  • awesome price but you might want to put price in title

  • $19 shipping VIC. That makes it just under 500 bux, which is pretty good.

Just be aware that Kogan seem to have no control over their HK distributors, ans so lots of people are receiving broken seal phones, which could be refurbs or anything. At least Kogan are replacing/refunding those though, unlike other online retailers I won't mention.

    • +3

Use to be, however they have turn things around and everyone I know so far has received sealed Phone.
People are also saying that DWI and Eglobal send out the phone locked and sealed broken.

I received my Note today from Kogan, for an order I placed on Monday night (However there was a public holiday on Wednesday, which delayed things). Once the order was actually processed (on Thursday), it was shipped via FedEx express and was in my hands by Monday. So I'm quite pleased with the service. Would have received it by Friday or Saturday (FedEx) if not for the public holiday.

The box was sealed and in excellent order. However, this is the European model, so an Australian adapter had been included (which is quite compact and well made by the looks of it) as was the English manual to supplement the original French manual.

All in all, a great experience and a great price!

    • +3

Why won't you mention those online retailers? Name them and shame them!

    • I bought a NOTE from Hong Kong about 6 months ago, and it came with 1 extra sealing sticker for the box.

I also remembered I got 1 for my HTC HD2 when I bought the official product in Hong Kong too. I think they usually have 1 extra sealing sticker for opening the box and put security device inside etc etc

But I bought another NOTE from DWI , the box is properly sealed but and it does not come with extra sealing stickers.

I bought mine at the old $519 price, I have heard others arriving with broken seals but mine did come fully sealed and arrived in 4 business days so I was very happy with Kogan. This new price is a winner. Fantastic phone I absolutely love mine.

    awesome for Draw Something

I bought this 6 months ago from Expansys for $760… sigh

Still no regret. I just wished the price didn't drop this much :/

    • Always happens when you buy for RRP on release. Want a free tissue to cry your sorrows(aka "OzBargain transgressions") away?

    • +7

You've got 6 months of play whereas others are still dreaming, so cheer up :)

  • great phone, the pen takes a little too much pressure to start writing.

Great price but these things are really huge , not for everyone .

Cant decide on this or the Samsung tab 7.7?? Sigh..

      cool story bro.

But sending messages can be expensive :(

    • I got one for free from my work, you lose! points fingers and laughs

  • Dang. I purchased April 24 @ $499 and haven't received it yet. Would like to have at least received the phone before the price dropped further!

    • +1

Kogan is known to match the current price in cases like this. I know because I've bought my Note from Kogan.
Just call them and explain them the situation and they'll refund the difference.

      • Can confirm Kogan did this for me too when I bought my Galaxy Nexus from them and their price dropped a few days later. Jump on the phone!

  • +1

Good price! Too bad it isn't the white. The boss lady really wants it in white.

  • Wow, excellent price. Looks I need to grab one now. Anyone knows where to see a demo phone in Australia?

    • Most large phone shops will have these now…had a play on one @ CJs couple of weeks ago
maybe ring first to make sure you can have a play (not just pick up the display)

  • So how quickly will they send these? I need mine by Friday

    • Don't hold your breath. Ordered mine April 24, and theoretically should receive it May 2.

    • Basically its DHL International and they take a few days to send. You have a chance of receiving it on Friday, but it might not.

  • Is it possible to claim back TRS on this purchase if going overseas soon?

    • +3

no because you don't pay gst on it

      • Thanks, thought so.

  • +5

    519-479 = $40

    • Lol. I was gonna mention that too! Just wondered why nobody saw this error. Guess OP was too excited!

      • You're right, I got too excited to share this deal with other people, because Galaxy Note is a fantastic phone.

  • Man so tempting damn you OzB!!

  • -2

does anyone know if i could get tax refund if i'm going overseas within a month?

    • +4

      No GST included

    • +3

answered above,NO,as you didn't pay GST in the first place and that's one of the very reasons why it's cheaper than Aust stock.

      • that's only 10% about another $47 hardly normals still wants 899 for it and I haven't seen it for less then 700 locally

  • This is so so tempting…finally has come down to less than 500 mark

  • 519-479=40 saving

  • +1

    Drop 40 Only

  • Might pick up the note at this price!!

It better be properly sealed and no refurbished bc

  • Samsung galaxy 3 supposed to be out this month. May as well wait and see what it's like before buying the note or nexus. As their prices are dropping, probably no need to hurry.

    • +4

Official S3 announcement this Friday. It better bloody have microSD, else I'm buying another GNote.

    • +2

With the puny screen? (a former Google Nexus S owner who's now squinting at his iPhone 4S)

  • Well i'm on Note number 2. Love 'em!

In case people arent aware, the 64GB Sandisk microSDXC works fine and dandy in the note. Sweet 80GB off capacity! The price of those are dropping quire rapidly:

Damn, you made me order one.. Mi Goreng for the next month.

