    its shit too

    but its shitty fun

and the next shifters up are a coupla hundred

Best review ever. I own one and tried the +$100 shifters.

    • Having spent 5 figures on sim racing gear I can say this is a steal for entry level gear! Next upgrade option is a second hand TH8A for approx 100-150 so no comparison really!

  • Wish I have a 920

one of the reasons why this is perpetually cheap is that the wheels sell obviously as they are the cheapest decent wheel for xbox ps and pc… but hardly anyone buys the shifter because its slower than paddles and no one wants to put in more work to be slower… and hardly anyone drives manual in real life… hell i havent driven one in over 5yrs i think

also the plastic linkages inside feel lol but it was pretty fun going in GT Sport, I would imagine its kind dumb fun in GT7

Yep most people don’t actually care about cars or driving, not many enthusiasts left in the world.

      • Well it's also the fact a bunch of games don't support it, or at least properly.
Hence it's only going to sell to a quite limited audience.

        • +1

Forza Horizon, Forza Motorsport, GT Sport, Assetto Corsa, Project Cars, Project Cars 2, iRacing all support clutch and shifter.
What games are you talking about?

          • @onlinepred: It's not supported in every racing game, although yes many of the popular simcade/sims do.
However I know that in GT Sport for example it's a very flawed implementation. I believe it goes into Neutral on some shifts, instead of the selected gear.

@PhatTofu: Even dirt and dirt 2.0. Nearly every racing game I play supports it.

      • Depends what you play as well. I still play GT legends in a league, and kick the shit out of anyone who doesn't know how to drive a manual (or doesn't have the hardware) a bit of heel and toe has me a lot longer into the corners.

    • and hardly anyone drives manual in real life… hell i havent driven one in over 5yrs i think

      Yeah right o sunshine.

I'll agree on it being cheap. This shifter is horrible. I'll stick to driving manual irl and keep to paddle shifting while playing GT7.

  • I personally never use it. Found myself to be fiddling around too much trying to shift gears with the slogged out shifter from factory.

Paddle shift is the way to go, so much more responsive, just a pain having to shift down several times to find reverse.

I much prefer manuals, but this shifter is terrible and not worth it at all. As you said, it's better to use the plastic paddles over this shifter.

      • Aren’t they nice stainless steel? Mine are anyway on g29

        • -1

Yea it is, it’s just the rest of the mechanism is rubber and plastic that it makes it feel mushy rather than clicky. Typical Logitech quality right

  • It's handy to use as a (not very good because not analogue) handbrake or as switches.

This deal looks shifty to me.

I don't like using the paddles so I got this and modified it to behave like a sequential shifter. You can get 3d printed mods but I just used longer screws and some hairbands. Plenty of videos and images if you google it.

  • seems some are on clearance for $50 at jbhifi. overstocked or new shifter incoming?

  • What if the car you choose is 7 speed ? Using paddle shift for the top gear ?

  • +1

Will this fit my 2009 Honda Jazz?

  • Anyone know what the connector on this is? If they've changed to USB I'd grab one to mod into a sequential/Handbrake, otherwise it's just a worse version of the G27 shifter (i.e. with less buttons)?
