i got the ixus220h price matched at OW for $147, cos JB had it for $157 last week..it doesnt seem to on JBs website anymore…but this is a really good price for a basic comapct
A nice comparison b/w the two models http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/digital-cameras/1285045/canon…

You should have posted the 220hs deal. I would have bought one at that price.

      • though about it, but the JB guy said they were discontinuing it…so i doubt they had much in stock..tbh i dont think there is much difference b/w the two to justify $ difference

I was going to say, save an extra 5% by going to officeworks and get them to price match, but the 20% off gift cards is much better!! some might even say 15% better

    • +2

      Actually 300% better..

Items on special tend to change every week(think i was told by a TGG staff and normally on a Monday)!
The 20% off gift card is not on until the 30-Apr!!

Ps: I might be wrong about the specials! Please wait for response on my comment from other OZBargainers

  • Bought this today from goodguys, but they had it listed for $99 not $89 (in store and in their catalogue)they said they couldn't drop the price any more even for cash, good price for a point and shoot. I thought all goodguys prices were be the same?
This was the last one they had in stock, so I didnt want to wait until the aus post vouchers came on sale next week.

They have a 30 day price guarantee if you see it cheaper somewhere else after you bought it.

      • 30 day price guarantee is for price advertised by their competitors on catalogue. It is not applicable if Good Guys decrease the price even after a week for the item.

        • I don't think so,

I was told I could buy before Christmas sales and then come back for a refund if that item drops during the boxing day sale at their own shop.

        • It has happened to me with a laptop, I bought from them. Next week it was $100 cheaper. I went back and they told me about it. Price guarantee with competitors. You can read their fine print for price guarantee.

        • This also has to be a catalogue not just an online price. OW has dropped their price to $99 and they won't honour the 30 day price guarantee… I picked it up for $117 2 weeks ago.

FML the one I bought from Harvey Norman almost a month ago hasn't come yet, and I've received no correspondence. ):

Combine this with the 20% off gift cards and its insanely cheap.

  • funny, i see a add for this on this page, but it says expires on 30th of April and the price is 99 not 89…

    • Same here.

    • Lay-by and click the link.

    • looks like $89 in NSW (at least 2 stores i checked online)!
      but brighton, vic is $99

      • Hoppers Crosssing Vic - 99

  • A very decent camera, I've had one for over 6 months. Has great features and specs, usability is not the best with very flush buttons. For that price, get one, definately.

  • nice and simple camera!

  • I bought this cam 2 months ago, its a fantastic pocket size camera. I am amazed by the quality of the pictures taken at night. Its just fantastic.

I bought this when HN had it for $98 recently and I'm pretty impressed - probably the best compact camera you can get at that price — high quality sensor, lots of features, extra batteries are cheap on ebay and pretty fast processing… I'd say it's similar to my ixus 130 which I paid $250 for a year ago (which was $300 at the time RRP)… Unlike my other Ixus cameras however the 115 is made in China (my other ones are Japanese) and I've noticed that at one stage a 130 a co-worker bought was also made in China so looks like production was shifted to keep costs down.

Either way, as someone who owns a few cameras, I have to say if your looking for a compact easy to use good quality camera, you cannot go wrong with this little beast at this price….

    • it is just a very basic and cheap point-and-shoot compact camera, a cheapest mirror-less camera takes far better pictures than this one, let alone a cheapest dslr.

but you sound like an amazing salesman…….

  • Really good camera, quality is fabulous (flash and non-flash Great), much better than the Samsung models at around same price range (imo).

  • Picked it up from Officeworks by pricematching the website….$94.05

      $94.05? Shouldn't it be 89 x 95% = 84.55?

It looks to me that the "online store" price is $89, with $10 delivery. But if you choose the option of identifying your local store in order to buy online and pick up from that store, the price becomes $99. So there's no actual way to buy this camera for $89?

Correct me if i'm wrong…otherwise you should correct the price in the title.

Here's the two URL's for the same product:
    http://www.thegoodguys.com.au/buyonline/Canon_IXUS_115_HS_Di… - $89 (plus $10 deliv)
    http://www.thegoodguys.com.au/northland/Canon_IXUS_115_HS_Di… - $99

  • I have this camera. I bought it from Bing lee back in January for $135. So this is a good price. So far very happy with this camera. The HD video is realy clear and the stills produce excellent quality pics.

Managed to get the ixus 220 for $50 mid last year at jb hifi.
Was a display model but no battery, cable, box, zilch!

Bought 2 batteries and a charger from ebay for under $10

Bargain of the year for me : )

  • Just picked up the 230HS from Myer for $203. They seem to have a very good sale on cameras at the moment. The 220HS was $143, I don't think the 115HS came close to this price though.

  • Just grabbed one of these from Browns Plains, Brisbane. Was advertised at $99 but the guy did $89 for me no questions asked when I mentioned that the website has it for $89. Gonna go play with my new toy now. Thanks OP!

  • grabbed one at ow cbd for $84.

    • same here, just showed them the GG website on my phone, no questions

GG giftcard obtained from post office, and camera reserved for pick up tomorrow.

    $89 x 80% = $71.20

    SUCCESS!!!

    • how did u get the gift card?
i thought its only out on the 30th

      • +1

Some post offices are selling cards early…see the comments in the giftcard deal.

  • Thanks OP, got one this afternoon. Very nice little camera, tried to take a few pictures and the quality was excellent. Full HD video recording is very useful and so easy to use. For $89 this has to be the BEST camera you can buy in Australia. So happy with the purchase!

By the way the officeworks is selling this for $99 so you can try to price match and get it even cheaper. My local OW ran out of stock so I had to buy from TGG.

I have just placed an order online. if you follow the link above it still takes you to $89 deal but if you through GG website it costs $149.
