I'm a tradesman & you can forget about using these if trying to remove an old screw that's really stuck.
I recommend giving the screw head a few hard hits with a hammer first before even attempting to unscrew it.

Also this doesn't appear to be a bargain, more like normal price & just using Ozbargain for free advertising, eBay - $5.95 del (964 sold).

I can also confirm cheap sets are a piece of crap, I got a free set from dshop from a random order and was next to useless.

The really finicky ones I just break out the dremel and cut a groove in and extract with flat head.

      Needlessly elaborate? Hell yes.
      Works? Everytime haha

No bargain here - take your spamazon elsewhere

I bought one of these sets maybe 10 years ago. Never used it properly till the other week when my aluminium sump bolt sheered and got stuck in my oil pan.

Was able to use this to back it out of the hole.

10 years ago I think I paid $1-2 for the set, delivered from China. It took so long to arrive I forgot I ordered it

$6 for express delivery from Amazon isn't too bad. Beats drop shipped from eBay sellers

Is it a bargain? Probably not.

Is it a fair price? (Considering prime delivery if argue yes)

Does it belong on ozbargain? Maybe not

We do not compare with other place, we just only sale from amazon and we give the lowest as we can !!We are still the lowest in amazon , isn't it ??

  • Bought these to try and remove stripped hex screws from an rc car. Doesn't work, just doesn't bite into the screw even though it's made from cheap chinesium.

    • RC car screws are pretty small. Mostly M2.5 and M3

These are probably too big for those screws. Maybe try with a reverse drill bit set, otherwise carefully drill them out and run a tap through it to clean it up.

      • I actuly widened the hole to fit the smallest extractor in the set. Didn't work, I just drilled right through

        • The extractor needs to be smaller than the screw otherwise it won't work. It basically works by drilling into the broken screw and then screwing itself into the screw/bolt until it locks so that you can continue to screw it out. You also drill in reverse.

Thanks OP for bringing these to my attention, they may get me out of trouble one day.

Have bought these before and they are garbage. If you get to use them once and they don’t go blunt trying to use them, consider yourself blessed.

They also don’t work on screws, as drilling into the heads of them weakens the head to shaft and usually just ends up snapping the heads of screws.

If you really need these, get them off Aliexpress or some other Chinese dropshitter site for less.

      • Yeah, I’ll add you to all the other canned responses that mean nothing to anyone.

  • Still $5.99 on Camelx3