  • Just received mine from Kogan, ordered last Monday (26th). Sealed, Australian adapter supplied in a separate box. Both boxes wrapped in serious bubble wrap. French manual, just about to go find the english version…

  • I purchased my note a few weeks ago and tried to ask for store credit or refund since the price dropped so quickly. This was the response from Kogan:

"Thank you for your email. We cannot discount the price of the Samsung Galaxy Note any further. The prices do fluctuate from time to time depending on market conditions."

    • +1

      Which is fair enough.

      • Sure is, just thought I'd post in here and save others from trying.

  • Hi a question for those who bought the Note from Kogan. Do you get a samsung stereo headset with mic in the box? The specs on their website don't mention it and I emailed Kogan to check and I got a response saying they don't supply a headset. I would have thought it would, as Samsung usually include this in most of their high end smartphones.

    • i think it should come with a earphone (instead of headset) with mic as standard.

  • Finally couldnt resist any longer and decided to get one. XD What are u guys gonna use for a case? There are a few on ebay and I'm leaning more towards one with a stand…

  • All good. Just got an email from Kogan and they said one of their colleagues misinformed me, so yes should have a set "earphones" with mic so you can use as a handsfree device.

  • Damn you OzB, I bought one too :-)
Also bought the 16GB MicroSD just listed for $9.95 delivered

This Note going to be a hot cake soon. SGS3 wont be here till next year for OZ release.

    • +1

      Shall we have a bet?

      • Was just in JB & had a play with a Note. Was $864 outright at JB. Makes me feel even better that I paid the Kogan price. Absolute bargain. Also best price for an SGS3 is >$700 internationally.
I would tend to agree with donkuok for the moment :-)

        • The SGS 3 is kinda ugly imo… Glad I bought the Note!

        • Sure is ugly, I am contemplating buying a GNote at the moment but I want a white one and not sure if they are coming out with a new model GNnote.

  • Guys, link above no longer works. URL is is http://www.kogan.com/au/buy/samsung-galaxy-note-blue-unlocke…

  • still waiting on my Note to be dispatched. Ordered last Thursday (I know I am impatient). Funny thing is I ordered 2 tablets from Kogan in the same order & the tablets arrived today.

For those who received their Note's, how long did it typically take from order, to dispatch, or arrival please?

    • Guess there were many backorders due to higher demand.

      • I just got the email telling me it's been dispatched :-)
        Thank you Mr Kogan!

        • Man, Kogan & DHL are legends! DHL picked it up from the Hong Kong warehouse yesterday & it arrived at my workplace in Vic today. Unfortunately I have to wait till tomorrow because I had to leave early today :-( Something to look forward to tomorrow :-)

  • Any difference between buying either SGNOTE or SGS2 from place like Kogan compared to "Australian stock" or a place like All Phones (outright)?

  • +1

Noticed that there is no postage being calculated on my order last night (or various items I have tried this morning). Basically a further $29 savings here folks - take advantage of it whilst you can as I think it is a glitch in their new website/system!

    • I also ordered yesterday.Shipping was free.

    • Just tried adding 1 to the cart and postage to 3023 is now 19.00 total price $508

      • Yeah we missed out!

  • Price has gone up by 10 dollars, 489 now.

    • Price for Note +$10
      Price for S2 $-10

  • Note or S2 someone help with decisions!

    • Note, note, note :-D
Really depends if size is an issues for you or not. I chose the Note. Wasn't a hard decision once I had a play with one.

  • -1

I prefer Note over Galaxy as it is better in every single aspect I believe except the brightness of screen however the pixel density is better which makes up for that… and also the size…

  • Received mine yesterday! Pretty annoyed at the moment though cause all my apps are gone and the ICS update isnt yet available for the note. Does anyone know how to sync my old apps from my s2 to my note? Tried to restore an s2 backup (from kies) but that didnt restore my apps. :(

    • Mate I moved from a HTC to the Note no problem. I used 'app backup & restore' & 'sms backup & restore'. First one gave me a copy of all my apps. Second one gave me a copy of all my sms messages. Just save them all to your microsd then move it to your note & restore away.
Both apps are available in the Google Play store.
      Hope this helps.

  • Mine arrived yesterday & all is good mr kogan :-)
Coming from a HTC just 3 things annoyed me. 1st is the need for a physical home button. HTC survives just fine with a soft button. 2nd is how the apps installed are not shown in alphabetical order. Some may say these minor things, everything being faitr everything else about the phone is great & I've already forgotten that its so big.
Guys this is a great phone.

    • How's the size?

      • You get used to it. Now when I look at an iPhone I almost have to squint. :-)

  • the price goes up 10 bucks! should i buy? or just wait?

    • Mate very happy with mine & not looking back. Even at $10 more its still a bargain
