Logitech MX Keys vs MX Keys for Mac thanks sunaus

You could probably try an Officeworks Price Beat for $132.05 if you wanted to risk it (selling out in the meantime / hassle).

    absolutely love mine

  • Fantastic keyboard. Expensive for a non-mechanical keyboard but I think it's worth.

  • Great keyboard. Good price.

  • absolutely love mine too

Good deal for a great keyboard.

I got my MX Keys in July last year and the space bar started to develop an annoying noise each time you pressed it. My keyboard use is very light and it appears to be a fairly common problem looking online.

Thankfully I got mine at Officeworks via a 'pricebeat', so it was just a matter of me calling in there the other day and swapping it over on the spot. Food for thought for those contemplating to get it from Amazon or Officeworks.

Update: looks to be in very short supply at most Officeworks atm.

I bought this MAC version and had to return it.

    Reason:
I have two Windows laptops: One Windows 10, the other Windows 11
I could connect one Windows laptop using the dongle.
I COULD NOT connect to the other Windows Laptop via BLUETOOTH

I don't want to use dongle at all.
I wanted to connect both my Windows Laptops via Bluetooth.

Will have to wait for deal on the Windows Version

    • I got one for xmas and haven't use it. You're welcome to it.
      I wanted the mx mini

      • Not able to send you a message.

      • hey mate, how can get in touch with you?

    • I thought the only difference between the windows and max versions are the colours? As either should be able to connect to the other operating system?

      • That's what I thought but for some reason it just won't connect to two windows laptops via Bluetooth.
One windows 10, one windows 11

      • nope, it is more than the color.

    • Have you tried updating the firmware? Maybe it’ll help depending on when you got it. You may have to Google around as I don’t know that Logitech provides the software themselves direct to end users, but a bunch of sites have a tool called Logitech Options available which apparently can help with firmware updates.

Might be worth a read up and try as sometimes Bluetooth stability is the sort of thing firmware can help address.

An example url to start with might be https://logitechfreeware.com/logitech-mx-keys-software/

Note I haven’t firmware updated my own one so can’t personally vouch for the tools success.

This and the MX Master 3 have been a godsend for my WFH setup.

  • Is this the only chiclet keyboard worth buying?

  • Harvey Norman price-matched immediately despite me just testing.

  • Hey OP, does it come with "unifying receiver" or you need to purchase it seperately.
I have Logitech MX Keys for PC, it did come with "unifying receiver".

    • +1

      Yes, according to their website.

      PACKAGE CONTENTS
      Keyboard
      *Unifying USB Receiver**
      USB-C charging cable (USB-C to USB-C)
      User documentation

It comes with USB-C to USB-C cable, unlike your PC version which had USB-C to USB-A cable. Dongle appears the same though, USB-A (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a-G8BI48r6I&t=169s).

      • Thanks for info.
I was at officeworks, looks like this time they won't price beat this deal. I think it depends on the duty Manager. Few weeks ago, the same store did price beat SSD.lol!

I do love my MX Keys, but if you spend a lot of time in the dark the backlight kinda sucks. The fade-out is to quick, you can't just set it to permanently on (except when it's plugged in but that doesn't seem to always work) These issues have been documented at least a year ago but logitech has done nothing to allow users more control over the devices they own.

Other then that, 10/10 recommend I absolutely hate mechanical keyboards so nice to logitech still given users choice.

  • Previous deal, I just had to get this Mac version for its aesthetic… for the PC…, three PCs. I'll admit I haven't tested its Bluetooth times two, or three yet, though I don't see it posing a problem, I could be wrong. (I am Unifying+Bluetooth+Unifying.)

It has developed a rattle, that is something loose inside that rolls about the numpad side.

What's more, it has lost one of its bottom rubber stabilising feet like what happens to most mice glides, failed glue, or torn away from what it is adhered to, in this case, is it paper?? And this is despite it having been embedded 1-2 mm - but now I can see the keyboard innards, erh!

Other bad design decisions: CD/DVD eject above backspace [and that's one of the two keys labeled delete]… dumb.

Never feel confident blind feeling for the correct volume key among other Fn keys.

Easy to accidentally press F19, brings up Win10 Quick Assist, so annoying!

In face of everything negative mentioned, I would still buy MX Keys for Mac for PC again if I absolutely needed a replacement, but would prefer the Logitech Craft were it near this price.

  • damn, wish it was the Craft…absolutely love my Craft but the keys are pretty worn…fantastic price for the MX Keys though, sounds dumb but i'm so used to running app-specific applescripts via the crown its going to take a bit of time to relearn things.

  • I’m confused by the images supplied on Amazon. Can this be used for both Mac and Windows PC? One image shows typical Mac keys near the space bar and the other image shows dual labels on the keys.

Yes I saw the description stating it’s Mac. Just confused by the images attached to this model and I’d love to be able to use it on both platforms with ease

    • Yes.

    • Hmm, it is not clear which "color" version is listed here, there, anywhere. You'll need to do the same thorough research that I had done (all forgotten now) because I wanted the model with the touch of silver. Both are for Mac but are compatible with PC with some differences, to available keys, to the etched names & symbols on keys in different spots.
