Cashback is ineligible for Prime membership subscription purchases, Gift Cards, Kindle Unlimited, Mobile Apps, Audible, Echo Accessories, Kindle Access

Can't get cashback when using a gift card. Good deal nevertheless.

  • Does this include video game preorders?

    • +2

Unless it has changed recently, you can get cashback on a game preorder as long as the game is coming out within 60 days of when you order it.

I think it’s because Amazon doesn’t charge you until they ship the game, so they can’t approve cashback when you technically haven’t given them any money.

      • Just redid my order for Kirby this Friday!

  • +2

Auspost GC will not be delivered in time to stack with this!

    • Seems like the deal stayed on from yesterday, maybe the upsized cashback will continue on until the gift cards from Aus Post arrive?

  • +1

guess this will be a bit cheaper too… Switch

  • Does anyone know if newpipe be sideloaded onto the 4k Max? See a lot of posts saying the 4k but just wanna make sure :)

    • Yes, You can.just downloaded downloader app and download newpipe url and install there are many YouTube videos.

I am always wary with Shopback. The last time Shopback had one of these extra cash back rates on Amazon, all my transactions were denied. The reasons cited by Shopback were not valid in my situation.

I never seem to experience issues with CashRewards, only Shopback. Hopefully the cash back will be honoured, but just be prepared to have it denied.

Never understood why people bother with these crappy cashback deals. Just get a Crypto.com card and get instant cashback on all purchases.

      • Do you have to pay in crypto or can you use fiat?

        • Pay in fiat, cashback in CRO

      • +3

Just get a Crypto.com card and get instant cashback on all purchases.

        • you need to buy and hold a certain $ of their native CRO coin to get the reward back in CRO (not fiat) (except 1% in which case no CRO required). And the amount back in CRO is dependent on how much CRO you stake. Why would I choose to stake AUD$50K to meet eligibility to get 5% CRO back? That is an insane amount to stake to get 5% back on purchases
        • capital gains tax (CGT) may apply from selling the CRO
        • the waiting list to get the CDC card is long. I have been waiting months
        • +2

I think you're very unlucky if you've been waiting months. Everyone I know got there's in under 2 weeks.

          • @Jamiea: Thanks. I'll follow it up, might have fallen through the cracks. I signed up from this deal in November

    • never seem to experience issues with CashRewards

I've had missed tracking with them, and some cashbacks take a ridiculous amount of time (> 6 months!!).

I think these cashback schemes are a bad thing in the long run - there is no such thing as a free lunch. In some way or shape retailers will get their money back and only the guys in the middle will benefit.

  • Devices look more expensive than back in December, even with 10% cashback

  • +1

Stack with the $95 Amazon gift cards from Australia Post for more savings.

…. still in the mail… australia post shipping might..take a while due to shipping delays lol

    • still in the mail

The deal was only posted yesterday. They send the GCs via regular post.

  • Physical Books

Does this category ever get non-zero cashback rate? Just asking as I need to buy some physical books.

    • +2

I'm almost certain books used to have a standard CB rate. I think it was around 3% but has been 0% for a long time now.
I don't think I've seen it added back since then.

  • +1

    0% Cashback
Electronics (Includes Bluetooth Speakers, Headphones, Speakers)

    Meh…

    Thanks OP, bought nothing.

  • What's the point of video games consoles if they don't have PS5s in stock? :'(

… although the recent GT7 update seems like maybe it's worth waiting to see what happens.

  • Wouldn't waste any time or effort with Shopback.

I had two cases in the past 12 months where cashback was missed, I made a claim giving them all my evidence and then after 2-3 months of waiting for approval - simply got an email stating:

"We have appealed this missing cashback claim with the merchant and found that the merchant has deemed ShopBack ineligible to earn commissions on this transaction which results in us being unable to pass the cashback along to you."

They also cited possible reasons for this including super basic stuff like not using ad blockers, clicking other links, promo codes etc…

After 4 years of using cashback services and many successful cashbacks, I think I know how to do it by now…

    • That's exactly the same situation with me where a number of my transactions were declined.

I just get a feeling that Shopback systems are not very good at tracking, and they are not really incentivised to fix it as they would still receive the referral reward without having to pass it on to you.
