Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 8GB Gaming OC Graphics Card $1349 Delivered + Surcharge @ Computer Alliance

650

Ok I'll be honest, I have no idea what constitutes a decent price for a GPU these days, but that seems okay I guess? I've got the 2080 ti from the same range and have been quite happy with it, making for a quiet build after a bit of undervolting. Delivery shows free for Melbourne and Sydney metro.

It's a bit more expensive than the Galax posted earlier, but I'd personally put the extra for the Gigabyte and three fans.

In stock if you want it, otherwise, you can of course wait for prices to come down further (I sure hope they do), or for RTX 40s or Radeon 7000s to come out towards the end of the year.

1% surcharge on card and Paypal payments.

I am waiting for the 4000 series, too

    • +4

I think it will be same like 3000 series.

      Wating for 5000 lol

Stick with ps 5 and xsx now

      • -2

can you link me a ps5? thanks

        • I got both from first Day.. then don't care about stock anymore

And if you really want them, you still can get them from eb jbhifi some time at msrp Price…but GPU?…no way

        • +1

Pick up the phone. Call around the old fashioned way. That's what I did for the Series X. PS5 is a little harder to find but the same rules should apply.

        • +2

Follow PS5 stock Australia on twitter. Getting a PS5 isn't that hard. Took me 4 weeks of actively trying, which was just putting my name down at JB and HN(I know, gross, eff Jerry). I missed one online drop but made it for the EB Games one earlier this week.

      • I am waiting 6080Ti lol

        • HODLmaster

Seems availability is going up and prices are going down, pat yourself on the back if you're hodl.

This isn't really that bad, quite a good AIB, everyone is just expecting this level of performance for… $650/700? So in that sense it isn't great, but it's similar to a 2080ti with a smaller frame buffer and it's cheaper than what those were so, price to performance is actually slightly better.

I'm in the 40 camp myself as well.

    • +5

      MSRP was $959 I think

      • +2

Ah ok, I'm doing a rough conversion from the 1070ti's US MSRP, +10%, converted to AUD, then rounded up (It's $610 today so $650/700 I thought seemed fair). Even $750 I think today would be great. I really hope Intel come in and just wipe out from this down and drag prices right down, we'll see.

Better than me paying for RTX 3060 12GB for $1500 at the height of graphics card crysis.

To those that HODLer…. you win..

For me, I hand back my ozbargain license,

      • +6

A "crysis" is a good way of putting it. Bravo sir

during lockdown, you could play high level games like cyberpunk and battlefield 2042. They were playing animal crossing on their nintendo switch.

          Damned with faint praise.

there were past comments saying gigabyte cards run very high temp?

    • +1

The stock thermal paste is garbage, I always replace mine on gigabyte cards, OP did mention undervolting but that seems like an extreme solution…

      • +1

I see it more as optimization, custom curve + memory overclock at 90% TDP gives me higher boost clocks and lower temperatures than stock. Temps on 3-year old paste are indeed not great at the 80 degrees mark for a Furmark run, definitely was much better initially.

      • +1

I would say replacing thermal paste is a more extreme invervention than undervolting. Also would replacing the paste void warranty? Software undervolting wouldn't leave a trace so warranty should be alright.

  • Gee, hope by Easter, everyone can afford high end GPUs at the right price!

  • It’s cheaper on eBay for plusers.
Even Lower by paying with discounted gc.

Been running my reference 6900xt for the last 12 months and have not had a single issue with their drivers.

  • +2

Ugh, I caved and paid $1425 from Skycomp a few days ago. Oh well! Can't wait til they drop closer to $1k. Maybe I should stop checking and be happy with my card lol

    • Will buy less than $1000 otherwise wait for 4080

  • +4

WTF is with all these GPU posts, from the comments no one is buying anything and is everyone is HODL until a 10,000 series GPU comes out.

    • +4

People not buying things they can't afford and waiting for a cheaper alternative, what's the problem?

      • Gamers are loaded. They just don't want to pay.

    • -1

I'm not buying as I'm angry at these prices. I've saved 5 grand for a computer for the last 2 years waitng for affordable GPU, but now put the money into semester 1 of my uni. Thanks to commonwealth. Investing in knowledge, not in leather man toys.

      • +3

        Leather… Man.. Toys? Wut

    • Would be funny if suddenly all the 3000 series disappeared and 4000 series comes out at even more higher prices.

      • Be careful of your prophecy oh wise one

    • its good entertainment reading these posts lol

Without changing the thermal pads, the vram will be 105~110C.
    For all Gigabyte GPUs almost

  • +1

Just wonder if I buy the gpu from eBay seller, would I be able to claim shoppers protection price difference from 28 degree later on? Or ebay purchase doesn't qualify ?

  • +3

Not worth it guys honestly you have to change thermal pads on the ram chips 100% they will reach 100C+ without it! Buy another brand.

    • I'm assuming you guys mean the newer ones with GDDR6X? My GDDR6-equipped model does not go above 90C

      • GDDR6X is good for winter is coming.

  • If you aren’t phased on brand $1279 here for a Galax.

Man I got my 3080 for $1200 on a Boxing day sale geese.

  • -3

It would be so cool if the 4000 GPUs came out and retailed for over $4,000 dollars a pop.

People are definitely willing to spend that amount!

    • +1

yes HODLer will. unless they HODL for 5000 series.

  • Hmmm should I sell my giga 2070 and get this ?

    • yes, rather than wait for 4070, 5070 and 6070. Just get on with it.

  • Worth the upgrade from 2060 super? I currently play on 1440p.

  • $120 less if buying from their Ebay store and using the code SNSAVE.
