[Afterpay] eufy 2C Pro 2K Security System (T8863CD1) & Homebase (4 Camera) $592.45 + Free Delivery @ Best Buy Australia eBay

120
AFPYDY

Original Coupon Deal

Retail price $749 (ebay price around $700). But ebay deal using Afterpay discount makes it $592.45 + Free Delivery.
There is also another seller selling at $584, but has 25$ delivery free (Free pickup in Ryde NSW though) - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/361464?page=26#comment-118… [In case, BestBuy is sold out]

Instead of paying the entire amount of $592.45 using afterpay, I used 500$+ worth ebay gift cards [which I had bought using Coles Mastercard gift cards at 10% discount (Saving around $36)]. Just kept small remaining amount to be paid using Afterpay.
I was not sure if the order will go through, as I was not paying full amount using Afterpay, but it went through.

In the end, effective price for me after all discounts/coupons is around $556.

This is part of Afterpay Day sale for 2022

  • I'm really keen to get some cams but the market is flooded with options at the moment. Are these the ones to get? Do they need a paid subscription? I feel like longterm I'd be better off running cables than using battery?

    Also $607 on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com.au/Eufy-Security-Pack-Homebase-T8833C…

    • It's best to run cables. Either ethernet with PoE or power only and use wifi cameras (often they just need 5V USB provided power).

Battery cameras cannot record 24/7, but also, they take a second or two to wake up and start recording when they detect motion, so sometimes they can miss what you need.

I guess the best option would be 24/7 recording and notifications for movement (or whatever you are interested in) then you can always go back in the footage if something was missed.

      • Got any recommendation for a specific system?

          How about this

Amazon link you shared is Full HD model & not 2K.

      • Oh yep - I was just going off the original description which had HD listed.

Other comparables looking around the $700 mark.

I've used this for ~6 months now. Here's my take:

    • They don't need a paid subscription
    • Video is recorded locally on the home-base.
    • You can use them with solar panels for continuous power.
    • One cam that I have in the garage that doesn't have solar is sitting at ~20% battery after 6 months.

    • Downsides:

      • Even though recording / storage is local, if the internet goes down, the cameras don't record.
      • Can only access recordings via the app, no web browser support.

Overall I'd still recommend them - I don't see any other comparable camera in the market without a cloud subscription requirement.

    • Just to add, the solar panels "need" to be eufy ones, which are $79-99 each, depending on sales. So this should be factored in.
These models have 2 battery cells, so they are quoted as 6 month battery life. Most of the "bullet" style eufy cameras have double the battery life.
Battery life would depend on how often the camera detects motion to trigger it to recording and save a video. I think the official specs are based on 5 or 10mins per day?

    • Thanks for that. Great news on the lack of sub. The dependance on the internet connection is a bit of a worry - can I confirm it definitely needs internet and not just an active wifi?

At the end of the day I feel like I would really only get these if I couldn't be bothered running cables through my roof? I'm thinking an afternoon of pain doing that would in the long run still provide a far superior result?

Even at full price, for only $150 more the Swann Enforcer 4k set includes spotlights, speakers and 1tb hard drive. Are we paying a premium for the wireless units?

      -edit
In fact the above Swann system is only $559 @ Catch. Is this a deal? Link

      • this comment seems like a better deal, if you don't need 4k

I've had no experience with Swann

  • 16gb storage for 4 cams that record 2k video 🧐

    • They only record like 20secs when they "wake up" (detect motion). This is to save battery power

      • Can this be adjusted? I see you can upgrade the internal MicroSD to increase capacity. What happens after the 20s if there's still action?

        • yes can be adjusted: https://support.eufylife.com/s/article/How-to-Adjust-the-Len…
the retrigger time would answer your question about if there's still action after the time has elapsed.

I don't think these cameras have a microSD slot - they send the recording to the homebase. And this is a "homebase 2" which has 16GB builtin, non expandable (at the moment). the "homebase 1" had a microSD can you could replace with a larger one, tehre's a comparison table at the bottom of this page: https://myeufy.com.au/eufy-security-camera/

This is the full hd version not the 2k

    • The title says T8863CD1 which is 2k Version. Product description also mentions 2K. But you are right, the title also say Full-HD which is super confusing.
I will check with seller, but then I think better deal is https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/133949184962

Seller just confirmed that it is 2K model.
He messed up with product title in ebay. It is fixed now & mentions 2K.
SKU & product description mentions 2k as well.

  • Good price, bought for my Dad, thanks for sharing

  • Can we use eBay joining $40 coupon with this?

  • Nice one,

  • Back in stock. Qty 7 at time of this message.

  • Will jb hifi price match this product ?

  • Still waiting on delivery of this, not impressed. Bought on the 17th of March, eBay are refunding my money because the seller is useless. Would not recommend this eBay store. Noticed another buyer has the same issue and has already given them negative feedback.

    • I'm having the same issue!

      Was yours delayed by AUSPOST?

      • Yes. I've already received my cash back from ebay buyer protection, but it's still delayed on the Auspost tracking. Feels a bit scammy to me.
