As far as cheap stuff goes it's OK. Bibs aren't the greatest, but it's cheap. They have their place in the market.

Bibs are great, decent pad, leg grippers are different - just double layer of lycra but it works effectively, done up to 140km no problem. Proper bargain at Black Friday prices - though they said they would send free socks with the Black Friday orders due to delays but they didn't :-(

    • Agree with your thoughts incl. Free socks :(

Great product for the price. I still prefer Castelli for quality, but in terms of value for money, can't fault their brand with what I've bought so far.

    • Yeah, I was wondering about the free socks too, but I thought maybe they'd already shipped my order out, so my order didn't count as part of the delays.

    • I got my free socks, bright yellow.

  • Good bibs. Best I've bought

Oh dear. Maybe treat yourself one day and see what you are missing out on.

      • Nah I like to punish my junk and taint while I ride.

  • Found their jerseys to be race fit. I'm normally a medium but had to get large.

I use them for commuting and have tried them for longer rides but the bibs became uncomfortable for me. great so short rides though

    • agreed. I think it's because the chamois is a relatively soft/compressive one. I'm generally in favour of slightly denser ones.
Good entry-level bibs. The jerseys are great for the cash and it's not til you spend about 2x that you get any perceivable step up in quality (though some mightn't care/notice enough to bother).

I'm a fan of their stuff, though I'm pretty new to cycling. Shipping etc. was plenty quick and I see lots of people around Melbourne wearing it going much faster than me :)

If you are just starting out and looking to try bib shorts, I think Neopro and DHB are the most affordable. They both do the job well enough for an hour or two. We're all different shapes and sizes so the fit is personal, but they are very comfy for me.

I've bought several brands during Black Friday and Xmas sales and I personally like the Black Sheep Essential bibs the best.

The brands that I have tried are (ranked as best first, in terms of value and comfort - mind you, value is based on sale prices as per Ozbargain 'requirements'): Black Sheep, MAAP, Nukeproof, DHB, Neopro, Siroko, Pedal Mafia, Le Col.

I feel like Le Col is a complete scam (I bought 'Pro Eco' and 'Hors Categorie') - it arrives in over-the-top pretentious packaging but the finishing on the bib shorts is horrible, loose threads and uncut extra fabric everywhere - it took me a while to trim everything. The leg grippers are also way too tight.

Pedal Mafia (I bought 'Mens Bib V3') bunches up around the crotch area and gets quite intolerable down there. I think it's to do with the weird seams that don't cope with the leg pedalling movements very well.

All the other brands are good to ride for 2 hours or more, and it just depends on your budget.

  • After spending many hundreds on bibs etc when I first started cycling a few years ago I now pretty much buy most of my cycling gear off AliExpress other than the fancy stuff I keep for race days. Had zero issues other than the occasional small fit every now and then

    • I've got a set of ykywbike & spexcell bibs/jersey.

      Any others you would recommend?

      • I typically just go with bibs that have a ton of reviews, jerseys I get from Racmmer. Get a size up as always

      • would you recommend their winter gear for commuting? need thermal bibs and maybe a gilet

  • Winter gear is is not discounted by 15% but the majority of items are unless sold out.
Excellent gear for the price but you should definitely go one size up unless you're extremely fit and prefer the aero look.

  • I've got a few NeoPro jerseys. Fit seems to be true (I'm L) however I find them a tad short.

    • Sounds like you need one size up. I'm 180cm and 75kg and XL in the NeoPro jerseys. The first NeoPro jersey I bought was L and it is too small.

  • i haven't had an issue with bibs or jersey. I had to size up. Normally small but ordered medium and it fits well.
I ride mainly on trainer with long rides around 3hrs and dont seem to have a problem wearing these bibs.

  • Neopro bibs are fine. At the start they aren't as comfy , particularly the padding, but it would be fine after ~5 washes
I like they have double layers at the rear portion where lots of other (very much more expensive) cycling bibs wear through and the rider behind you gets a sheer eyeful
