Mint. This tastes awful, I had to learn the hard way. Don't bite this under any circumstances.

I'd be more concerned about your teeth…

I think people are missing the sarcasm in your statement.

      • 🤣 one of my very favourite outcomes from my own inane comments. 🤣

You're after a mint chomping board, not a mint chopping board. It's easy to confuse the two.

      • +3

Instructions unclear. Lost all my teeth.

        • +1

          You read instructions?

          • +5

@mdavant: Lost some teeth not reading instructions. So i read them and lost the rest.

Can this wood be used after pulping to extract a DMT isolate?

    • +1

      This guy jKws what's up

    • +2

      Username checks out.

Pretty sure the wood would be treated so you wouldn't be able to do that but have a go and report back?

    Great deal, thanks

  • Can anyone recommend a wooden spoon or something for stirring while I'm cooking?

I'm a bit silly and don't know what I am meant to type into Woolworths to find some ideas?

Normally go big wooden spoon that doesn't scratch but saw there is one of the same brand.for salad.tossing

Could I use that for stirring the pot during cooking?

    • +2

Search for mixing spoon. If you want non scratch go for silicon or nylon. Also much better range at kmart

      • +2

Oh thanks haha I was searching for cooking spoon lol

You sound clueless! I was clueless once too :)

You could just browse for kitchen utensils or even ship by the mint brand. Even easier would be to take a look at the kitchen utensils section the next time you’re physically in store.

Alternatives to wooden utensils are silicone ones. V safe, and high heat tolerance. Won’t scratch pots or pans. To be distinguished from nylon utensils, which at less heat tolerant, but firm.

I use wooden utensils where firmness is needed, e.g. scraping pots and pans, or thick/heavy food. I use silicone for everything else.

      Hope that helps! Cheers

      • Thank you kindly 😊..

    • Aldi have silicone cooking utensils in the Special Buys starting today. I got the cooking spoon the last run quite a while ago and really like it. Much harder to accidentally melt like nylon, dishwasher safe, and this one is pretty solid too. Compared to others I've tried over the years got one that flexes too easily, a pyrex half silicone one that's too shallow, and one that is too unbalanced it keeps tipping out when put to rest in an old bowl on the side (if you get what I mean).
TLDR, excellent for just $2, imo.

I'm planning to pick up a couple more this time as spares too. I'm hoping they are the same again anyway.

    • I've recently got a Supoon and they're pretty fabulous; replaces a wooden spoon for most purposes. Can get them cheap ish on ebay

  • I think a lot of the MInt range is on sale - last I was in store I remember seeing heaps of yellow stickers

  • If anyone goes QV please hide me mint board behind the Arnott's mint chocolate biscuits

I am going there now to try to partake in glorious sale

It is so difficult to find products that are not made in China nowadays.

    • Is it even possible without going to high price range…? I'm all for it but they seem rather elusive at cheap price

    • +2

it is if you want to buy cheap. but if money isn't an issue, all you've gotta do is google "made in X" "product". Many japanese brand chopping boards out there for 10/20 times the price of this one.

    • Agreed.

  • The Mint Wooden Paddle Board With Marble Finish is also on sale. $4 down from $16.

Thanks OP I got 3 of these today to replace our old bamboo ones. These have a fair bit of weight (dense wood) and are an excellent size and look to be good quality.

The Woolies I went to (Inala) did not have them ticketed so I had to get them price checked and they came back at $5.

  • Thanks OP, headed down and got two to replace our old one as well. Was ticketed at half price off, $10 so I had my phone with the online price ready, but rang up at $5.

  • Thanks OP, was looking to replace my old chopping board

  • Out of stock in every local WW stores near me.

With 4K+ clicks, I guess I shouldn't be surprised. OzBargained!

  • Doesn’t pass my dishwasher only test.

  • Dammit, forgot to buy some yesterday.

Might try a few in-stores today to see if in stock.

Currently online it is OOS though.. :-(

  • This is only worth $5 max. I had a look at it yesterday in Woolworths and it's way too thick, maybe 15mm
These Aldi chopping boards are much better, less than 10mm thick, made of bamboo
    https://www.aldi.com.au/en/special-buys/special-buys-wed-16-…

    • Why you want less thick? For storage or what

      • Yes thick boards are too heavy and take up more space. Thick boards make me think they are placed on the kitchen bench and rarely get moved. Thinner boards are easier to store vertically against the splashback

  • I already have 6 wooden chopping/serving boards. But this one is a good deal.

  • My local (Karrinyup, WA) had 4 in stock, but no mark down ticket.

Picked up this yesterday and very pleased with it! This was not listed on sale on the shelf at my local store but came up as $5 at the checkout so thanks Embaloo + Family member!

    • Wow what postcode?

  • +1
