  • Abit too long but that 10 discount in built is not bad.

    24 months…

24 months… jb head office wtf are you guys thinking

  • +10

12 mths or I send it back

  • +17

    So Usually $500 for 12mths now $600 for 24m that’s a 🙅‍♂️

  • +8

$1000 GC for 24 months then I'm in, $600 isn't enough to convince all of us to herd in for 24 months long…lol

    • +2

They also had a $1200 off new phone with $99pm for 24mths….

      • +4

Extra $960 of phone contract to go from $59 to $99 over 24 months, to get $400 back…. nah.

      • Was $1400 off 21 ultra 256Gb at good guys last April.

    • +3

Yes $1000 GC and 24 months would be great. Save having to find another $500 deal in 12 months. They set expectations the last couple years giving $500 $59p/m over 12 months. Can't go lower than that!
If you are listening JB, you do that and you'll have 1000s of new/returning customers.

  • +5

No deal need $1000 gift card at the 24 months mark.

  • Comes to $34/mth (for 24 months)

    • +4

As opposed to about $18/ month with a 12 month only commitment…

    • 2yrs x $500gc would come to $17.33

  • Please include a link. Is this a byo mobile plan or can a phone be added ?

    • They are hoping you'll use the gift card towards a new phone. But if they have plans that include devices or discounted devices they aren't going to give you the voucher on top.

    • byo phone with new simcard

    • No link, you have to go in and ask for it. They were printing signs when I went in so it should be advertised in-store

  • I’m already with Telstra, what do i do now?

    • Port your number out and hope it's still around in 30 days. I had only ported out for about 10 days when I signed up to the 12 month $500 offer about 18 months ago but many others got knocked back.
You could also try activating a new number and porting that in to get this offer and then trying to get your other number switched over but it's a risk, you need a willing support agent and some luck, personally I don't think it's worth the risk.

      • Thanks bro! My current plan is ending so I’m thinking of switching anyways

JB and Telstra have probably caught on to the OzB process of porting and signing up and thats why they are moving their deals to 24 Months. It's a deal, but its a terrible deal compared to previous offers.

    • +3

      It's a deal

      Not a bargain :)

  • +2

This is terrible compared to past deals. Nothings against you OP, thank you for posting, keep posting deals if you see them. Just negative voting because F JB & Telstra.

    • +2

I agree, the $500 GC for 12 months seems to be a pipe dream now

  • Damn would have bite if it was 12 months.

  • I was ready to like this post when I saw this deal is for 24 months. Nope. Gonna neg.

  • They should've gone with something like 18 months and deduct couple of months with phone purchase or something like that. 24 months is the only reason people do not sign up with these plans.

  • I paid $270 for my mid-range phone (realme 7 5G) and $20 per month for unlimited calls and decent data (50GB) = $750 over 24 months
    This is $1416 over 24 months + "free" $600 phone) = $1416 over 24 months

Umm nah, but at least your on telstra.

I guess technically if you dont need a phone, but you need something worth $600 from JB then its $816 over 24 months. ($34/month for plan)

  • Still waiting for 12 mths. No deal.

  • Appreciate the post but not competitive enough to be locked in for 24 months…

  • I need a deal too as my 24 months is coming to expiry but I am not signing up to another 24 months no way.

  • Lately there has only been 24 month deal wonder when 12 month deals are coming back

  • This is only a deal if you were already about to do this. Otherwise, no takers.

  • Cant add intl calling pack on top of this.. the agent says they will process the order and its done but eventually it wont get applied and you will be charged for the intl calling .. I got a $500 intl calling bill which was waived off though..

    • I wonder why can't add it as an add-on package? Also, how about $10 port in the discount?

      • They give the $10 port in discount.. but due to my issues with the intl calling.. I totally ignored it because this was a bigger number and anyways my company was paying for my mobile bill :D

They cant add it on the existing plan if your connection is from JB.. Telstra has no say in this.. and thats strange.. I tried the "I will exit the plan" option and even then they didnt budge

      • I tried to get $20 per month, per service for a port in, but Telstra wouldn't offer anywhere near that much and the better offer was limited to 6 months with a "possibility" of getting it renewed at 6 months. I said, no way, I need 24 month guaranteed discount. The usual idea of getting pre-approval on this occasion wasn't fruitful. Gave this deal a miss because stand alone it is not good enough.

My 12 month just expired… come on jb give us a good deal!

  • I known a lot of people are making comparisons to the old deal.
But in the current market, with the current deals out now, would you consider this a good deal?

Trying to find the best Telstra deal for an iPhone for my aunt. She is impatient too so it needs to be soon.

    • I definitely would, not sure on everyone else.

  • +1

Considering I got a s22 256gb for $399, upfront on $69 x12 (then got the port in discount of $10 a month so down to 59 x12) just recently this isn't a deal

    • That's a nice deal

  • +1

they are making you pay for the so called gift card which u receive ….

  • How can they say is a deal etc … when the winner is them And not consumers ?

  • Can we still claim a port in a discount $10?

  • 24 months…. No deal!

  • +1

    24 months ….. Get lost!! 🙄

  • +1

So can we we get the $10 port-in discount stacked on top with this deal so works out $34 per month - $10 = $24 per month,. Not as good as the past $17 per month deal but not to far off, well if this $10 port-in discount is possible

Edit: another question is this $10 port-in discount is offered by Jbhifi or Telstra (im guessing instore only too?)

    • Anyone tried this recently? Like many, my previous 12 plan just expired and $69 a month ongoing is terrible
