I just got a C3 alert.

These are supposedly the bee’s knees among wall-mounted bike racks. And since it’s a local brand, this is one of those few items on Amazon that’s cheaper on AU than US.

can confirm these are great and easy to install

      • +1

Probably not but in my case I wanted the bike to swivel to the side to save more space

      • +2

I have these. They are great if you can't drill holes into your wall but don't hold road bike tyres that well since they are too thin. It makes it super easy to topple and scratch/damage your bike.

      • Did not know these existed, and I think will suit me well

    • I have two, they're great. Super convenient for multiple bikes that can flatten against the wall together. Very space efficient!

    • +3

Also worth noting that Amazon aren't listing the Mountain bike rack, while Anaconda do.
Suitable for tyre widths 2.2 - 3.0 inch IIRC.

      • MTB rack not on sale. It is very useful and sturdy though, and significantly more accommodating than the standard rack (I have one of each).

    • Thanks! Got a third one 😁

The whole collection will have spots on the wall (for now…)

  • Sweet, got 3% off Amazon gift cards from Suncorp which took the price down to $200.79 (or $66.93 each). Was about to get 3 from SteadyRack directly with their 10% discount, but this works out 4% better so that'll do pig….that'll do.

  • +1

Also works out around this price when buying 2 or more at Pushys when they have a 15% code.

    3 for $206.52

    • 15% off promo on now! Expires tonight

  • +1

These r awesome. I've got 2 x classics and 2 x mountains. I think they were 80 buck each when u buy 2 or more. Great Aussie product

  • Are these good for carbon fibre road bikes?

    • +3

The tyre is the only think that touches the mount so good for all bikes

      • Great. Thanks

  • +1

I needed 5 mounts and just couldn't justify the cost when I got 5 for $5 each and it's doing the same job

They sure do look good though

    • +2

The $ goes into the swivelling mechanism.

      • +1

Yeah I know, it would have been handy, but ultimately it was a nice-to-have for me.

        • Yep gotcha that yours were super cheap (think bunnings also sell similar super cheap hooks) but obviously steadyrack swivels and the way the bike mounts the rack (no lifting) has also gotta be mentioned. This is a really good product that's been well thought through. Tis a joy to mount bikes back on the rack every time we come back from a ride. More expensive than a standard hook but a great product I reckon :-)

    • care to share which ones you got for $5? please

  • Thanks OP. i've been waiting to get one of these for ages!

  • Wow thanks OP. Ordered these directly from them 2 days ago for $89 -10% discount, gonna cancel.

  • +1

thanks OP. Had been hanging out for a discount on these. Cheers!

  • Can price beat with 99 bikes for 5% lower, however it might take too long / by tomorrow Amazon price could have gone up again.

    • Nope, not gonna happen due to price beaten policy.

Just an idea… If you have enough space you could actually park your bike in a workstand. Something like this https://www.anacondastores.com/cycling/bike-accessories/bike…

Yes, of course it is worse for just a storage of a bike, but if you do lots of maintanance and have a workstand anyway… Two birds with one stone.

Also, those metal bike stands for wheels parking like the subject one may scratch deep section wheels. Need to be careful.

    • +1

I don't think its possible to scratch the wheels with the steadyrack, as the rack only comes in contact with the tyres. Other than the swivel/swing function, the next best feature is the fact that you can put the bike into the rack without lifting entire bike and not have any part of the bike touch the rack other than the tyre.

    • As long as your tyres are wider than the rims the rims won't be touched.

      • +1

If you are after aero gains on road and wide rims - not necessarily the tyres will be significantly wider. In my case they aren't…

  • +1

Anybody care to share their knowledge on the maximum tyre width? Amazon states up to 2.4" while Steadyrack website states up to 2.1" for the classic. I'd love to pickup three at this price but my bikes all are 2.3" and don't want the hassle of returning if they're too small.

    • +1

I own 2 classic and one mountain bike.

For classic - road bike, gravel bike but Mountain bike you can but the front tyre may get stuck in metal frame. Go easy with getting front tyre off.

    • Need the MTB version which is not on sale, 😔

    • +2

You should be fine. I used an MTB with 2.25" tyres in my classic for years. I just measured the spacing between the top section which is the narrowest part it's 62.5mm which is just over 2.4".

As a test, I stuck a front wheel with a Maxis Minion DHF 2.5" and it just fits, but the side knobs do rub.

I think the 2.1" statement is Steady Rack being conservative to avoid irate customers - mountain bike tyre sizing is not really that consistent across manufacturers.

      • I have the MTB version which is 85 mm across and I have a tire width of 2.35. it fits easy…. be a super tight fit if it would fit in a 65 mm slot tyre looks like about 63mm the 2.35

        • 2.35" in precisely 59.69mm, but as I mentioned MTB tyres do vary in actual size. I'd call it a snug fit, there's no pressure on the side wall of the tyre. It's fine because the lower bars are wider and you load into the lower bars first, then once they have the weight you can easily align with the upper bars.

When the original Steadyrack came out 2.35" tyres were the largest size in common usage and the Steadyrack MTB was only introduced when the industry moved to larger tyres.

    • I have my second MTB in a standard rack which has 2.1 tyres, and they are a tight fit. My main MTB has 2.4 tyres and I'm pretty sure they wouldn't go in the standard.

    • Response to myself and future prospective buyers: 2.3" MTB fits well enough in the Classic - side knobs do rub a little, but no big deal. I would be weary of attempting to fit a much bigger wheel into this rack though. Initial impression after installing: they live up to the hype and are worth the extra $ - the folding mechanism with multiple bikes is a thing of beauty and my garage looks amazing.

  • Swivel would be handy but you will need lots of wall space to accommodate, especially if you have a few bikes

  • +1

I have shelves that are about 2m above the ground.
I simply installed hooks on them and I hook the bikes on.
Bikes are off the ground, leaving floor space clear.

    Hooks were like $10

  • Would there be any use of this for an escooter? Innokim Ox.

    • +1

I'm almost sure this won't work for you. The wheel needs to lay in the bracket and that won't happen for a scooter. We fold all our push scooters and hang them by their handlebars off a u-shaped bracket on the wall. The Ox weighs a fair bit. YMMV.

  • +2

I looked at a tonne of different wall mount solutions including the steadyrack for our bikes and ended up doing this using a bunch of cheap hooks from Bunnings. It worked out way more flexible for us as I have since added additional hooks to hang stuff like helmets, scooters, long tools and even a Billy cart! It also meant I only made four holes in the wall to hang the two pieces of timber and just hang everything off that.

    • looks nifty!

  • I have four of these. Can confirm they're great.

  • I used to think these were a bit pricey but they are totally worth the money. I now have 2 and they are great. Really well designed and functional. Im tempted to get another but that will disincentivise me from selling one of my old bikes 😊

  • +1

Thanks man, got my mrs to order me one.

Will be a big improvement on the current setup of… old broomstick , metal cable tied at a 45 degree angle to the side of one of my shelf units, when I need access to the containers I have to lift it off. Now I can swing it out and then swing back once done. Appreciate it, see how the space goes when stored might get one for my kids bike.

  • I love this idea myself, but not sure where you would get the steel tubing and rollers locally https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_deob4L4AEY

  • Bought 2 for $117.99.

  • Can anyone with these answer this question for me?
I would like to store bikes beside my car in the garage, with not much space to bring the bike in directly, perpendicular to the wall (where the car usually is). Looks like bikes would fit there when folded away, but…
Is it possible to enter from the side (folded) position, or must the rack be perpendicular (straight out from) to the wall to mount the bike?
    Thanks.

  • I have a row of these on my garage wall and they work well
