Wow, nice price! If you can live without having an app for everything, this is a really high quality phone

Unofficially, though. Sensors, wifi and accelerometer currently don't work.

      • +1

        Wifi and accelerometer do work.
The issue is that voice calling/microphone doesn't work.

        • +3

          Ouch. That's even worse lol.

Good price, would have buy one if it does not use micro sim.

    • you can crop a normal sim and put it in there.

      • good idea. I think I saw a cheap $2 tool you can buy on eBay just for cutting a normal sim card to fit. If you don't like that idea you could always just go to your provider and ask for a micro sim. They should be more than happy to help.

  • this is even better than the vodafone 12 month plan deal for $319

    • +1

i got "friends & family" discount which makes it cheaper than this deal. 2ndly, i think $319 with a 12 month plan extra is still better than this one

      • The Voda clearance sold out pretty quickly though. Rep said something about a second shipment but I don't think it eventuated

    • This phone is not offered on Vodafone 12mth plan
      No online in any case.

      • there was an ozbargain deal start of the month

  • +6

For once the RRP is severely understated.

  • I have ordered one! Good price!

  • good price, but now days smart phone it is heading towards to….good to use it as a home phone.

  • Great phone, already have one though :)

  • Is the phone locked to a particular network?

  • Does it have a front camera for video chat?

    • +1

      yes

      • thanks

        • But it does not use video for 3G or skype calls. Just Google talk so far.

oh so tempted. Only if I didn't get a Focus a month ago.

  • I want it, anyone tell me if this os is fast or is there any lag? I know there are little apps but i love the design

    • +2

The OS is actually awesome once you get your head around the gestures. No lag at all, and really polished. But yeah, on the downside, essentially no apps.

In my books this is better than $199 for a Xperia Play locked to Telstra/850MHz band. http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/67902 And this is coming from an Xperia X10 owner.

Sydney folks: Apparently HN counts display models as stock, Martin Place has a display and nothing else, I've gone to Bondi Junction to get a cyan model and there is 1 more cyan.

  • Must be after Nokia just announced a $1.7 billion dollar loss in Q1 in 2012!

Knox City VIC had 4 Black left after myself & a fellow Ozbargainer bought 2 at 9am. Staff couldn't believe the price!

    • Stock at about 11 AM, my local stores:
      Hobart: 2 x pink
      Moonah: nothing
      Cambridge: 1 x cyan

  • Deal of the year?

  • grabbed one in country nsw
had 1 pink 1 black left
guy had to look up harveynorman.com.au to check the price

  • Did you notice the prototype N9 photo in the "Related Products" box?

I wanted to bring the price to just above $300 to claim back the GST. There are many choices and I ended up buying a GorillaPod for $17, expires 22 April. The staff could not believe that price either.

    • Thats actually a developer only version called the N950. It wasn't realeased to the public. Its exactly the same as the N9 but with a qwerty keyboard. I wanted one so bad http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nokia_N950

Paid nearly $700 for this when it came out (64GB) not disappointed, $288 is one of the best bargains I've seen.

  • Snapped up the last one at Fyshwick. While it was not a demo unit, it was an ex-return. Still went for it though - the guy had a surprised look on his face when I told him it was $288 (system said $593) and said it was pretty much cost price (maybe…)

Now to the task of converting my SIMs to microSIMs!

  • Got one as well. Really nice!! Thanks OP!

  • just got one,Burleigh Waters's HNorman has heaps left (post code 4226),get as soon as you can ;)

I'm just loving it … Bought from HN Coburg, vic and had a couple more.. This thing is so superbly built and beautiful. I made 4 iphone people envy today only !!

    • Agreed. I love the design and build of this phone, and I'm coming from an SGS2!
The OS is surprisingly good too. Too bad it's lacking in apps.

  • wow why is this phone seem so much more reduced - whilst SG2 is still so high.

  • Pretty much all gone now in Sydney. But one HN store said they might get more in. So best to check with you local HN store as the stock levels on their website are delayed by up to 24 hours.

  • Prob wont be the same price. Can't see it on website anymore….
