  • Still no recharge deal, only new customer.

    • +2

you may add an vodafone $30 starter pack to port out and port in.

$30 vodafone starter pack can be used up to 28days with 40Gb data and we charge you only $3

    • You do get the old grandfathered renew if you have been with them

      • +1

No you don't. As they said at the time it's only $150 for one renew. I'm about to renew the second time and now it's $200.

So I'll be porting to voda then back.

However, these sims are $150 delivered on eBay

I'll use shopback $3 gift card bonus and 2% cashback to buy from eBay too.

        • They charge you [i just renewed last week] $200 and credit you back $50, they also give you a extra 30/40G data bonus

Its my 3rd renewal with them

          • @8200: Was it automatic or via customer service?

            • @justtoreply: I phoned them, then they just said do it through the app, all went through automatic, you should phone them to confirm for yourself

              Others here can confirm

I complained, why not just charge $150 and give the extra data from the off instead of all these game, "it is they way we do it"……

              • @8200: Hello, hoping you can help to clarify, I'm just trying to recharge and I finally was able to get into the Boost app. I am able to see the recharge options in the app - just wondering if it showed up as $200 or did it show you a special price with $50 off? Or was this applied after you paid full amount first? Thanks!

                • @yay88: They charge $200 then u get the $50 back, weird way but anyway….

                  PHONE them directly to confirm

                  Cheers

                  • @8200: Do you get the $50 back as phone credit? Or will they credit it back to your credit card?

      • Not really from the boost app recharge

So I'll be porting to voda then back.

Don't really want to do that.

        • Well shopback paid me $25 to receive a voda sim and $150 is less than the $200 that boost wants so for $75 it's totally worth the effort to me

        • +1

Boost Mobile allows you to transfer existing numbers to a new starter pack. This can be done online through their website chat. They'll firstly help activate your new starter pack and then transfer your existing Boost number over. In essence, this starter pack deal can be treated like a 'recharge deal' without the need to port out and port back in.

          • @InspironN5110: Confirming Inspiron's process. Did mine last week, done in 10 minutes or less…

            .

            • @w1nthrophy: You got the old number on the new SIM in 10 mins?

When I did it for my number they didn't explain the process of a temp number on the new SIM, so when I got an email saying your (wrong) number has been activated, I had to contact them again to clarify and thats when they told me they use a new number then manually transfer the existing number to the new SIM.

When I did it yesterday for my wife, they explained the process better but it's been 17 hrs and the SIM still has the new number on it and the old SIM has not been working since…

              • @aragornelessar: Yes @aragonelessar, my old number was transferred to the new sim in 10min. Did it via chat and the chat person activated and transferred the number whilst we were chatting.

                .

          • @InspironN5110: Good to know thanks

          • +1

@InspironN5110: From previous post on deals, this is a very dangerous process because if something goes wrong your existing number will be lost for good.

            • @Homr: I didn't see any other posts, but I agree - they disconnected my wife's number immediately, and I had to chase them up to get it moved to the temp sim. Nothing happened for almost a day until I contacted them again.
When I did mine, at least my number was still active until I called them up again to move to the new sim, but for my wife's it was totally disconnected and the old sim deactivated.
I probably wouldn't do it again as it's hassle and stressful in the case of losing a number you've had for 15+ years.

  • +1

Dang, dropped from 280GB to 260GB…

  • is 5G included on boost ?

    • +1

      nope

    • Note sure about 5G, but I got 350Mbps download on Boost.

  • So what's the port to/from Vodafone for?

    • +1

if you are exising boost/telstra customer, you port to vodafone, then you become new customer of boost/telstra

      • Maybe there are two rules here with porting but I've been a boost customer for years now and used these sims to "Recharge" my existing , no need to port out and back in just get onto Boost chat helpdesk and they can make it happen.

      • Can you port back the same day or do you have to stay on Voda for a certain time period before porting back?

        • +1

I don't know if there is a requirement to stay with another provider for a certain length of time but I ported out and ported back in on the 4th day. It is a hassle free process provided you enter correct details such as your name, DOB etc.

      • What counts as an existing telstra customer? If I switch from boost to aldimobile (uses wholesale telstra network), will I count as a new customer when I switch back to boost?

  • Any expiry on the voda Sim?

  • 1 year

  • Can the SIM on this deal also get the extra data if activated before July 4: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/680659
I still haven't received mine after ordering on March 20 and it was meant to be activated before March 28 to get the extra data

    • bonus data extend to 24 july 2022. we use australia post and the item usally collected by australia post within one business day.

