    Good deal

  • The free 2 years of Samsung care (BONUSCARE) code has been stopped though.

    • +2

      just dont break it haha.

Yeah I learnt my lesson the expensive way with the S21 Ultra. Somehow it cracked in my work bag. Something must have been pushed hard against it. $510 to replace from Samsung. $400 at third party repairers. Ended up buying a new S21 Ultra and selling the cracked one on gumtree. Got the free Samsung care this time. So I only had the new replacement S21 ultra for about 3 months lol Really liking the S22 Ultra over the S21. Overall seems much more responsive, faster, better battery and lighter.

      • Did you get your code to register for Samsung Care yet?

        • No I haven't. I didn't even realise you had to do that. Stupidly thought it was automatic with the purchase

        • +1

samsung chat told me I had to do post purchase declaration. I'm guessing they are a bit incompetent with entering imei of phones where people have added samsung care
          https://asurion.samsungcareplus.com.au/
Its a pain as you have to upload the receipt, and photo of front of device with imei showing on screen and back of phone too

          • @Sammyboy: I completely forgot to do this too.
I purchased flip 3 early December which finally arrived mid January. I checked my members app and no sign of Samsung Care + (I did not know we needed to register it)
Chat was no help so have emailed support but what are your thoughts?

            • @MKBHD: I filled out the form and haven't heard anything from Asurion. They seriously must be understaffed. Just fill out the post purchase declaration I guess

      • Better to get the bonuscare. too expensive to fix
What was the sale price range on gumtree. thanks

        • +1

Sold it for $450 I think, saying that it would cost them 510 to get a new screen

      • +1

If your live in Korea, they will charge you for parts only. Usually half of Aussie price.
thanks for supporting Korean business to make Koreans live a better life.

      • Amex free smartphone screen insurance on the essentials card if you don't burn and churn

      • If you learn how to replace display DIY

        • +1

Yeah…but a replacement oled (not just the glass) and digitiser will set u back $350 to 400 anyway if you buy off ebay or other online places. If it was just the glass that would be different. In my case the OLED was also damaged

          • +1

@Sammyboy: Seriously. The display unit sold for 350-400? That's really ripping people off

            • +1

@Leooooooo: That's the cost of oled. The tech is still very expensive. Those replacement displays cost a fortune even from the China sellers.

              • @Sammyboy: I bought the flip z 3 for 499$ last year deal. They were losing money for that.

Don’t think the newsletter code works on the edu site.

    • +8

If you request a newsletter code from the edu site it works on the edu store (got one yesterday).

      • Nice, I didn’t know this

      • +1

I can't seem to get the pop up for the newsletter to appear at all. Got ad blocker off and I've tried it on my PC with Chrome and Edge(also incognito/private) as well as Chrome and Brave on my mobile.

Also tried on my mobile data rather than my home wireless!

Not sure what I'm doing wrong!

      • @JR63 How long did it take for your code to arrive?
I know it says "up to 48hrs" but I'm wondering what people's actual experience is!

        • +1

got mine around the 36hr mark

        • Sometimes it never comes

          • +1

@mandelbrot: I think you were right! Still have not got a code!

            • @BrotherEstapol: Ive emailed them 4 times. They are useless.
Rethinking if I should buy it if the customer service reflects this lol. I say this all the time and yet I have only been samsung haha

        • About 3 weeks, many escalation requests etc etc.

    • I could not get the pop-up to show as best I tried, but I found this page via google:
      https://shop.samsung.com/au/sign-up

Seemed to work? Got the following message after signing up:

Thank you for subscribing to receive marketing communications from Samsung Australia. You will shortly receive promotion code to redeem $50 off when you spend $350 or more in one transaction from the Samsung Online Store.

If you don’t receive our automated response email with the promotion code within 24 to 48 hours after you have subscribed. Please send an email to [email protected] for the promotion code. Please check your junk or spam folders. If you are using a Gmail Account, please check the promotions tab.

…but I haven't got the code yet, so I'll let you know what happens.

      • +1

I believe that is the code that won’t work on edu portal

        • Not as far as I can see, there aren't separate codes and mine from the normal shop just worked.

          • @Techie4066: OK - mine from normal shop didnt work on edu site.

          • +2

@Techie4066: OK - so I have figured what I was doing wrong.

So the codes work fine. They won't work if I am trading in an old device. Doh!

            • +1

@rake: Yes, they had a policy change a month ago. Can't stack some promo codes with trade-in bonus.

