[Afterpay] EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 FTW3 Ultra Gaming LHR 10GB Graphics Card $1284.35 Delivered @ Scorptec eBay

810
AFPYDY

Original Coupon Deal

This is now cheaper. Not sure if this is a dupe since it's now a significantly different price. I'm leaning towards holding but not bad if you need it now I think. This EVGA card is better quality than the other sub $1300 3080's (see1, see2 and see3) that have been posted imo, although probably not much difference in performance. A 3080 is a 3080.

This is part of Afterpay Day sale for 2022

Less than i paid for the evga 3070ti a month ago ;_; But i needed something for Elden Ring.

  • +19

This is fun watching all of these GPUS free-fall in realtime.

    • +5

Yeah hahaha meanwhile fuel prices keeps going up 😭

      • +4

Yeah and interest rates are about to go up. Disposable income for discretionary purchases of high end graphics cards etc about to dry up. Manufacturers and retailers know this, that's why we are seeing The Dumpening

        • not everyone pay interest rates, many paid their houses with cash in suitcases.

          • -1

@[Deactivated]: Gonna poll who paid for their house with suitcase cash? Last time I withdrew something significant in cash the bank needed a few days notice as they didn't have it, and it didn't fill a suitcase…

        • Just cut down on your consumption of avocado toast

          /s

    • +3

Same here, haven't been doing much work today because I've been refreshing the OzBargain page all day and having a laugh, even though I'm not buying

  • +4

HooooollllDL…. we know the direction the prices are heading

    • -1

But "interest rates are about to go up. Disposable income for discretionary purchases of high end graphics cards etc about to dry up." :P Just bustin' ya balls!

  • +2

Just bought a 3070ti for more than this last week… feels bad man.

    • +2

return it and tell them the reason is buyer's remorse.

      • +1

Ant they will probably charge him $200 restocking fee for not being a HODLer XD

        • He could probably ask for a discount on restocking fee, ask them to accept AP as payment and get a further 15% off.

        • +1

Dont mention hodl. Otherwise you will awaken the beast.

        • those smart enough already bought last few days, the HODLers might be left without a chair when the music stops.

          • @[Deactivated]: I am sure most people have already stolen their bicycle seats and left them with only a seat post.

    • Some poor bastard bought the RTX 3080 at 12:38am before the Afterpay promo and paid $1800+

  • +4

Had to turn off subscription alerts, getting spammed too many 3080 deals lol

  • Why doesn't blocking the "Afterpay Day" tag work? :/

    • +1

Post didn't seem to have the tag originally

  • Price is $1511 before afterpay discount. Does afterpay let you buy it of your limit is $1500?

    • You need pay directly for the part over your limit.

      • Do you know how to do that? The eBay checkout doesn't seem to have any split payment options.

        • You can use gift cards. Does the code not change the amount you pay in afterpay?

          • @Traffic Cones: eBay has this on their site about digital gift cards "Digital gift cards are currently unavailable on eBay as we develop a better-than-ever experience"

            • @lorby: That's interesting, I can still apply my giftcards at the checkout. The order total also shows the price in title after applying the coupon. When I go through to afterpay, it also shows this price, so you should have no issues.

              • @Traffic Cones: I don't think the issue is using them, the issue is I can't buy any. Happy to put through gift cards to bring me under the afterpay threshold, but I can't seem to buy the eBay digital gift cards.

                • @lorby: You don't need the gift cards, the discount code puts you under the threshold.

Also, most people buy giftcards through shopback or cashrewards giftcard store since you get an additional, albeit small, cashback.

                  • @Traffic Cones: My limit is $1000 on this purchase for some reason. Even though I've been on AP for over a year, have a CC linked, and have purchased before with every payment on time.

Doubt that those gift cards through there would be emailed to me in time (which is why I was looking at the eBay cards). Oh well…

                    • @lorby: CR and SB giftcards are nearly instant. They take a few minutes at most. That is quite strange that your limit is only 1k, mines at 1.7 and I've only used it a handful of times.

                    • @lorby: You can buy eBay gift cards from Woolworths online and should be delivered within 10 minutes.

I'm in the same boat as you, except my limit is $700. So I want to be sure that if I buy a gift card to make up the difference, I'll still get the AP 15% discount off the full amount of the video card ($226.65 discount)?

                    • @lorby: People have done split payments with GCs, or just simply ring AP and ask them for an increase due to their sale you want to be included in, you may be surprised how they're willing to help.

        • Yeah, way too risky to go and buy gift cards and hope the GPU is not sold out by the time they arrive. Looks like I'm out of these afterpay deals :(
          edit …aaaand they're sold out.

          • @Triksu: Theyve had that message about gift cards for months (years) now.. taking them long enough to come up with the better experience!!

  • +1

Insane deal. I don't have afterpay, but rip for me buying 3060 ti a while ago.