      • Great! Can you please check where is order 5208. It was shipped March 20 but still hasn't arrived. Tracking number is TMP1969000403004434748094

  • Anyone living around epping/wollert/craigieburn/mernda area who could tell how reception/phone network fairs compared to optus? I have been using optus for a while, have no issues (inside/outside house)but solely looking to change to save on bills. Thanks.

  • No 5G
    No International Roaming
Phillipines[sic] and Afganastan[sic] removed from unlimited free international calls

But THE BEST Network by far, would pay even more to stay with them

  • Thanks OP. Was waiting for this deal as the code SAVE75 mentioned on your site wasn't working on Telstra when I tried yesterday.

  • Anyone know when/if Boost is getting eSim?

    • Telstra have esim and we sell at similar discount.

  • Any chance there will be similar closer to July please OP? I don't need to recharge before then.

    • Buy now and use later?

  • Ordered, but stuck at payment.
Don't know what has happened. Either the transaction should go through or fail gracefully.
Paying via AMEX credit card, which is supported.
Don't want to refresh as the payment may be processed twice.

    • Also tried to allow third party cookies and retried - seems to get stuck.
      Browser is Chrome.
I might have been charged. Will have to check.

      • PM your order number, I help you check it.

        • Like I said, I click on Pay AU$151.00 after filling the credit card details, but it was stuck in an endless loop at payment.
It was processing, as seen by the grey button Pay AU$151.00 (I took a couple of screenshots).
After 5 min, closed the window, enabled third party cookies and tried again.
          Same result.

Thankfully, my credit card does not seem to be charged.

          • @darkmattersunB6c0MV: I paid with PayPal. Haven’t had any issues. Received an email from PayPal and two from ECWID aka SimsOnline.

            • @sween64: Thanks. I tried again, but no luck using my credit card.
Thankfully, there is another deal that came along.
I have ordered one from another deal, to check if it arrives on time. Going to order three more next month, if this goes well..

  • does this have wifi calling?

    • I believe boost telstra and boost long life sim will are selling this moment have wifi calling

    • Boost definitely does.

  • @simonline - how long do you take to send out your orders? If I order tonight - can I get the SIM by Friday (in Sydney) if I choose express?

    • Did you end up ordering with express delivery? How long did it take to arrive?

  • Is porting from aldi mobile to boost allowed and easy?

  • Can I port into Boost from Belong?

Or do I need to trf to another network before porting into Boost?

    • Yes, only boost/telstra considered as same network as they use same system. belong use different system.

  • Hi OP - any deals on 6 month prepaids?

  • Is the Vodafone $30 (for $3.02) still available - I couldn't find it.

    • Found it.

  • Paid express shipping was pretty fast and reasonably priced ($3). Received my sim next day.

  • +1

Just got mine today, thinking the better telstra coverage would be nice when out and about

well now im on 1 bar vs vodafone's full service at home
a blazing fast 0.4mb download LOL

  • Hi OP, can you use it recharge the previous prepaid boost, because i am looking port to kogan then port it back to boost. Is that possible?

    • after you port out to kogan, you are not boost customer any more when you port back to boost. so you are new customer that moment.

      • So you basically can't use this voucher to recharge to existing boost account?

        • I think you are difficult to "recharge" to boost number without porting to another provider first.
However, some users claim they can do via live chat. I can not confirm how much successful rate of that.

  • Their customer service is horrible.
No one ever answers the phone. Email with no reply.
I ordered Telstra $300 kit from them couple of months ago. The sim card is invalid when I tried to activated. Spent $240 for nothing.
Hope whoever purchasing from them gets valid sim cards. otherwise, good luck with their customer service.

    • I belive it has send to you. I will check my boss Monday when back to work.

  • @simonline If I order $200 SIM now, Can I get it by Wednesday (13/04)? I'm travelling on Thursday.

  • Thanks for posting. Ordered 140G/$200. Transferred from Aldi mobile today, took 5 (?!!!) mins to port over.
Tried international calling and quality is good.

  • +1

SIM arrived and activated without a hitch. Went from Telstra Prepaid > Optus Prepaid > Boost in under 30 minutes.

  • I'm currently on a Woolworths mobile long-expiry plan which is about to expire in 2 days. How could I keep my number and switch to this SIM card? I don't know a lot about this. Thanks

  • SIM card took 2 days to get to me. Came from Doncaster East utilising regular AusPost to outer suburbs of Victoria and I only ordered it Wednesday night.

From getting it out of my mailbox and being able to make calls it only took 30 minutes, mind you this was all during business hours. The 20GB bonus was applied during the setup process as well.

  • Hi Simonline, if I port my current boost number to Vodafone, shall I have to wait for 28 days or I can port the number back to boost earlier? Thank you
