…. Amazon match catch. Not the other way around.

    Amazon is predatory.

    • +2

Have edit the deal to say matching catch

  • Bummer this isn't for the PC model.
Still undecided on the MX Keys though after reading some reviews.
(I have the MX Master 3 mouse and LOVE it)

If anybody is an owner/user of this keyboard, can you confirm a couple things?
Reviews say the battery is terrible and needs charging every 10 hours… seems pretty ordinary.
If the keyboard is as good as the mouse, I'll buy one.

    • +8

I have both MX Keys & MX Master. Not sure where the 10 hours came from, I usually have to charge my keyboard once every 1-2 months. Seamlessly connectivity, and feels amazing to use. Must be noted that I am using it on Windows not Mac.

      • Thanks mate. Yep I'm on PC… thanks for the review. Maybe the 10 hours thing was a fault with 1 or 2 users. 1-2 months sounds a bit more realistic.

        • +2

10 hrs is if you keep the backlight on.

      • I've had MX Keys and MX Master 3 for several months now. Bought together. Both amazing, battery life is outstanding though I typically give it a top up cahrge every week or two (better to keep the battery close to the middle for longevity).

Both are amazing devices. MX Keys is my favourite keyboard for typing now.

    • +8

Battery definitely does not need charging every 10 hours! I bought one in August last year and charged it probably less than three times, with daily use.

Keys feel great and are quiet (I’m not a fan of mechanical). Multi-device switching is seamless, use it between two computers - one with the receiver and the other with Bluetooth. It has a proximity sensor and backlight kicks on when your hand gets near.

      Overall highly recommend

    • Shame here, PC user myself and wish they made the deal for PC version as well.

I assume can use this version for PC as well and the icons will take getting used to.

Anyone using Mac version on PC can comment?

      • +2

Im not even too sure which one I have, but it has both mac & pc (cmd/alt) keys and I'm using it of PC. It works seamlessly with no issues. I think the "mac" version just has cmd listed next to alt.

        • the link has photos of two different keyboards - one with the 'both' buttons and one with only mac buttons. layout however looks identical.

do you know if the there's a 'right-click' button? it looks like it's above the numpad but maybe it's something else, e.g. notepad. probably less ideal placement but at least it's still there, hopefully.

          • @DONMAI: Comparing to the photo, mine is identical, the buttons above the numpad are calculator, camera, SC & lock

            • @tejj: oh.. function-key lock to enable f-keys puts that 'right-click' button as Scroll lock by default it seems.

      • Yes just takes getting used to

      • I am using the Mac version on both Mac & PC, fee things are different on PC with the Mac version keyboard : 1.)the location of Win key and Alt key; 2.) screenshot key is not working for Windows, I’ve set the F17 key in Snagit for taking the screenshot; 3.) no Insert key

I am switching from a Filco Cherry MX Brown keyboard. Overall the experience with Logi MX keyboard for Mac is pretty good.

        • Screenshot key works for windows, what are you talking about.

          • @KLoNe: Snagit doesn’t recognise it as PrintScreen key.
That’s what I am talking about

      • Price is not as good, but PC version can be had for $155 with code SNSAVE2 here: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/184793372924

      • I did some research when I had similar deal for the mac version and it does seem to have some drawbacks when used with PC. Not deal breakers but some annoyances

      • for this price i just spend a little more and get an awesome custom mechanical hotswap keyboard

        • link?

    • I use it office from morning to evening as a developer. Battery lasts approximately 9 full days. So I charge once a week to not allow full drain. The reason the battery dies so fast compared to other KB is becuase of the backlighting.

      • +1

Yep I average about 7-10 days also, battery dies because it erroneously keeps cycling the backlight even when there's nothing nearby. If disabled, battery goes much much longer.

        • That backlight thing is a PITA. I love this keyboard but I have to disable the backlight or it’ll kill the battery in days (lasts over a month with it off). Waiting for them to fix it with a firmware update..

        • Exactly the same with backlight issue.

        • I have that cycling backlight issue too. :(

          • @SickDmith: Yup, breathing backlight is super annoying.

    • +1

I recharge mine about once a month. Using 50hr weeks and almost never turning it off in that duration.

I feel this is better than the mouse as you can change devices easily with the key.

One thing it DOESN’T do that I’d like is when switching between devices using the key press for it to auto switch my damn MX Master 3 as well…

      • +1

Hehe, just added exactly the same gripe about device switching!

    • Also you can use it for PC, why do you feel it cannot be?

    • +1

I've had an MX Keys for just over a month, and get about two weeks out of a charge. I think it depends on the backlighting setting? As for the keyboard itself, absolutely love it. So much nicer to type on than any other keyboard I've used. Nice combo with my MX Anywhere 2S, and easy sharing of both on two computers with the multi-device stuff.

My only wish is that the mouse and keyboard could be "paired" so that switching between computers using the keys on the keyboard also switched the mouse at the same time.

