Just purchased the 1kg, will be trying it for the first time, everyone seems to be raving on about it.
Keen to get folks' opinions - I'm usually getting the Campos Superior blend, mostly because it's easy to get at the supermarkets. How will it compare?
I'm also using the Breville Barista Express - has anyone got the suggested dialled in settings?
How old / roast date when you buy Campos from supermarket? It is terrible deal in my opinion, over priced $45/kg for beans sitting on shelves for few weeks.
There is no one size fit all for grind size, you have to try yourself and fine tune to get 2:1 ratio in 30sec for double dose, would probably be similar to your current one +/-2

i use this, and this is the best entry level all-in-one machine.
I use grind settings 2~3, depending on the bean freshness. But the setting really depends on your machine, and you have to adjust it to suite. There's tonnes of dialing espresso tutorials on youtube - just follow them to get rough timing and grind, and taste test. One thing i do recommend is to increase the heat from default to the highest - but that's just my personal preference.
I use the sumatra blend, seems to be really good for the price.
Somehow you always have great timing. Loved Saratoga, and it will be nice to have Sumatra again :)

I've been purchased several times from these guys, happy with the quality and consistency. I don't know how they get an order from Queensland to Melbourne within 48 hours but it just happens. would this be a good start for someone who has black coffee w/o sugar every morning (as a part of intermittent fasting), but never had any favorites so far? i can't say i am cheap when it comes to my beans, but this would be the highest i would have paid per kg if i go for this.
Anyone here having this as black coffee without sugar can comment for its taste and value for extra $?

Drink beans within a month of the roast date
Beans peak around 10 days after roast date in terms of the best flavour. Then I would say another 2 to maybe 3 weeks until they stay at their best. There’s no harm for months after that really from my experience but the taste gets more bitter as time goes on. Also subjective. I’m a little bit of a ‘coffee snob’ so I notice the difference but some of my family members can’t really tell the difference at all.

I assumed I would get asked for details and promo code before being charged but I was charged the full $31.55 straight up and then taken to confirm my order where I was able to enter the promo code to bring the price down and then place the order. All AirJo's have been awesome so far. I am a decaf drinker and theirs is fantastic. First decaf that has been equally good as a normal bean. It's full bodied and produces a fantastic crema and the smell is heaven.

You can have 2 people using same beans and the Breville smart grinder and you won't necessary get the same grind size setup, too many variable ie dose amount, basket type, adjustment of upper burr of the grinder, age of grinder, how fresh is the beans. You just need to play with grind size setup till you get ~20gm IN, 40ml OUT in 30 sec. How was your experience with the beans?
@huntabargain: Beans were awesome although I definitely need to dial the grinder into them. Had 22gm IN and nearly 60 out. Had grind setting on 4 and my grinder is 3 months old. Will continue to keep playing around :)
@supersaverdude: Not the best shot, but not far from it.. I guess you can try grind slightly finer perhaps #3 and give attention to levelling and tamping to prevent channelling.
