hmm is there any reason I wouldnt build my own at that price?

    • +13

Usually the reason to buy these is cos it's cheaper than building it yourself. But with the recent price drops, it's usually much better idea to do yourself. You'll get better thermals, noise levels, etc with a properly planned build.

Not sure why I got negged for facts, but I did forget to mention that some also consider a "whole" warranty on a pc rather than individual parts to also have value. This is especially the case for less tech savvy folk.

after watching gamer nexus' teardown of dell machines…. yeah nah i would pass, i doubt dell's worse-than-laptop cooling solutions would do high end components like 5900x and 3080 any justice at all

Theres much cheaper sub 3k 3080 deals out there, quite a few posted recently actually, and while they may have worse specs, you can always upgrade them down the line, a luxury that dell/alienware owners will sadly never get to experience. a real pity

    • after watching gamer nexus' teardown of dell machines….

The new chassis appears to address those issues, but you are right there are better deals out there.

    • This is the R14 with the new chassis, the GN video was the old R10 model.

  • Can you imagine I bought 5900 at $1100 last year?
    Plus 3080, how much ? Around $2000?…
    Omg it is so cheap…

you get to enjoy the high end components a year earlier than us :) dont be sad, you already spent the money, make the most out of it.

    BPC and Techfast are better
    HODL!!!

    • So Dell should target them and bring down their gaming desktops cheaper in order to draw more sales, is this the ever first time during Dell ebay 20% sale, they dropped the price 2nd time during the sale period?

  • +3

The 1TB HDD is there to make fun of people who buys it.

  • No disrespect to the deal or the OP, I have an R11. I would not recommend. Alienware are branded as premium and for gamers, I found neither to be true. I did like the keyboard.

Wow so you got the CPU for what, $500?

What a great deal on a 3080 LHR

      Please share the source…

    • how?
      same specs!

  • -4

Wow, didn’t knew my comment was so offensive lol

mine was 3050 and most of the stuffs from amazon sales n where ever I could find cheapest

    • +10

So you built a system with different specs for cheaper..

      • Yeah a 3050 and a 3080 are pretty different beasts….

A 3050 could be had for around $500 on sale.

3080 have been selling for well over $2000, but recently have dropped to circa $1800….

    • +3

You compare your 3050 with a 3080? of coz you offended all the 3080 owners.

    • +2

since when 3050 and 3080 is the same specs?

      beyond 3050 < 2060 &1070ti<1080 <3060 & 2070<1080ti <2070s < 2080 <3060ti & 2080s<3070 & 2080ti<3070ti < 3080

      like compare Ferrari with Hyundai

  • My biggest concern now is investing in DDR4 and a slower M2 SSD slot

Having seen the speed difference a gen 4 SSD on an intel system makes in file transfers compared to the same SDD on gen 3 AMD mobo in a Lenovo Legion 7 makes me think AMD 5xxxx series is dead until mobos support Gen 4 speed

I have a 5950x system and it's good, but I wont be investing more in DDR4 and 3rd gen M2 slots.
