50% off RRP: Musashi Deluxe Protein Tiramisu 900g $25.99 C&C/ in-Store Only @ Chemist Warehouse

120

My fellow OzBargainers: I've been watching protein powder prices for a few weeks. This price seems most reasonable and it has a 4.7 star rating on the website.

I was waiting for 50% off all Musashi products so I could buy a 2kg tub. However, I'm not sure if we will ever see those prices in the future. So I will get this one instead of waiting for a few more weeks. If you're maintaining and not on a strict diet, this protein powder should suffice your needs.

  • Is this WPI?

    • +1

      No
Deluxe Protein Blend (93%) [Whey Protein Concentrate (69%), Whole Milk Powder, Emulsifiers (Sunflower Lecithin, Soy Lecithin)], Medium Chain Triglyceride Powder, Coffee Extract, Flavours, Vegetable Gum (Xanthan Gum), Vanilla Seeds, Sweetener (Sucralose).

That makes it seem better than it is.. This range tastes nice but you are getting crappy macros

        Tira is 61.5% protein.

You are only getting 20g protein in a 33g serve.

        ~14% sugar
        ~14% fats

Any decent protein powder has 80% or more

even if you used 200ml of full cream milk with WPI you would have about 7g fat and 10g sugar (lactose).

They seem to add a fair bit of weird stuff. E.g. MCT, Coffee extract etc which may have some benefit. But I think you are better of sticking to simple stuff and know what you are putting in your body from health/fitness perspective.

          • @gimli: Yeah, I am and I do 👍

Never tried the tiramisu flavour but used to buy the jam donut one…for the taste… I stopped.

Whey protein would be the unhealthiest thing in my diet, so I'm not doing too bad. It's just for convenience and I'm ok with it, when it's 80-90% protein content

I generally only mix with water & my milk is complete dairy, (hp/ls) better than the regular cow juice

            • @nismo: i used like the taste of bulk protein equivalent and i think there used to be aussie body poppers you could buy. (They had sugar rather than sweetener but at the time I was kinda underweight/during alot of endurance training so didn't mind the extra carbs).

They don't seemed to have the premade ones anymore

  • Been this price for a while. Got it myself and was not in love with it but tbh I'm not the biggest fan of tiramisu in the first place

    • What did it taste like

  • Whey protein with milk powder.
Better value to just buy regular whey protein powder, and mix with fresh milk.

  • Can anyone comment on the taste?

WPC & milk powder isn't a great protein mix… Wait till the Musashi 100% Whey is half price or better yet, consider the VitalStrength Pro-Muscle Plus, which uses WPI as its main protein source. These are the best options in this $25/kg protein range (when on sale).

  • My fellow OzBargainers, I've been watching protein powder prices for a few weeks… I was waiting for 50% off on all Musashi products so I can buy a 2 Kg package.

It wasn't that long ago it was half price. Probably be half price again next month

  • 61.5% protein isn't much chop in my opinion but each to their own..

  • Where are the good WPI deals at? Been waiting for a 3kg for $70 from amino Z but getting low…

  • This powder is absolute garbage, low protein content, high sugar and fat.
