looks like that orico shit that shopping express/square sells for $10 since the year dot

    • +4

These and our Thunderbolt products are made in the same factory as Orico except they charge about twice our price and are a Chinese company.

If you are chasing the best speed available, suggest you take a look at our Thunderbolt products.

These cases are FREE and we are simply clearing them out.

      Hope that helps - thanks.

    • Even orico is not a good choice. I will never again cheap out on HDD related stuff. I had an orico HDD dock which was used only a couple of times and the last time it blew the fuse of one of my NAS drives. The dock was not cheap at all, cost me about $80 or something but still caused serious damage. The only good news was that the fuse was really a voltage clamp and I managed to back up the data from the drive by removing it. But I still had to retire the drive as I could no longer trust it.

Just peeked on amazon and it turned out Sabrent aluminum case model only cost $14.99, if you have prime you get free fast delivery and easy return service if it does not work out. I don't really see a reason to go for this.

          • @decc0: Yes, just updated the stock - please try again

        • There's AirTags covers for 75c and some iPhone 12 cases for $1.95 - thanks

  • Make that free shipping over $9.95 and you might have a deal!

$10 to get free shipping… but everything is conveniently priced at $9.95…

Why am I feeling like I am getting baited to buy 2 products and having to spend $19.90?

    • There’s a few items for under 9.95 like the phone cases and airtag cases

    • +1

Stop whining, it's not an essential service, you don't have to buy from this store.
BTW It's not just "free shipping" as you stated it's "All orders over $10 this month ship FREE Express Post"
considering the cheapest Express Post satchel is $12.55 that's a pretty good deal, and you negged it!!

There's a number of products under $2 - the Express Post generally costs us $10-$12.

We lose money on every sale because of the postal cost but the reason we are running the promotion is to get our postal rates down by about 45c as the price we pay is based on volume. We figure our subscribers and OzBargain members may as well take advantage of the promotion whilst we try to get extra numbers through our Australia Post account.

    Hope that makes sense? Thanks.

Free to me means I don't get to spend a cent.

    • +2

We are giving the cases away free but Australia Post will charge us around $10 to mail one case and about $12 to send two pieces.
      Thanks.

      • -3

No worries, just do the delivery for free and you are all sorted!

      • +2

$10 to mail one case and about $12 to send two pieces

        Doubt it.

        1) A few of these will fit in a small satchel hence no change in freight cost.
        2) If using your own packaging, 2 of these are well under 500g (I have these cases), so again, no change in freight cost.

        Here's Auspost's pricing: https://auspost.com.au/content/dam/auspost_corp/media/docume…

        Express Post Band 5 rates
        Zone 1 $7.38
        Zone 2 $9.84
        Zone 3 $11.69

Zone 1 & 2 makes up the bulk usually and whatever leftover easily covers the cost difference with Zone 3.

        • +1

Sorry, we're not Zone 5 and these packages are much bigger than just the drive.
          Thanks for the help though.

            @HomeKit Australia:

$10 to mail one case and about $12 to send two pieces

Like I said, I own this case and remember the packaging it came in. It's not as big as you make it out to be. My best estimate (with packaging) 20 x 15 x 5 cm @ 150g. My point is 2 of this in either a small satchel, or in your own packaging, does not change the freight cost regardless of what band you're in.

Also if you're using your own packaging, as long as it's under 500g in total (which you most definitely will be in this case), you're still going to be charged the small satchel rate. So again, no incremental cost difference for 1 or 2 cases.

Wait. There's a place called HomeKit Australia that has nothing to do with Apple HomeKit?

  • any more 18w chargers?

    • The 18w chargers all went today. There's some small 20w chargers left and plenty of the dual 20w chargers.
      Thanks.

  • So free = $9.05? Right

  • Will you be getting more stock of the aluminium waterproof tape?
    https://homekitaustralia.com.au/products/aluminium-waterproo…

  • Placed an order with few extra items to get free delivery, got email saying one item is out of stock and if I am okay with replacement with something else, I replied Friday saying okay. And they just cancelled all my order yesterday.
Dont waste your item searching for item to get free shipping, as there is not many items left beside those junks.

  • Hey, I ticked the join newsletter option and applied the code it says its not available for me right now. Is the deal still on ?

    My 2x enclosures arrived today.
Both are unbranded and their PCBs are printed with "ASM235CM v03" & "20210923" and I can see the ASM225CM chip on the PCB.
Visually, the case is similar to, but not identical to, an old transparent Orico enclosure that I have.
With an SSD installed, HD Sentinel reports that Trim is supported and enabled.
