    Samsung Galaxy A22 5G 12GB Grey - Optus Prepaid (locked) @ $249 after $100 off at checkout.
    https://www.optus.com.au/prepaid/phones/samsung/galaxy-a22

  • The A22 4G probably needs to be reduced now since the A22 5G now has the same RRP at Samsung ($349 for each)

    • +1

      They are actually different phones:

4G = AMOLED HD Screen, Better Cameras, Slower Processor
5G = LCD but FHD Screen, Not as good Cameras, Slightly Faster Processor

Nah. Save your money and wait for a mid-range phone to go on sale.

    $289 is too much.

    • samsung tax bro

that $200 tcl 10 from jb blows this shit out of the water, too bad limited stock

      • +1

samsung tax has 3 years OS + 4 years security , right ?

    • What u mean?
This is super cheap for a flag ship

      • +4

a22 is 'flagship' like how a $20k hundai is 'flagship'

        • +2

          Whats hundai?

          • +3

@gimli: The A22 is on the opposite end of flagship. its akin to a row boat.

          • -3

@gimli: 'hundai' is the flagship your mum drives

            • +2

              @tonyjzx: ? My mums dead…

              • -3

@gimli: well we cant all be as fortunate as you

      • Not even a flagship in Optus' prepaid range.

  • Before buying check if this has NFC or not. The version released here did not, but the reviews mainly from overseas wont mention it.

You wont be able to use Google Pay , Samsung Pay etc.

A downgrade from the A20 which had NFC.

    • +2

      it doesnt

if you google the model number multiple sites says it lacks nfc

i'm of the opinion samsung removes some vital options so you move up to an a52 or whatever

at this point you may as well get the cheapest S20 4/128 5G model and stuff this cheap nonsense… I mean if you must have samsung, i know a lot of people who are flat out Samsung whores, note quite as bad as apple whores but still up there

      • I know people who think the only phones are either apple or samsung..

  • I'm looking at a new phone for the misses
6.5" or lower and under 200gram
    Decent battery
    AMOLED screen
    decent camera array with OIS
No gaming requirement, no 5g requirement, no NFC requirement
    Sub $300

Been waiting for the Motorola G41 to be released, but no date yet. A22 "4G" seams to tick all the boxes? whats the issue with it? any other alternatives out there?

Currently has a Xiaomi Mi A3, but it dying on her, even after a full reset
