Promotional credit expires at 11:59 pm (AEDT) 25 March, 2023. • This promotional credit entitles you to $10 off your future purchase of “eligible items” shipped and sold by Amazon AU. “Eligible items” excludes products sold by third party sellers including Amazon US (Amazon Global Store) and Amazon UK

    Note this ^
I wouldn't think 2023 or eligible items can trip anyone up, but just in case

  • Great deal, thanks TA

  • +1

Don’t see any confirmation messages after applying the code. I guess I am not eligible.

    • Starts on the 23rd?

      • check ur watch my friend

      • It's 23rd right now

        • +19

Nice try but not falling for it this time fellas.

            @dins: Ah… Queenslanders

    • +1

Did you buy Ultimate gift cards? Make sure you click the Ultimate checkbox on the left to see what cards they offer.

Edit: I'm guessing that's how this works.

      • Yep tried with both Teens and Home.. no luck with either of them.

        • +1

Hmm. I just added a $100 Eats card and it let me use the code.

          • +3

@ozbs25: Are we supposed to see some sort of confirmation message? My checkout accepts the code but there's no confirmation that it did anything.

            • @DiscountDevil: Hmm.. that is weird. The screenshot in the OP shows a green tick.

              • @strike1: Nice pickup. When doing it though the Amazon app there's no such tick but going via a pc browser showed the confirmation. Thank you!

  • +7

None of the ultimate gift cards got amazon included? or I'm blind?

    • +4

Hah am looking for the same thing too but couldn’t see any.

    • +15

I couldn't see it but I didn't use a microscope. Rules me out. I don't see myself buying stuff at any of the regular retail stores these days.

      • +1

Ultimately this is what it comes down to ain't it.

    • Following….

No Amazon I'm afraid. Unless I really need new glasses.

Amazon does not participate in the Ultimate gift card scheme, and I don’t think any of the participating retailers allow you to purchase Amazon gift cards.

Thank you very much for the searchable table. :D

        • +1

No worries, you can always find a copy of it here.

Ultimate gift cards also has a full list of participating retailers on their website. Admittedly, it may be easier to use that than the table!

          • +2

@WookieMonster: Should probably be pinned at the top automatically or in the OP for offers like this. Or at least a link to the table.

          • @WookieMonster: Yes, that page is much better than my link. A little prettier than the table, but it's at least a few clicks away. Ain't got time for a few extra clicks.

    • If you buy any of the ultimate gift cards, you will get $10 amazon credit

      • Yeah, I don't get what the issue is. No one's saying the Ultimate gift cards can be used at Amazon, just Amazon promoting these gift cards, that's it.

  • Is it not 12.01am AEDT yet?

  • +2

I believe these Ultimate GC are the Prepaid Debit Card version?
If so, probably the best way to retain card values from expiry is to purchase JB or TGG giftcards using these (eg. Home Ultimate)
Tried in the past and was able to purchase JB giftcards using the Visa card number (expiry 12/29) to pay

    • Did you purchase the JB giftcards online at jbhifi.com.au? Or did you have to buy in store?

      • It works for me when purchasing via jbhifi.com.au
But I can only do maximum 2 Giftcards per day
when purchasing the 3rd giftcard the transaction declined

probably JB have some kind of fraud detection to prevent the same IP address to purchase multiple giftcards with different visa/master card numbers

  • +8

Same discount for most of these gift cards if you prefer it back in the form of Woolworths Rewards points through this deal

20x Everyday Rewards Points with Ultimate Gift Cards

    • +8

I should note that deal excludes the Ultimate Her, Ultimate Him and Ultimate Beauty & Spa gift cards!

  • Can you use these cards online at all?

    • yes, they are Visa prepaid card
so you can do online purchase by putting Visa card number

      • Ok great! bought the one with the EBGame! Thanks

        • +7

The only issue I found for online purchase is
the amount to spend has to be less than the prepaid giftcard remaining values

As most online shops doesnt allow split payment
meaning if you want to spend $120 while your GC only has $100
          the transaction will decline

The only way to bypass this restriction is to first use the giftcard to buy the store's giftcard (EB games)
and use the store credit + credit card to pay the remaining balance

      • +1

Can i use these as a Visa card at any store then? Coles? Amazon? Is visa blocking it from working outside the listed stores?

        • Correct, while its a Visa card number only those listed store (per Ultimate GC type) will work
other non-listed stores will just decline the transaction

        • +1

The gift card issuer checks whether the merchant requesting payment is actually coming from a participating retailer, and if they determine the merchant is not a participating retailer, they'll decline payment.

Interestingly, the gift card issuer is so strict that you cannot actually use the gift card at some locations of participating retailers! You should read other comments in that deal I've linked to you so you can see some of the not-so-fun stories…

          • @WookieMonster: I bought ultimate HIM before and they could only be used in store, not online, this must be a new change? Eg supercheap auto etc refuse and cannot accept transaction unless I came in, instore using their eftpos machine. I think they used to be like an eftpos savings account thing.

            • +2

@dammit: There are two types of Ultimate gift cards you may see being sold at the moment:

              • Gift cards that operate on the EFTPOS network, and
              • Gift cards that operate on the Visa network.

Blackhawk Network originally issued Ultimate gift cards that operated on the EFTPOS network, and I suspect it was due to lower operating costs of utilising the EFTPOS network vs Visa or Mastercard networks. However, Blackhawk Network started issuing (in conjunction with Heritage Bank) Ultimate gift cards that operated on the Visa network in Sep 2021, and they no longer produce the older Ultimate EFTPOS gift cards. (Ultimate EFTPOS gift cards are not very useful when there are lockdowns and there is no way to exchange the gift card balance for a digital gift card…)

You may see the older Ultimate EFTPOS gift cards for sale in stores today and they’ll still work until their expiry date or until Blackhawk Network decide to kill off the Ultimate EFTPOS gift cards (which could be in the next couple of years).