Would have loved to buy this

  • +1

this looks like a dupe of this? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/689043

or the other way around? same seller, same item.

    • Thought it was significant enough of a price difference to warrant a new post.

      • +1

They dropped the price to match the website, plus AP discount.
It's a good deal and worth posting.

  • +1

Damn, went to go checkout and they don't accept debit cards with Afterpay even though I have the full amount on it.

  • +1

Got negged for saying $1229 for a 3070ti was a bad deal 3 weeks ago… lol

This is now in the territory of fair pricing, finally, 18 months later.

Only $100 above RRP for a premium model. I'm waiting for 4000 series though, too little too late.

  • Any way to get it this price without afterpay?

    Seriously tempted at this price

    • +1

You need afterpay, but you can pay as much of the price you want with gift cards (although I think you still need to use afterpay to pay some amount to use the code). So you could pay $1200 with gc and the remainder with ap

      • +2

I guess i'm hodling not keen on AP, good price though seriously pushing temptations now

        • Just use AP, you only need use it once, I mean it's 15% off, then just don't use AP after that, pay it off and be done with it.

  • +2

at what price do we stop hodl’ing tho

    • No-one knows.

In the good old days, the 2080, 1080, 980, etc. where still many hundreds less than this (I want to say around half this price, but the 2080 was "crazy" high priced, more like 1000, If I recall correctly).

I hope it settles back to that, or better, but they'll sell them as high as we buy them for. So many people fear there will be a "new normal" much higher, even when a lot more production capacity is available.

Just wait until it stops falling for a month or two, if you can.

      • My 2080ti was $1999 @ retail.

    • +1

      MSRP

    • I guess it depends on how much you value ~$100

    • +1

      RRP or Under!

      • Or do you mean "RIP or six feet under" XD

  • +4

    Hodl'ing for RTX 4000 series…

  • at $1285, this has to be close to the original MSRP right? theres gonna be a point where its not going to drop any further.

    • This model shows up as $1259 on the EVGA website, so pretty close (although shipping is included in this price). It is a bit sad that we are only just now getting back to around retail price, a few months short of next gen release.

  • I think retailers clearing out their stock of 3070 ti and 3080 10 gb.

And then have 3080 12gb and 3080 ti left along with potentially a new 3070 ti or just no 3070 ti.

    • and 3060 Ti vision gone out the door this morning under $700.

      • Gigabyte cards getting crazy cleared out, and some evga now too. But not for the higher grade MSI cards?

I would pay extra for non gigabyte though!

  • +1

Had this in my cart, afterpay and everything ready to go. But I closed before clicking confirm.
    I have a 2080S so I will HODL.
But f**k me I have never been this tempted before, if this drops below $1200 I don't think I can keep HODLing

    • -3

The only question is will they be in stock when you ready to click the buy button.

    • +2

2080S should still be super solid, I'm holding out until next gen unless I get a good offer on my 6700 XT, or a good (better than this) deal on a 3080…

      • +1

2080S is honestly is so solid, but its so tempting seeing these prices when contrasted with the prices a couple of months ago.
Need to keep reminding myself that is still not even RRP and to just be strong.

        • For sure, I was very tempted to pull the trigger on this one.

      • Agree. I wouldn't bother upgrading from a 2080 Super to a 3080. Just wait for the 4000 series.

    • They're going like hot cakes, only 6 left in stock.

    • +1

if this drops below $1200 I don't think I can keep HODLing

My brother you are suffering Temporary PC Part Buyer's Insanity.

2080S is so completely fine. If you wait you really lose nothing.

In a sane world this card would be closer to half this. At least HODL until prices stop falling for a month or two.

      Stay strong.

      • +1

Thank you for the reassurance brother, I am so glad it is OOS.

Your wise words will help me HODL.

  • OoS

    • Damn I was 2 minutes late!!

      • Yeah I added it my cart and purchased but had an error and then it was gone!

        • +3

Chin up. The deals are coming through thick and fast…

"That's what she said"… I'll see myself out

      • +1

No, they just add 5 more. get in quick.

  • +3

I honestly don't know if it will get cheaper than this for a while. This had a big discount because of afterpay special. Don't know if retailers will discount to these prices themselves.

Jealous of the people who bought one at this price

  • +2

Hell yeah wait pays off nothing feels better than this. Even tho I don’t need one

    • +2

Yep, the HODLers win in these past few days :D

  • What was the actual RRP on these things originally?

    • think launch was around $1259AUD for this one

  • I pulled the trigger on the TUF 3080 @ $1420 delivered and this stings just a little, I do like EVGA cards and am coming off a 1070 SC. But all good. My gut is telling me 4080s won’t hit shelves in good numbers for a year.

    • I also paid the same for PCCG (including their expensive Startrack Express shipping), but I'm fine because I don't use Afterpay.

  • The 2nd time EVGA 3080 ever been under $1300 since this: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/566682

Probably will never be this price again.
