@dcep: Well obviously it had taken them some time to get a foothold into the Australian market or they just weren't interested in it until relatively recently.
Staticice only shows a few stores in Australia selling Colorful RTX cards and they are not the bigger PC stores. It's not well known here.

There are a lot more skews now. Tis and Supers. There was a 1050, but no 2050. There is no 16 series equivalent for the 30 series.
It's RTX and 8GB. It's close to a 1070. I don't think it's quite the same thing as a 1050 2GB. The 1050 was nowhere near as good as the 770 for example, despite being two generations apart, like the 3050 and 1070 are. The 3050 also requires one 8-pin, and will not be available in low profile.
So regardless of the name, it's priced reasonably, at least it would be if it ever hit RRP. Of course some successors to the 16 series, and something priced below this would be nice. Wait for Intel or next gen I guess?
How's this compare to the RX 6600? Thinking to sell the one I just got in the recent deal for $469..
6600 is maybe <10% faster but you give up usable and better DLLS, RTX & NVEC codecs. Id go the 3050 over the 6600
Another thing is LOTS of 6600 get flipped for nVidia's and whys that? The 6600 are crash prone! Damned if I could fix it so I sent mine back. Not so any nVidia Ive used…. AMD has serious stability driver and hardware problems still as of this post.
ONLY upside is mining… you can mine on the 6600
Wonder what sort of frames this could do in a media PC outputting 4k at HDMI 2.1
My 4k set only does 60Hz but I have the Zotac version of this card and it's fine for 4k60 video.
Edit: Just realised you may have meant for transcoding? Couldn't tell you that, sorry. I stream from a NAS or on local storage so no transcoding required.
Nah I have a 77C1 that can do up to120fps at 4k and wondered what this could do for games at that res probably pushing it for a budget card anyway
Is it considered a new low when the AIB is inferior? It's price seems relative to better AIB's rather than a price drop.
Why 3050 needs 3 fans? Unnecessary while limiting the case it can go in.

It's the same design they have for the 3060 and 3060 Ti cards. Due to the low quantity of 3050s they probably figured it wasn't worth making an entirely new cooler.
