Great entry router for WiFi6 in my opinion. No 160Mhz support, but gigabit for Wifi should be good enough for the majority of people.

Ever since EoP became more reliable, I'm finding myself using wifi less and less.
Gigabit only lan ports on this model :(

Still an amazing router specs wise, just missing the things that would make it an 'upgrade' for most people.
They probably already have a gigbit switch, and their wifi is probably already faster than their WAN.

Anyone with a homeserver I imagine is wired in.

  • I have HFC and on 50/20 with launtel. Currently using the rt ac68u. Not really sure how many of my devices support wifi6. Is there any advantage getting this?

    • If you've already had a RT-AC68 and looking to upgrade to this RT-AX55, i suggest you should not.
Looking for something above RT-AX86 range should get you a greater gain!

    • I upgraded from AC-86U to this because I have NAS and have devices on WiFi accessing the NAS frequently. If you don't have NAS and your 86U is working well, no need to upgrade.

  • Anyone know how this compares to the Nighthawk AC1200?

  • Somebody help pls, will this work with TPN FTTB connection?

    • It is a router, not a modem. As long as you have a modem in front of the router already, it should work fine.

  • Oh yes, apologies, didn’t pay attention. Would you know any modem router compatible with fttb connection?

    • Asus DSL-AC68U?

      • Thank you, will check prices and config online.

  • Is this NBN compatible? Need to get a new router as I've switched ISP providers recently and wondering if this will work? The optus sagemcom I had previously is absolutely garbage and I can't seem to unlock/reconfigure it

    • Yep. All routers are NBN compatible, its usually the modem that you need to worry about.

  • The white version is even cheaper now at $135, making it $6 dearer than the historic low Amazon AU price according to camelx3 (but not the lowest previous price which seems to be $119.71)
