  • Does anyone know if this amplifies as well? Curious to know if it would work with a turntable

    • if this amplifies as well?

      No, only transmitter and receiver.

      • No, but seen someone use this to make their old top quality speakers into blue tooth speakers.

  • Does anyone know if this auto connects? I currently have the logitech one and it automatically connects to any device in range and takes priority even over the car in the driveway when I leave the house. I just want one that I can connect when I want to without having to forget the device each time.

    • This is something you control on your phone.
On my Samsung device, I can select where I want the audio to go - in your scenario, you'd jump in the car then choose the car as your audio output.
When you don't want to use the Logitech in the house, choose the phone speaker as the audio output.

      • I have a samsung as well, I dont want the phone connected to the bluetooth unless I want to use it. Doesn't changing the output still leave it connected?

        • Ok - then leave the Bluetooth on your phone switched off.
Turn it on when you want to use it.

Bluetooth is designed to automatically connect to paired devices…

  • Can i hook this to my Sonos 5.1 setup and cast YT music to it from my android device?

I just want to cast from YT music app to play audio without turning my TV.

    • This is a Bluetooth device and doesn't support Chromecast. Using it will be equivalent with pairing your phone's Bluetooth to the speaker directly (I know nothing about Sonos).

      • thanks

    • No casting - just connect your phone to the speaker and then start the YouTube video you want to hear 🤷🏼‍♂️

      • thanks

This doesn't appear to be a bargain, more like normal price & just using Ozbargain for free advertising.

Taotronics model which looks exactly the same is $33.83 delivered (73 sold)
If you don't need an optical connection - $10.85 delivered (308 sold)

Posting a deal with a code for a fake discount is misleading. Say no to Spamazon.

Thanks for pointing this out. Neg for spamming behaviour.

    • Not a bargain.

    • May look the same, but it is a different brand. And this one is also cheaper. So still a bargain for me.

      • You're correct, they are different brands & aren't exactly the same. Taotronics battery is bigger @ 620mAh, working duration: Up to 24hrs.

        HERILIOS is 350mah, 15 hours.

        • I will be connecting it to a 5V power supply anyway, so at least for me that won't matter.

      Good spot WN.

For literally less than $1 difference I would go the Taotronics brand.

      Inflated RRP spamazon.

  • Ive seen someone use this to make their old top quality speakers into blue tooth speakers.

    I was quite impressed tbh

  • These are great if you want to downgrade your huge speakerless PC monitor to a huge 4K bedroom TV, say to a hdmi Fetch TV Box like I have and then hook up a Bluetooth portable speaker,. like the deep bass Sony Bluetooth portable speaker, Fetch provides the TV tuner this device allows you too hook up any Bluetooth Speaker even through the optical out of the Fetch TV Box

Plenty of those Foxtelnow TV boxes selling cheap on eBay which has a built-in TV tuner also and of course smart features like the Fetch which provides catchup TV and to add streaming services

  • If you buy two, can they link together two devices, neither of which has Bluetooth?

    • Umm I actually bought another brand, mine might be better, so I can try to test that for you, so your saying 2x Bluetooth buds connecting to this dongle at the same time both receiving the same audio stream, I guess one situation for this is having 2 friends over watching TV,. so no audio volume from TV speakers say not to disturb someone if they are sleeping in a seperate bedroom from the TV lounge room, which would be very handy

Edit: I bought this "JEOEUS 5.0 Bluetooth Transmitter/Receiver" for $26.99,.. also has

2 In 1,.. RX & TX on the Bluetooth 5.0 side
And RX & TX on the Optical & AUX side
Important Latency is low so no lipsink issues when watching streaming video

JEOEUS 5.0 Bluetooth Transmitter Receiver,Bluetooth Transmitter for TV, Optical Fiber Digital , one Drag Two Audio Transmitter, 3.5mm AUX, RCA, Low Latency Wireless Audio Adapter, Suitable for Earphones https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B08FT3G9DF/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_2…

    • Sorry mis-read your question though difficult to understand also, can you explain better your question

  • it's too bad they don't make these things for 5.1 (6 channels) home theatre

i have a $3 dongle that does this for stereo (2 channels), works great even if it isn't aptX HD - oh wait.. these aren't HD either

seems expensive if you ask me, not sure why you'd need optical for stereo either, audio jack/rca works just as well outside of a connection limitation on your device

    • for those who missed out on this "deal" here is what im using for a tenth of the price

      https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001576546192.html

usb is to power the device only, can operate as receiver or transmitter, if you have a plex server or modem close to the amp you can use a free usb port as a power source if not you can just use an old phone USB power adapter, 3.5mm audio jack goes straight to your receiver or line-in on active speakers
