[VIC] Edifier R1280DB Speakers $50 (in-Store Only) @ Clearance Kingdom, Springvale (hussh)

710

First post, please be kind and correct any mistakes.
There was a leaflet in my mailbox about Clearance Kingdom - Springvale and I just went to the store to checkout.
Found the speakers and bought them.
There is additional 10% discount if the leaflet is filled out with name and email address and hand it over to the staff during payment. So I only paid $45

There were about 23 boxes still left on the floor when I came out of the store.
Address: 6/134 Springvale Rd, Springvale.

    This place again…..

    • any issues with this store? my first time there, so I don't know much about it :)

    • what's the problem with this place?

      • +32

They advertised a PS5 for $629 as part of their grand opening special. Yes, a single PS5.

Many had lined up with staff withholding the true quantities of the console and naturally, they all lost to the one guy who lined up at 11pm the night before.

        • -1

Wow! Consoles are more expensive than I thought.

        • -1

Did anyone expect there to be dozens though?

          • +2

            @Clear:

Many had lined up with staff withholding the true quantities of the console

This was the problem though, how they wasted everyone's time

            • -8

              @montorola: That's a different issue.

              • -7

@Clear: Ok since people are stupid. Not telling people there was only 1 in stock is one issue and then having people lined up expecting there to be more than 1 is another issue. Thus 2 issues.

Next week we learn how to get to 3.

@Clear: The advertiser must be honest. You don't need to defend your deal like you're the store owner.

This is how you turn customers away.

                  • @Techie4066: The more customers that dont support this dodgy store the better. I agree.

        • 😄

  • Interesting! What is the address of the store please? I am finding it hard to locate it in Springvale. Thanks

    • Thanks for putting it in the description!

    • +2

I just updated the description for everyone's benefit.
      Address: 6/134 Springvale Rd, Springvale.

Thanks! managed to get one yesterday.
Seemed new to me and did not have any obvious sign of being damaged/refurbished/returned. It was well packed.
Perhaps, this outlet is one of those places where time to time you may find something as a jackpot. Nothing else got my attention but will visit them again.

  • I don't anything about the retailer, but that sounds like a cracking good price.

  • +2

That is a great price! I got 'em for $110, 3 yrs ago (from wireless 1) and they are awesome for PC speakers… A little lacking for a whole living room but still v decent, esp. at that price!!!

  • how do they compare to the R1855DB?

    • I am not sure about the R1280DB but i do have R1855DB.
mate…. they are good for the price($129) I had it on blackfriday!
the BASS could be too rough if you push it too much but it you just increase it 10%, phewww…. you will enjoy your playlist the wholeday week year…

  • +2

At the store right now, still about 12 left

  • I got a pair of edifier earphones, impressed with the sound quality

    • Are they the tws1 pro? How much were they?

      • Edifier X5, got it as a gift, good sound quality

  • +2

So they turned Aldi special buys lotteries into an actual full fledged store? Cool.

  • +1

    What colours are available?

    • They had only Black ones… but an easy fix would be to just use decorative vinyl to match your preference…:)

  • In the post for the grand opening special, all the items in the pictures had returned merchandise stickers on them. Did that end up being the case? If so is that the catch with this store?

    • +2

Most but not all yellow tagged products were either refurbished, returned or damaged packaging. Yellow tags were items that had to be checked to make sure items were all present and no damages with 3 months warranty.

  • Any update on stock? Thinking to head out and grab one. I'm about 25 minutes away though.

Edit: Bonus points if you can tell me the size of the box. Nice afternoon, thinking to ride down on a motorcycle.

    • +1

      Still around 10 left.

      • +3

On my way, wish me luck.. 😅

    • +1

from memory, biggest dimension on the box is about 2 feet

  • That's probably what these speakers are worth, they are anaemic

    • Oh then this is good for people with synesthesia

  • +1

Just left, they're going fast now but still around 10 boxes.. they must be replenishing it.

  • Do you think they will sell it at this price on Monday?
There's no phone number I can call them and ask this! Do you know how to ring them?

    • +1

They had 4 left, so if you get in quick, you can pick up on Mon.

      • Thanks but do you think they will honour this deal as their website says the sale is over today 4 PM?

      • Are they even open on Monday?

        • +1

Lady said they are going to re-stock, but website says this was the last day. Honestly don't know!

        • +1

Yes, the lady there said they will open 10-4 in Monday. Closed Sunday.

I remember companies like Hushh in the 1980s and 90s. BUYER BEWARE. The hook is something unbelievably cheap for which everyone comes for - but there was only one unit and it is already sold - often the quality of the remaining items is questionable. They're hoping that since you made the trip out there, you'll buy something anyway. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for…

    • +1

this is true, most of the items are low quality, made to look like bargains.

    • +2

There was definitely a lot more units (for this item atleast) than actually stated. Majority of electronics were still factory sealed as the guy said. Weird things like random chairs weren't. I didn't take a bag big enough so I had to open it in-store and stuff it in my bag.. 😅

I just couldn't be bothered to stay and walk around to see what other savings there was. Quite a few Logitech products were still there when I left, most likely mid-low end models. But bargains none-the-less.

  • Too bad can't get this deal… Hopefully next week same price

  • +1

A lot of the stuff there seemed returned stuff these guys bought in bulk and Kogan branded. We bought a 60L motion sensor bin which had a blacked-out connote on the side and when we opened it up, it had a small ding to it. Also managed to get a few spigen cases but other than that nothing really worth it. There was a 3700x for $370 and an 7700k for $650(?)(LOL)

    • I felt the same for many items… but some others seem fresh.

  • Just wanted to say thanks to the person that recently posted the Xbox series s at the same business. (Removed due to limited stock)

Been wanting to get a series s on discount and snagging it for 389 was perfect.

    • That was a crackling price for the S!

  • Only unwrapped mine this morning.

Only thing was it was the wrong colour.

The colour I should have actually bought after watching YouTube videos last night.. 😅

    Double win for me.

  • Good speakers. Better than any PC Sub + 2 Satellites setup I've ever had. APT-X would be nice on the bluetooth but you have to get 1855 for that.

  • is it still available for $50 today/ monday?

  • anyone can confirm if we can still get this promotion price for edifier r1280db?
