  • 800Mhz CPU for those that are interested, details here: http://www.cnet.com.au/samsung-galaxy-ace_specs-339309225.ht…

  • Hello Rep, any chance of a deal the HTC One 'S' ? One XL is too big for me.

  • Will this work on Optus network?

    • +1

      Try clicking the link :p

      'yes' G or 900mhz No

      • ah there it is..haha..skimmed over it..
would reeeealy like a yes g one

      • Hi, Yes this will work on the Optus 3G network though keep in mind its not compatible with Yes G (900)

        • Rep, you should clarify.

If you are located in a major urban / metropolitan area then yes it will work on the Optus 3G (2100MHz) network. In major regional areas it's mostly hit and miss and often there's no (or weak) 3G (2100MHz) signal depending on where you are located in that region. In other regional and rural areas — sorry, no go — you'll need a phone that supports 3G (900MHz).

So if you hardly ever leave the city then this phone should be fine on Optus network.

  • User Memory 120MB , <—- is this the amount of RAM, if so , is this phone even worth half the price…it would struggle to run even basic apps ????

anyone can advise if the firmware is tied (i don't mean network locked ) to a telco? (eg. annoying optus/telstra logo on bootup)

    • A friend of mine bought one from Unique Mobiles last week and its full of Telstra bloatware.

      • thanks sk1ppy.

rep, can you confirm if this is the telstra variant?

(Optus locked I assume) Samsung Galaxy Ace $179 w/$30 credit delivered

    • Thanks.. just what i was looking for.

I bought a Samsung phone from them. Excellent service. Got phone quickly.

Phone was brand new, but Please note that the mobile box was not sealed. Looks like they open the boxes for unlocking them.

    • +1

Maybe they are selling customer returns which they poached from other stores cheap.

      • Rep Can you please clarify why the boxes are unsealed?

      • +1

I've ordered two phones from this store, and both times, the only things that had been opened inside the box were the phone and the data cable. All the other bags were still heat-sealed, and the phones still had pristine protective film on the display and camera lens.

  • I just want to warn people that although this is a lovely little phone, the processor isn't ARM-compatible, so you don't get Flash, and quite a few games won't run on it at all.

    • Sorry, ARMv7-compatible. The CPU is actually ARMv6-compatible.

  • +1

Quite overpriced. 278MB RAM is not enough. The $45 LG has 512MB and runs out of RAM quick still.

    • +1

+1 the LG for $45 is way better value. Same screen res / same CPU and more RAM for a 1/3 of the price. NOTE: Link to LG deal is here -> http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/68542

      EDIT: LG has better ppi - 320 x 480 pixels, 3.2 inches (~180 ppi pixel density) vs. 320 x 480 pixels, 3.5 inches (~165 ppi pixel density)

    • What Lg for $45?

      edit: nvm

    • +1

This phone has a better camera WITH FLASH and larger screen for those of us with big fingers. It also has a Gorilla Glass display with 16M colors (LG 256K).

The LG phone is locked, you have to go to trouble of unlocking it. It also has Telstra icons that can't be removed entirely.

Plus this phone looks way slicker than the LG.

It depends on where your priorities lie for certain features in a phone to determine value for money.

Uniquemobiles, are you ever going to stock Samsung Galaxy W? It seems like it could possibly be very popular.

    • +1 I am in the market for one as well.

    • At the moment I have not heard anything about this model

  • -3

Definitely wouldn't get this phone, not very good price. You could get 4 LG phones for this price.

    No deal.

  • +1

I have had nothing but positive experiences with uniquemobiles, bought two phones from them last year (no the first one didn't break :P) and didn't have any problems. Honestly can't remember if they were unsealed, although i'd say they probably were, as they were unlocked, but loaded with network specific firmware.
