    Where's them jelly tips at

    • Replaced with the half/half peanut butter and Jelly block. i posted the deal here https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/658841 you could have purchased around $2 each, for the remaining now expired bars.

    • RIP Jelly Tip, gone too soon.

Whittakers have just released their take on Caramilk in NZ - “Blondie”. No doubt we’ll see that one available here before too long.

      • +2

Its still available from IGA and Foodworks, just not Coles and Woolies anymore. Its priced a lot more at IGA and Foodworks.

Cocoa lovers may also have been removed from Coles, which did not last long.

        • +2

Thanks for the (jelly) tip! Will check out IGA. Don’t mind paying the independent surcharge for the occasional block.

  • wow.. almost 3 hours and no one mentioned sugar content?..

Many of the comments have mentioned already. "One of my favourites." "Big fan of this block" " Whittakers #1 taste" "Where's them jelly tips at"

It's chocolate. What do people expect?!

      • +2

I know but the sugar police need to do their job.

Lately I've been into the plain chocolate and hokey pokey but really you can't go wrong with any of them. Black Forrest, Hazlenut… One of each please!

Reminds me of the golden rough, but better

    • +3

I tried a Golden Rough recently, just for old times sake. Absolutely terrible chocolate.

agreed .. but it was like pure silk on the lips when I was a kid .. and I will never let my childhood memories be devalued by the current.
People say AFL is better now and it maybe so (depending on what measures this is judged by), but man, the 70s & 80s was bone-crunching excitement with the skills thrown in, lol

But slightly more on topic, Cadburys fans can rest assured this is a nice tasting chocolate IMHO. I have Cadburys up top, but whenever I've had Whittakers I have enjoyed the taste. This is a cheap way to give it a burl

        • The AFL didn't exist until 1990.

          • +1

@GG57: Ugggh, pure pedantics! I hate that.. I saved my fingers typing the "then VFL", but thank you for clarifying for all the NON-AFL fans

            • +1

@buyB4Uthink: TBH, I preferred the VFL pre-1990, and probably prefer the VFL now.

The hokey pokey block is life

Love coconut flavour too, but I'm itching for some of that Whittaker L&P flavour

    • Foodworks sell this one by the 50g slab.

  • Do these go for half price? Happy to wait, if they do!

  • Whittaker have been tinkering with their milk choc and peanut slab lately. Somewhere around mid 2021 the milk choc started to taste different. The 50g peanut slab changed late 2021. The new taste is more uniform between batches, but something isn’t quite right in the new taste. It’s more like generic fat, rather than the old smooth buttery cocoa taste.

    • You might be onto something but be aware in the middle of summer chocolate of all kinds degrades in taste and texture much quicker, especially with all of the shipping and logistical delays that the big grocery chains have been facing for the past 6 months now.

I do agree that the last few Creamy Milk blocks that I've bought haven't had that trademark smooth creaminess to them.

      • I don’t think it’s degradation, the taste change started around the time when they changed the packaging of the milk choc. The hazelnut one hasn’t changed yet.

  • $6 in WA. Ordered 3x plain blocks from Amazon for $12.

  • Yum!
