know about a ladder match, or is it something else?

all I know about wrestling is that in nineteen ninety eight the undertaker threw mankind off hеll in a cell, and plummeted sixteen feet through an announcer’s table.

Ladder noob here… Anything better/any recommendations at Bunnings or is this worth venturing out to Costco for? Legit need a ladder to get up next to gutters to give em a regular clean.

    • +2

This is perfect for 1 story gutters, for 2nd story you'll need a 26ft but they're super heavy.

Ideally just get an extension ladder as they're lighter than these "multi" ladders.

      • I'm after a ladder just for inside - changing lightbulbs and smoke detectors etc - so need a light and compact latter that can be carried around my narrow hallways. Ceiling height is close to 4m. Any suggestions please?

ok, now its locked in place.

  • If spending this much for a ladder, wouldn’t it be better to buy the ladder from Bunnings?

  • Ideally, you want the "Leveller" edition of this ladder. The ratcheting legs are a game changer.

  • Thanks OP! Been waiting for this to come back on special after I missed the last discount by a week.

  • Was at Costco at auburn but stocks aren't in yet.

    • I am thinking to get one this afternoon from Auburn, anyone purchased one in the last few days?

      • Just went to Costco Auburn and got one - still $299.99
