Thanks for this. As someone who is still researching about smart home, this has been in the recommended list for smart hub. Having said that, does anyone have any feedback on Eufy integration? Could not find a lot of info on it.

Being us product probably won't support the Australian z-wave channels?

There are different versions of the device available on the website, with an AU version being one of them :)

Any idea on what the applicable import duty /taxes may be <mentioned in the listing for AU>?

Edit: with shipping to Mel it's coming to about 139 USD ~ 193 AUD.

Smart guys has the same model for AUD 199 delivered. Probably better to buy through there.

Yes, shipping kills the deal and subjects to import tax. Smart guys ebay store also AUD199.99 and can use Afterpay -$10 code.

  • what's the different with home assistance?

    • This is essentially an 'out of the box' solution, running its own hardware with intergrated Zwave and Zigbee - a good way to get started. (make sure you buy the AU version as we have our own Zwave frequency).

Home Assistant is more of a home automation platform/OS that you would have to install on hardware of your choice depending on your use case. RPi4 + zigbee/usb stick

Home Assistant is a more open source solution, and probably a lot more powerful in the long run - albiet a steeper learning curve. That said, its become a lot easier compared to 3-4 years ago.

      • It's definitely has become a lot easier. I am running HA off my media centre and it's been working well. I have multiple ecosystems at home and it's brought them together without the need for IFTTT.

They also have a could version that syncs with your home server.

    • Home Assistant is the better option. Cheaper and more compatible. Basics are easy enough and plenty of guides. ZigBee dongle can be had for under $20 delivered.

  • Pity it doesnt' work with CBUS
