Uniden XDECT 8055+1WP Cordless Phone - $98 (+ $9 Delivery) at JB Hi-Fi

60

JBHifi have classified this as a 'factory scoop'.
The retail price is c. $200 and doing a quick search results in prices from $160 - $195.. so at $98 (+ $9) this looks like a bargain to me.

  • Are Uniden Cordless phones of good quality? I was thinking of getting a Panasonic one.

    • I have had not problems with mine (not the same model), other than one of the handset's battery packs dying just outside the warranty period. I still prefer Panasonic, as they will usually take ordinary AA NiMh batteries, while Uniden usually take battery packs, which adds expense and delay to the "repair" of a dead battery.

Other than my preference for "normal" batteries, I would rate Uniden as equal with Panasonic.

    • Always had good experience and use with them… Headset and handsfree a must…

  • According to the manual, this unit transmits at 1.8GHz, so it really IS wifi-friendly.

Some of the earlier Uniden X-DECT phones were on the same 2.4GHz band as WiFi, and weren't so friendly.

  • I've had no issues with mine, as good as any I have used - the price makes it good. Delivery was very quick.
