My unique code is the same.

    • Yeah, same. The code is not unique.

      • Its unique per country
I think Tasmania and Australia have different coses

        • And WA

          • @mecind: Wa is in australia not overseas

            • +1

@gimli: So is Tasmania, just that it's over a sea…

But if you both are saying Tas & WA have different codes to the other states of Australia, that could be true.

              Can any one confirm?

        • That wouldn't make much sense. How can JB Hi-Fi be sure where you reside? They could send you a wrong code easily, and that would result only in frustration on both sides.

      • LOL

        Buuuuut the JB website says:

"Each coupon code is unique and can only be used once until the date specified on the coupon."

I used a made up email address in checkout and the coupon still worked all the way up to 'Pay now' (view below)

  • Is this any good? How does it compare with cheaper Chinese/off brands?

i got this dash cam in my taxi and very happy with it ,,, better then cheap brand ..

After watching what happened this morning I might need this deal…..

I don't know why you'd want a speedometer in a dashcam. Not great unless you're a bloody roadhogger that people feel like shooting and clogs up traffic to begin with.

    • +1

Probably because it would be GPS calibrated, although google maps on your phone would do the same

      • Yes. Only records point to point over x seconds. So if you go around a bend your speed will be showing higher than actual

    • +2

When you have a collision with someone, showing that you're within the speed limit does help for your case. It might be hard to argue that you're not at fault if you're speeding.

      • +13

Thats when you swallow the sd card

    • -1

I had a neg on my comment. I'm assuming its some bloody roadhogger who drives slower than my grandmother.

  • +1

Note.. I believe this uses a battery and not a Capacitor. So, high temperature may affect its ability.

I picked up the other model at the error price of $49, and it has been great so far. No hot days yet to test how well these battery versions work..

  • no reviews available for this model - proceed with caution

  • does it have a specific install kit for hard-wiring it to your fusebox? Cant stand the ones that plug nto the socket with a cable hanging down across the dashboard.

    • +3

Its an accessory for about $70 or so..

Plus, yes, without it, there is a plug for the cigarette/accessory socket..

But the idea is to hide the wire along the top of the windscreen/roof lining, down the A pillar, and then under the kickwell and then up into the console.. very easy to do..

      • Is that accessory required to hook it up to the fuse box? I have it booked in for an install next week. Don't want to have to pay another $79 if I don't need to. Whatever the autoelectricion would have generic cabling?

        • +1

Yep. It monitors your battery, so it doesn't go flat.. its not just a few wires

But, the auto elec may have a generic variant that may do the same.

The auto elec might think you are supplying all required parts..

  • Is VIOFO the only one not having desktop viewer app? Even this Navman has it … "Install MiVue™ Manager software from the supplied DVD (Compatible with Windows & Mac)"

    • You just have to try and find a DVD drive :)

      • No dvd in the box, or i missed the joke

        • +1

The vast majority of laptops and PCs don't have DVD drives anymore, they are gone the way of VHS.

    • DVD? whats that

  • +1

will this list as $199 ticket price 2 days later, plus further 40% off with code like last time ?

    • +1

      OH RIP. 😅

  • Hey all, anyone know if it show the Camera/s live footage like others? Or Only what we see in the promo pics?

This is the manual(I think) on the Navman website:
    https://service.navman.com/M0100/F0110_FileReader.aspx?filei…

On page 11, under "Changing display modes" says you can switch between 4 different ones.

So I am not sure if the promo pics are just to highlight how big the (Blue) Speed text displayed on this model is, compared to others.

FYI I have the MiVue 730, and you can have the speed displayed at the bottom of the screen, but I like being able to see the live camera image.

    Thanks

  • +1

I have the mivue 755 from the telstra points deal. The screen shows what is recorded + speedo.

Don't know why this one has a full screen speedo for?

  • Thanks OP, just bought one (stacked with 4% gift card)

  • Thanks OP, also ordered - also got the same "unique" code via email.

  • +1

How does it compare to this.
    Supercheap. $229 down to $129
    Was about to get one.

    https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/nanocam--nanocam-ncp-dvr…

    • For $49 (at the moment) I don't think it's worth comparing.. :D

  • Perfect, always had good experience with my old Mivue.

Plus the girlfriend just ran a redlight today, so this will be perfect.

  • +1

Code just worked for me. I’m in WA.

  • +1

    Now it's $49.00.

    • +1

That's amazing! Confirmed works, price is reduced now on JB, and further when you insert code. Order 1, thx!

  • +1

OMG! Another crazy bargain! Confirmed aswell still down to $49!

My last "$280" dashcam from this sale was cancelled.

Considering this is another $70 RRP and a newer product, I'm assuming it may be cancelled again.. :(

    But thank you none-the-less!

    Edit: Got 2 just in-case..

    • Did you click and collect?

      • Nah, I think it was free delivery over a certain amount? Can't actually remember seeing the click and collect option when going through checkout.

It's still available by the way if you're seeing this as expired, I am unsure why. I reported last night in the hopes an admin could lower the price but he said, a lower price could warrant an entirely new post, like wtf? GTFO of here, exact same deal, the same code, it's just you could basically stack the code and it will drop to $49.

Get in quick, just in-case they start cancelling again, one of my orders was sent this morning, the other one has yet to, and I'm half expecting it to be cancelled..

  • @amora-pt Did your other order get sent too?

It's not working for me anymore, get them if you still can!

    • Yeah, one sent out from Preston and one from Ringwood, I'm in the SE Melbourne. :D

      One happy man!

  • +2

Here’s a code which should bring the dashcam down to $149 if anyone is interested. It does expire 11:59pm 12/3 - 922BW2HEXNKK2G

    • +1

  • i just bought one using the code in this post for the special $199 price. Might be worth another go for anyone interested.
