Apple Education Store: 6% Cashback for Max, 5% for Other Members (No Cap) via Cashrewards

440

Disappointed with the $100.00 cap on yesterday's deal, (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/685778) I was hoping that they would do one today or tomorrow with a lower cashback but no cap. Turns out they did and I can happily now cancel yesterday's order and put in a new one for the Macbook pro today.

Only on the Education Store. Standard Apple store is still 1.5%

I've got a friend Max, can i use him to get the upsized cashback?

    • Is he residing in ANZ?

  • Poor old tightarse was all over the last deal in the last few hours telling people of this deal. It's a shame he didn't get in earlier.

  • So would this + gift cards + cashback visa stacked together with the airpods deal apple edu store is running be the best way to buy a macbook pro right now

    • Where can you buy Gift cards from?

      • Yes this seems like the best.

Gift cards from the portal here or with fly buys.

        • Can you share the gift card link?

          • @kosmonaft: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/discounted_egift_cards

Flybuys deal has ended. Remember apple only allows 8 gift cards per transaction.

@kosmonaft: If you want to get Apple gift cards at a discount right now, you have three options:

            • Get them at a ~5% discount at a number of discounted gift card portals.

            • Go to BIG W, purchase TCN HIM or HER gift cards to earn 20x Everyday Rewards points, then go to JB Hi-Fi and purchase Apple gift cards using TCN HIM or HER gift cards. (Note this deal ends today.)

            • Go to Woolworths, purchase TCN HIM or HER gift cards at a 10% discount, then go to JB Hi-Fi and purchase Apple gift cards using TCN HIM or HER gift cards. (Note this deal ends on Tuesday.)

And before you ask, you can use TCN or Ultimate gift cards to purchase Apple gift cards at JB Hi-Fi, as TCN and Ultimate gift cards are EFTPOS or Visa cards that can only be used at specific retailers. I go into more detail about it here.

@WookieMonster: Well ummm listen to Wookie, I'm a peasant compared to him.

            • @WookieMonster: This makes a lot of sense!!!
I do have 2 follow up questions:
              1. Do I need to exchange the TCN HIM/HER card for JB HIFI gift card on the TCN website or I can just go to JB HiFi and purchase the Apple gift card?
              2. Do you know for what amount I can purchase and Apple gift card? Do they have $1000 or $2000 gift cards?

              • @kosmonaft:

                1. You can just walk into JB Hi-Fi to directly pay for the Apple gift card. I suggest you don't exchange the TCN gift cards for JB Hi-Fi gift cards first, as staff may not let you use JB Hi-Fi gift cards to pay for Apple gift cards.

                2. The highest denomination I have seen stocked in a JB Hi-Fi store is $200. If you need $1500 or $2000 in Apple gift cards, you may need to visit multiple stores, especially since some staff may be uncomfortable with selling a lot of gift cards in one transaction. At that point, it is worth asking yourself whether the extra effort is worth the 10% discount (or bonus points).

                • @WookieMonster: Yeah but in the Apple store you can use max 8 gift cards

                  • @kosmonaft: You can go to the Apple Store and see if they can consolidate multiple gift cards into one. Someone told me that is possible.

                    • @WookieMonster: Reading a comment under your post you can Redeem the Apple gift card in your Apple account and purchase the product with the credit from your account -> no need of consolidating multiple gift cards

                      • @kosmonaft: Ahhh when you said "go to the Apple Store", I thought you were referring to a physical Apple Store.

You cannot redeem any credit on your Apple Account for any purchases at a physical Apple store, but you can redeem it on the Apple Online Store and over the phone on 133 MAC.

                • @WookieMonster: So roughly $1150 for the base M1 air? Pretty good deal.

  • Latest ipad still excluded…. :(

  • Does the cash back apply to MacBook air educational store price?

  • If i only use $1 from my linked ANZ debit card, and the rest is paid with Apple ID balance, will i get 6% CR Max?

  • Is it a good time to buy ipad pro? or they gonna update again next month?

  • Does anyone know if this deal would come back on the last few days of the edu store promotion? I wish it lasted to 7/3 like the shop back deal ;(

    • ShopBack is doing 5.5% cashback at the moment on the education store too

  • Thank you for sharing this. Got the base model M1 Mac mini with the Back to Uni promo. Paid with Apple gift card bought with 5% discount from Macquarie Marketplace. Got confirmation of cashback from Cashrewards just now.

If anyone has any issues with incorrect sale & cashback amounts where Apple orders have tracked at a lower amount than expected, feel free to message minita or myself with your CR email address and a screenshot of the full Apple invoice and we'll sort it out for you. Many thanks!

    • I had only free air pods track, been a week since ipad delivered but hasn't tracked auto matically.

Not gonna chase it as I'm returning them both but it seems they don't auto track the ssplit purchase due to shipping delays?

Otherwise thanks for the deals, will be await next 10% after new ipad air drops