I think you can use Amazon Credit to pay and still eligible for the offer?
Just get a discounted Amazon giftcard to bring the discount further (2% CB from shopback)

    • Yeah, checkout is offering me "Use your $xxx.xx gift card balance". Noice!

  • +5

Not that great of deal. Amazon credit disqualifies you from Cashrewards etc. I'd rather they give you a bonus $10 gift card so then you can stack $110 with the cashback deals.

    • Unless special promos from CR / SB
otherwise many categories are now with 0% cashback rate anyway
So there are still many items to spend the $10 credit

  • Are these gift cards easy to use via your mobile wallet?

  • +4

You can pay with Amazon GC… Save 3%

  • I was about to grab an EB Games card to put towards for PS5 bundle I have preordered from last week.

Good thing I didn't since they decided to cancel my order without telling me (checked order status on their site). The sooner this awful company goes bankrupt the better.

    • Did you mean Preordered ps5 from Amazon or EBgames?

      • +1

I preordered from EB Games. Was going to get an Ultimate Student card through through this deal to put towards that preorder.

        • Thanks for clarification, what time is your order date? Ours isn’t cancelled

          • @Edamamme: Ordered the Horizon bundle on 18th March

            • @cook99: Ah okay, friend ordered same bundle on Tuesday 15th March, theirs wasn’t cancelled. Must’ve been different deal

              • @Edamamme: Yeah they did another order opening a couple days later, maybe they had extra units or cancelled units available…
Now I have to go into a store to get my $200 deposit back (and get pressured to put it towards future preorders in the process like last time they did this to me).

                • @cook99: They shouldn’t of allowed it then. That sucks man I’m sorry, I hate it when they D**k around like that.. hopefully wherever you order next is seamless

                  • +1

@Edamamme: Thanks man, it won't be through EB haha. Done with their shenanigans

  • When would we receive the giftcard? Its been 1 hour now…….

    • Received mine in a few minutes as well as confirmation email for promo credit

      • +2

Hi, Is there any description that appears at checkout when entering promo. When I enter it the code disappears and nothing that states “you have enter promo x”

        • I didn’t get anything. Worst case it’ll just be 3% off jb gc rather than 13

        • no confirmation on checkout page but receive email soon after

    • It says within 5min but it has been 15+min for me now and still nothing. Did you get yours?

      • never mind, got mine after 20-30min.

    • How long did it end up taking you?
I've been waiting for about 90 mins now…

  • Thanks op

  • Great deal. Thank you heaps Mr TA :)

  • Good to see they have their arch rival Ebay in there :)

    • +3

eBay? Really? I don’t see eBay on any of the 12 gift cards participating in this offer (or in my table above).

Btw, Amazon actually sell a special version of the Swap Celebration gift card that specifically excludes eBay. If you go to pretty much any other retailer, the Swap Celebration gift card includes eBay.

      • My bad , I just scrolled the link and saw it no time to read everything .
        I'm going to cry .
About the only useful one not on special every 5 secs is EB Games .
JB HIFI is like a 50% off supermarket special nowadays in the range of 10-17% .

  • +3

Would have been great if Amazon GC were included.

  • +3

got the gift card email for $100 and another email to confirm the $10 credit bonus. Paid for with 3% off amazon gc. Was about a 20-30min wait between order and email. There was no visual confirmation when the code was enter at checkout.

  • 3 hours now still showing processing

    • Probably because it's your first time ordering a gift card from Amazon. That's what they told me.

    • When I placed my first order for a gift card from Amazon AU, I had to wait over a day before I received the gift card.

When I placed my next order for a gift card a couple of months later, I only had to wait an hour.

I've never had a gift card from Amazon AU delivered in 5 minutes or less.

      • My first time buying non Amazon gc on Amazon. Yes

    • Just received it. About 6 hours.

  • Estimated Delivery : 5 Minutes

    5 Hours later… nothing… lols..

Ordered gift cards before too.. was gonna use for dinner tonight.. guess not..

    • Pay now, eat later?

  • Will it work if I use Amazon Gift card to purchase it?

    • +1

according to multiple comments above, yep

    • +1

I was able to use my Amazon credit to buy.
Just make sure you manually enter the promo code as well.

  • Thanks TA, but no CR bonus?

  • Cheers!

How do people keep track of all these gift cards? I quite like prezzee app wallet but dont buy everything through it. E.g. just bought these $100, plus buy seniors 5% off wish gift cards etc etc. Would love a system to keep track of it better so nothing expires.

  • Stupidly i didn't swap this out for the credit applied to Deliveroo like I had done previous… now i have a weird amount as balance on the card and would be pretty difficult to spend it.. any ideas?

    • I'm in the same position, except I'm not sure how much is left on the card now.
      Kinda regretting this purchase now.

…hmm I've just looked at my amazon account, I don't see any $10 credit. Anyone know where to look?

      • +1

when you buy something sold by amazon there's a $10 promo credit applied to the purchase.. it's not like a gift card.. shoudl be an email that explains it etc

        • ah ok thanks.

the credit was used on a subscribe and save item, so i didn't realise.

Let me know if you figure out what to do with the remaining dollars on your gift card!

          • @andresampras: i checked the balance and got it to .26 cents left on the last order.. i guess i can almost live with that lol, i'll save the payment option still with deliveroo incase but something tells me that that's gonna be my donation to the gift card company