  • how about s8 +, s8 ultra tablets?

did they drop in price as well?

    ta

    • Not that I can see.

  • +7

There seems to be a new offer, If you add both the S22 Ultra and Tab S8 to the cart it says "Your bundle discount has been applied."
making the S22 Ultra $1331.28 and the tablet $791.28.

    • +2

Additionally you can add galaxy buds 2 $175.20 and the total price of the S22 Ultra and Tab S8 only goes up $31

    • This seems really good bundle price :P

I might go for this one but I ordered the Galaxy FE tablet few days ago :/

Aaaand my S21 Ultra is still cool enough :)

  • They are still promoting the $200 off accessories but when I don't see that discount?

    • Discount should apply when you add $200 or more of accessories

      • I have added $200 or more but no discount through the edu store…

        • Worked for me yesterday when phone was for sale as pre-order. Maybe that deal is gone now it's released

        • +1

Not anymore, that was until 3rd March, pre-order season

    • +1

      umm it's ended

    • +1

Pre-order promotion, which has ended yesterday.

  • just got the s21 ultra last year in feb. worth upgrading or wait a while? i do have access to education discount

    • I wouldn't bother personally. Only big difference is the S pen - if you'd be avid user of it then maybe consider it.

There are only small upgrades on the S22 from the S22 like camera features/software and processor.

      • Agreed, the S21 Ultra is a beast of a phone still. Unless you have extra money to spend and really want the S pen.

    • +4

wait a bit more - once trade in deals come into play

      • does the value of trade ins drop as time goes on? are there better deals than $250 bonus (or whatever it is)

        • +1

Lots of past deals in ozbargain

the trade ins never really get traded in - best to sell on marketplace or gummy and you just pay the admin fee - but it might have changed recently?

I always find that you start to see bigger discounts 2- 3 months after release.

          • @agalea101: Now they withhold the trade up value until the old device is sent to them or the money will be released after the trade up code expires. I tried with my note 20 ultra, they deducted $480 from my account, I got the money back after around 10 days. I contacted Samsung, they said lots of people are not sending the old phone so they started to hold the trade up value.

            • @Mregmi: Damn - so would be best to trade a broken screen one for 60 bucks and get the trade in bonus.

              Or

dont send and get the admin fee slap and still get the trade in bonus - i wonder if samsung will hold or reject that too.

              Will wait and see

            • @Mregmi: What happened at the 10 day mark? Did you send them your phone?

              • +1

@clx: I didn't purchase anythin, money was back into my account.

    • I have S21 Ultra and big hands and I still find the phone slightly too big. With the s pen the S22 Ultra is even more wider so I guess 1 hand use is out of the question.

MKBHD mentioned also that he won’t switch to S22 Ultra from his S21 Ultra.

  • This a good deal as the 256GB version has 12 GB of RAM compared to only 8GB in the 128GB version.

    • @Timm can you please confirm the source of your find ? my quick search says both has 8GB RAM.

      • +2

        Timm means the ultra

        • Yup 256 ultra has 12gb. Received mine the other week.

          • @abs898: i pre-orders and it releases today, how have you received it early?

            • @Silent-zai: They sent phones early, heaps of people got it.

              • @abs898: I just called up and they still haven't got mine :(

                • @Silent-zai: When did you order? Mine was on day 1 of release. I think 10th?

                  • @abs898: ordered on he 18th via Optus to grab the watch as part of the deal. they said call back at 1pm(west) to get an update on whether its been shipped. will hate if it arrives on the weekend and I have to trek to the city to grab it or wait till Tuesday when I'm back at work… fook!

                    • +1

@Silent-zai: Like orders directly made with Samsung are shipped early

                      • @abs898: would've done with Samsung but I was 1 generation behind being able to do the trade in so Optus had the better deal since i was going to get the watch anyway.
I always find my self in a position where the price I pay for a bargain means I receive things late :(

      • +1

Confirm S22 Ultra 256GB ROM has 12GB RAM.

  • -1

I'm assuming these are the exynos chips? I've heard mixed things about it.

Anyone with the s22 range comment on performance?

    • +3

Nah Aussie now has the Snapdragon.

    • +12

For the S22 range, Australia is getting the Snapdragon version this time. Confirmed by those who received it early form the pre-order earlier this week.

      • Can confirm it's a snappy boi

        • Can it be rooted?

          • @raybies: Haven't tried, won't try this year.

          • +2

@raybies: depends how intoxicated you are

    • Received mine last week. It's Snapdragon

  • +2
