This model is around 3 years old and was released in late 2019. However it is quite cheap, as it appears to still sell for $159 @ MobileCiti.

Spec wise: it is comparable to a Huawei Watch GT 2 with similar battery life of 2 weeks, 5ATM of water resistance, same-ish look and size.

  • The screen itself boasts a 1.39in (454x454, 326ppi) AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass

  • You can also choose from over 100 different faces in the app; from digital and sporty, to classic and analogue. The store is continuously updated with different options to choose from if you’re looking to switch things up regularly.

  • The Amazfit GTR can track 12 different exercise modes. These include outdoor running, walking, outdoor cycling, treadmill, indoor cycling, open water swimming, pool swimming, elliptical trainers, climbing, trail running, skiing and general exercise (such as in a class).

  • This watch comes built-in with a BioTrackerTM PPG optical sensor on the back, designed to offer accurate readings when it comes to heart monitoring. The high-precision GPS is able to track where you’re exercising and show a map of the route you’ve taken when you’re out and about.

  • Though this is billed as an everyday smartwatch, it does not possess the same capabilities that a higher-end model would. It doesn’t come with WiFi, a microphone to make calls or storage to download music or podcasts and listen via Bluetooth headphones. You can still remotely control music from your phone but you can’t listen directly on the watch.

    Thanks scrimshaw.

It's a decent watch for the price. My wife has had one for the past few years and still using it. I had the Stratos before changing to an Apple Watch.

    • I have one, its pretty nice.

  • With those specs and price. Seems like a great budget sports watch.

The equivalent branded (garmin/coros) sports watch would set you back more than $200. From reviews HR/GPS seem reasonably accurate but the build in apps are a bit slow/fiddly

Its a great basic smartwatch which does the job pretty well, and has a battery life of about 2-3 weeks on a single charge with normal use. Used it for 2 years.

Thanks op. Bought one with Cashrewards 6% cashback.

    Does not amaze me.

looking at the smart watch was not worth your time?

      • +1

Looking at the watch made me smart

    • +1

      but does it fit

  • What's a great upcoming new smartwatch to look out for?

    • +1

I have a GTS2 Mini which was like $130, I quite like that series and the bip. So maybe whatever the next variants of those are.

Also the mi band 7 looks like it'll be great for the (presumed) price.

  • I have used one of these the last 2 years mainly as a fitness tracker. For that it's great. GPS is good (if a little slow to acquire signal sometimes) and the battery life is amazing.

    • It is interesting you have had a good GPS experience with this watch, mine was awful. Would constantly find signal and lose signal, each time causing the watch to vibrate to inform me it had lost/regained GPS signal which eventually caused me to move on even though I liked a lot of other things about it

    • Interested in GPS function. Is it easy to record and download? What format of the file?

I've used this watch for over two years now, and still love it.

Best features are all of the free knockoff watchfaces, and phenomenal battery life.

It is definitely not a smartwatch in the true sense of the word though….is you can't install apps.

But at this price, it's a no-brainer for someone looking for a watch replacement with phone notifications.

IMO it has better styling than the subsequent Amazfit GTRs

  • Can a watch like this display turn-by-turn notifications sent from a nav app on a phone, like say Google Maps? I’m wondering if I could mount a smart watch on my motorcycle as a basic nav device.

    • +1

Using an app (Amazfit Tools…I think it costs a handful of dollars), you can configure it to show every notification your phone gets, or only ones from certain apps.

  • Looks good

  • 10% cashback via shopback? Is this considered a amazon device?

    • +2

Amazfit (watch manufacturer) has no association with Amazon.

      • The name confused me.

  • mi watch is newer and priced similarly, very smilar looking
gtr 2 is not that much more expensive either

    • +2

I like the styling of this one better than the GTR2 tbh

  • 47 mm, too big for me

On your wrist? I know it vibrates but it is not meant for any other purposes.

Looks at the app on Google Play - " Contains ads" - closes window.

Does this mean "advertises other services for the watch" or is your revolutionary freedom, as in Radio Caroline days, brought to you by 7-Up and Levi's?

  • Good for the price.

Quick review if anyone is interested.

  • Does this have option for always-on display to read the time? I have the older amazfit that does this and it’s amazing

    • Yes. If you turn the always-on display on, it will only last one week of battery life. And only two always-on watch-faces available.

  • +1

Shame no spo2 and no actual map on the watch

    • Dont see the point of spo2, im 99% o2 99% of the time…..

  • Battery life is stellar

  • Have been considering a smartwatch lately, seems like a good option to test if i actually like one

    • Got mine today, so far so good.
Only weird thing is it froze and rebooted when i was checking out the settings. When it finished i had gone from 800 steps to 37k :O

  • Can you reply to an SMS message from the Watch ?

    • No.

  • Is the deal applied for the Alluminium Alloy version as well?

Love that color and would definitely buy it at this price

  • Proof of battery life. I didn't wear it much in this time of course:

    I use this app:

    Great watch.

  • Coming up at $175 for me. Doing something wrong?

    • OOS

  • Showing as not available. May be already slod out.

  • i have one but the only features i like, call notifications including email, HR, finding mobile, weather. but for the price not worth it,
