This offer is for new Kogan Money Credit Card customers only and cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotions or offers. If you have previously held a Kogan Money Credit Card, you will not be eligible for this offer.

Not even a 12 or 18 month waiting period 😭

    • Yep this was one of the only card that didn't have a minimum term of applying period, there were people cancelling and applying straight away getting the bonus credit many times in a short period so they just changed the T & C so can only get bonus once.

  • Doesn't seem to say the minimum time after cancellation before you're eligible again

    • +2

      The answer is never.

      • Sorry I missed that, damn that sucks

        • +1

It sure does, they went from no wait period which was easy to abuse, to a full lockout. Shame as it's an easy bit of free money.

  • -8

    racist

    • context?

      • Bad joke

  • Dang that sucks. No defined waiting period at all.

    • +1

      More than dyson?

  • I have tried asking them by email during the last promo whether they ever plan to change the "new customer only" in the T&Cs to align with other companies that specify waiting periods…. I didn't receive a reply unfortunately :(

  • Comments = real MVP

It's actually from Citi bank. Not worth for the credit risk.

    • Coles cards are also from Citibank. What do you mean credit risk?

  • hmm interested..

Despite Kogan being a shitty company in general, I have the card and like it.

Any kind of rewards program on a no annual fee card is cool. I use the points occasionally for random small things like gifts and cleaning products

    • Good card easy credit, remember no Google pay as Citibank

  • +1

No samsung or Google pay. Which is a little annoying

  • Brilliant card, love it, best no annual fee card on the market IMO. Can easily enough find things to buy on Kogan through Ozb posts.

this seems like a great deal… until you go through the many frustrating hoops to cancel your card… then find out a month later they didn't cancel it after all.
    Kogan is the worst

    • As much as I hate Kogan I cancelled 2 cards from what I recall to be fuss free, 28 degrees were the jerks who kept my account open for years without me realising "in case I might want it later".
      P.s. Kogan sucks still.

    • I thought all card providers now must give option for customer to close account via online or app?

      • +2

why would you close if no Annual fee? enjoy kogan first forever…lol

        • +2

Maybe need to apply for mortgages

        • reason 1 is if you're applying for a mortgage, they treat your 20K or whatever limit as money you owe.

When they don't close it even though you asked it is a huge PITA because it can delay your mortgage application

    • Please elaborate. Did closure not work via app or online banking?

  • +1

The problem with the card is they charge a hefty international transaction fee. Just be careful and use it only on Australian business only.

  • For those interested, if you apply through finder.com.au, you can get 30 months interest free on balance transfers (but no Kogan credit).

  • Applied two days ago and got approved today.

    • I received the bonus $500 and cancelled the card yesterday. Time to churn another one.

  • I’m trying to work out what the $1500 spend catch is.

Just to confirm so long as you spend $1500 within 90 days you get a Kogan $500 credit? So I could use $500/mo and get it so long as before 90 days?

    • Correct, spend $1500 within 90 days anywhere and you will get the Kogan credit in your kogan account (if you already have one).

  • Any reason to keep my Citibank Rewards Visa Platinum credit card around if I sign up for this? I used to use the Citibank card while traveling, but I also have a 28 Degrees.

    • +1

Citibank is good only for sign up bonus like flybuys points or citi rewards points. After that I close it and open again in a few months to get sign up bonus again.

      • Just few months is enough ? Not 12?

        • +2

They technically have no exclusion period. You can call and confirm as well but nothing on the website.

  • How you guys planning to spend $500 Kogan credit?

I've only spent like $10 at Kogan over the years :/

    • Just get iphone

    • I need some hardshell luggage and electric bidet

  • Just wondering how would the card be attached to? I never have credit card outside the bank so not sure how would I pay or check transactions

    • +1

Not sure I understand your first question. To pay off the credit card bill, you can use Bpay. I use bpay to pay off all credit cards. To check transactions, there is Android/iOS app and can also check online via browser.

      • thanks, that helps a lot

        • Just think kogan as a bank.

  • Does anyone know if paying council rates fair game with Kogan cards?

    • +1

      I don't see why not

      • +1

Usually government spends are excluded for purpose of earning points. Ask customer care for clarity.

  • What is everyone's experiences with receiving the points after hitting the min spend? How long does it take for the credit to arrive in the account?

    • mine went in with kogan account linked after 10 days appro but they said it would be up to 10 weeks

      • How do you link your accounts?

        • It should be linked with the sams email when you applied the card

          • @BlackorRed: Cheers. I had to go to the web page not app and link the Kogan first membership. Now to hopefully get the points soon I made the spend on Tuesday.

            • @HereToSave: I received my first statement today and no bonus points yet.

I have confirmed via chat that I have hit the spend.

Will update my experience with how long it takes to get the extra points as I go

              • @eastmeetswests: Should be right. I’m only getting $400 though. I must have just missed this deal.

    • I got mine a week ago. Applied on the day I posted the deal. I had met the spending required within a month.

      • Can we meet the requirements by paying bill via bpay? What did you spend on?

        • Bpay i only use to pay credit card bills. Spend on normal everyday expenses.
