      Yes (at the moment).

      I just checked the TCN website, and you can exchange TCN Him or Her gift cards for JB Hi-Fi gift cards through the TCN website.

        thanks, guess Ultimate cards stopped online redeem while on sales last time, and now … it is ok to redeem online again I guess. Hope it is not the case with TCN

          TCN stopped the exchange of their gift cards for JB Hi-Fi gift cards through their website late last year for about a month, so I guess it shows that TCN (or JB Hi-Fi) can pull the exchange facility at any time.

            @WookieMonster: just wondering, beyond the JB HiFi cards having no expiry, is there any other reason why you'd want to exchange the gift cards? I've used 20+ odd Ultimate cards at a JB Store when purchasing something in one go, so I am wondering if there is something I am missing?

              @Crazy-Eyes: Three possible reasons:

              1. Not everyone has easy access a physical JB Hi-Fi store. For example, there are places in Australia where you have a Coles or Woolworths in the town, but there isn’t a JB Hi-Fi store within sight. The two examples I always use are Armidale (NSW) and Ulverstone (TAS), they are 100+km by road from the nearest JB Hi-Fi store, but they have a Coles and Woolworths (and in Armidale’s case, a BIG W) in town.

              2. Some sales or some items sold at JB Hi-Fi are exclusively sold on the JB Hi-Fi online store.

              3. Blackhawk Network & Heritage Bank (the issuers of the Ultimate gift cards) and TCN reserve the right to change the list of participating retailers at any time without notice. (It’s in their gift cards’ terms and conditions.) Some people like to sit on gift cards and hold off until a major purchase, and the last thing they want is for JB Hi-Fi to leave (or be thrown out of) a gift card program whilst they have are sitting on a pile of gift cards.

    I am very confused, can someone run the math on what the discount rate is like if you want JB hifi gift cards.

    Also whats the highest $ per gift card

      It's basically 10%. It's 200 points per dollar redeemable.
      E.g. Buy a $100 gift card, get 2000 points, redeemable for $10. 👍
      Maximum card value is $100, and you're allowed to claim 10 times per EDR account.

      Which gift cards are you referring to?

      • The TCN gift cards in this deal will earn 20x points for each $1 spent.

      • The OnlyONE gift cards (which isn’t actually in this deal) earn 10x points for each $1 spent (excluding the gift card purchase fee), but I have not seen a 20x points deal for that gift card in the last two years.

      I’m not aware of any ways for you to use Woolworths Group gift cards as a payment method for gift cards at BIG W. BIG W thoroughly patched their POS system a few years ago to stop this.

      The checkout will let you purchase up to 10 gift cards in one transaction, and you’ll definitely get bonus points on 10 gift cards if you purchase them across one or more transactions during the promotional period.

      Whether staff will let you purchase 10 gift cards in one transaction is another question, because some staff may be trigger happy and stop you from doing that, because of scam or fraud concerns. If that happens, that’s not the end of the world, since multiple transactions are fine.

      Someone else has said that the limit may not actually be 10 gift cards across the promotional period, so that may be useful to know…

      No.

      You can try, but you’ll get an “Items Not Allowed” error and you’ll likely be (politely) reminded by staff that you cannot use gift cards to purchase gift cards.

          There are no card purchase fees when purchasing TCN gift cards in-person from retailers (e.g. Coles, Woolworths, BIG W, Target).

    Thanks OP, got 10 cards at the local this morning and points came through. Just curious if any one knows, I remember someone mentioned you were able to treat the cards like a normal EFTPOS payment and pay for Apple gift cards at JB?

    I was able to get points on 10x $100 and 8x $50 gift cards.
    I went to two different Big W's to do this. The first Big W didn't have any $50's so can't say if it works at the same store.
    The second store didn't give me points for the $100 ones (I got 10 of those at the first store) but worked for the 8 $50's.
