  • looks good, how much does it typically increase the coefficient of friction on a typical tile surface?

If you're in SE Qld, if you can't be arsed DIY, ask them for a quote.

I got Henk to quote & do the job. Came out..on time did a sample. Then came back the next day, again on time and did the job. I didn't even have to clean the outdoor tiles.

Before hand the kids & visitors would be slipping several times a week (the d.head who put the tiles in chose cheap ones around a pool). We had the treatment 6mths ago. We've had Christmas, NYE , Aust Day parties here, not one slip (kids from 3, disabled kids, teenagers running around and oldies in their 70's & 80's). Best thing being acid etched, the rain just washed it clean, but the tiles stay non-slip. No matter whether it was dew it 300mm+ rain in a day, the tiles just grip.

    Anyway that's my review.

Oh and the tiles barely changed colour…but that's why Henk offered a free sample, to see the colour change (if any) & to test the difference.

They did tiles for elderly relative in Brissie - did a great job, no more slips in ensuite.
Govt paid as was cheaper than cost of hospitalisation!

  • The brainiacs that owned my house before me put ceramic wall tiles on the bathroom floor. They're brittle (chip easily) and become incredibly slippery with the tiniest trace of moisture. OP, how much of an improvement to the slipperiness factor would this product make?

  • Why did this get so many upvotes if a similar product is cheaper @ Bunnings as mentioned in the 1st comment?

    • 8 up votes isn't so many😉

      Why I upvoted:
Not all anti-slip treatments are equal, but may seem similar. So difficult to compare only on price. Just because the bottle is the same size, are they equally effective to cover same area? And last the same number of years? A cheaper purchase may cost more over time.

Having had this product applied to tiled bathroom floor of elderly relative's home, I can vouch for this product's effectiveness. And it is still effective after many years.

Had asked around in aged care & this was only product recommended. One slip can mean loss of mobility & independence for an elderly person. Hard, wet areas like tiled bathroom floors are hazardous.

But, never tried the similar products. It's not a product most use more than once or twice - many years apart, to notice the difference.