    • I am using it for the last 2 years now; it's the best keyboard I have ever owned (except mechs).

Just go for it; you won't even regret a single key.

      • The only key I regret is the Fn key next to the right CTRL key.

    • 10 days would be heavy use with the backlight on. I haven’t charged my work one for a few months (~40h weeks, never switched it off).

    • +1

I use mine with a pc (work laptop) then switch it over to my Mac (personal). Works fine with a PC.

    • +1

Definitely not 10 hours. Get the MX Keys; you won't regret it.

    • I have a pc version. Use it every day for work with illumination on and recharge once a week. Best keyboard I ever used. Had it for 2 years now and no battery degradation. Hope it helps :)

    • Its not 10 hrs, its about 7-10 days if backlight is on due to cycling backlight issue where it activates unnecessarily even when there is sufficient light in the room or nothing nearby. With backlight disabled, expect it to last at least a month if not even more.

    • @JoeRogan
"Reviews say the battery is terrible and needs charging every 10 hours… seems pretty ordinary."I purchased mine (for PC) about a month ago… fully charged it when I removed from box first time 9just in care)…. yet to recharge it. It is on for about 12 hours a day/7 days a week and no problems so far.
This keyboard has a wonderful look and feel.. very robust keyboard.

I cannot speak about the mouse you refer to to. I have the smaller Logitech MX Anywhere 2S mouse. It is not co-joined at the hip to the keyboard and I haven't bothered to check whether it can be integrated with the MX keys…

  • +2

Delightful keyboard - we've got them on all our work PCs. Really good. Just checked and we have mac and windows versions and all running well despite the PC they are attached to.

Hardly ever charge, they last a long time.

Bing Lee have joined the party, describing it as a clearance item. So three vendor choices, a predator, or two local businesses who might even pay some tax here.

  • Battery depends on backlight.
    Lighting wake-up function is bugged
Spacebar is often squeaky not long after first use

Wait for version 2 imho. Even if it takes a couple of years.

  • good deal.

  • I got one for my wife previously. Nice keyboard but I prefer the feel of my mechanical keyboard.

  • +1

Got one price matched at officeworks for $132.05

    • +1

You reckon can price match the PC version or have to be the same exact Mac?

      • I believe it has to be the same, but you could try it!

    • Was it the Mac or PC version?

  • This or K780?

I am doing minor upgrades to my WFH setup and need a multi-device wireless keyboard + mouse. Currently using wired ones that connect to the USB hub.
I am in no rush, could wait, but not sure if I get this one now and wait for the mouse deal later.

    • +1

I got both, definitely go for the MX Keys.

  • +2

Love this keyboard. Got 2 around my house. Had many keyboards over the years - definately this is my favourite.

    • Appears the code to be for ebay plus member only

      Note: Ebay Plus only.

Wish the mini would go on sale.

  • I was going to buy one of these but ended buying a Satechi X3
    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/satechi-slim-x3-bluetooth…

  • +2

This thing is usb-c for those who care.

I absolutely resent the fact their supposed top tier gaming keyboard and mouse are still micro USB. Absolutely ridiculous.

  • -4

One of the ugliest plasticy keyboards you could pay 100+ dollars for with poor backlighting.

  • Just posted mine back to Amazon today, don't believe the ozb hype on this one, didn't come close to the K810 on something as simple as backlighting.

    • Original K800 even better.

  • -1

    what's so "mac" about it?
i see it lists the start & alt keys both

  • Been using this exact version (cmd/alt) on PC for over a month with backlighting off and loving it! Kept it on throughout and haven't had to charge it plus it is very easy to switch devices. Also worth noting that the keycaps can be removed for cleaning if required (One of the keys was sticking so I pried the top left corner and then used a card to pry it gently on the bottom corner).

"You need to pry from the top of the key. The keys are kept from left and right. Then just pry a bit from the bottom and the key caps should slide with their metal legs."

Paired it with MX Master and my only gripe is not being able to switch devices for MX Master via the keyboard.

Logitech MX Keys vs MX Keys for Mac

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a-G8BI48r6I

  • Amazon on back order

  • Don’t get why they don’t make a white version like the mini

  • Have been thinking of getting this for a while now but contemplating if I will miss Touch ID. Anyone found this a major hindrance? I suppose I can still reach over the desk and use Touch ID on my MacBook.

    • I have one, but don't think it's a big issue. But saying that I also have an apple watch so it unlocks my macbook automatically :)

  • I ordered via BingLee and got an email from them saying they encountered an error and they misrepresented how many they had in stock at their warehouse. They offered the MX keys wireless keyboard instead or a refund. It is being discontinued.

  • Officeworks price matched the cheapest deal I could find today on Amazon which was $156.02.
I'd screenshot one I found yesterday for $139 but they wouldn't honour it because price had reverted to original price.
    Still… I got a good deal at $156.
    Thanks OP! :)
