Hope this isn’t going to be too controversial.

From the NSW government website

Every child aged 5 to 11 who gets a COVID-19 vaccine at the Sydney Olympic Park Vaccination Centre between 1 – 18 April 2022 will receive a free children’s ticket to the Sydney Royal Easter Show for use at any time during the show (8 – 19 April, subject to capacity).

Consent is required from a parent or guardian at booking and at the appointment. If the parent or guardian is unable to attend the appointment, a nominated accompanying adult can be identified during the booking process.

    UK had it's highest recorded cases. Deaths for the week 5. Unfortunate as that is that is classed as statical noise.

    5-11 year Olds very rarely suffer any sort of symptoms.

    The "vaccine" which has been redefined to suit the COVID shot, does not stop or slow the spread.

    CDC has constantly lied, withheld data. Exp. 18-49 year old booster shot is minus efficiency.

    There is a chance 5-11 year old can get myocarditis.

    So tell me with a straight face why should 5-11 be so called vaccinated?

      Because the studies show these children are less likely to end up in hospital if they have been vaccinated.

      The CDC hasn’t lied; what we are, now, seeing is a different strain. What we don’t know is what the next strains will do. If we get a nasty one we may not have time to vaccinate children before it starts killing them in large numbers.

    Nothing against the OP, but I disagree with any government bribing parents to give children a vaccine that is proven to only have 12% efficacy against the target illness after two weeks. Esp when the vaccine is not yet time proven.
    And, before I get called and anti-vaxxer, I’m not. My family, inc 3 kids are all fully vaccinated against everything available in Australia (standard childhood immunizations, plus annual flu, meningococcal - all four main variants, etc etc) - even COVID- all except our 8yo.

          The COVID-19 vaccines are not immunisations. They prevent severe disease not catching COVID itself. So yes you can still catch COVID after getting vaccinated but your chances of dying or getting severe disease is dramatically lower.

          The other items you list are immunisations. I.e the body immune response actively prevents you from catching them.

    Pretty stupid promotion by NSW Gov though.
    Theres currently little to no effort required to obtain a vaccination currently (for any age group), and this serves very little in reducing that while adding a pretty sizeable weighting to the "why do they need to 'incentivise' it", "why are they bribing us to take it", "wont someone think of the children" opposing view (which isn't going to be changed for a kids show ticket worth ~$20)

    Ignoring the vax argument, let's look at the saving on this deal.

    Family pass to the easter show (2 adults, 2 kids) : $100
    2 adult tickets and 2 free kids with this deal : $80

    So for a family of 4 it's a saving of $20.

    It's up to each family to decide whether this is worth it. Personally no, because I don't live close to Olympic Park, and I wouldn't jab them and take them to the Easter show on the same day!

        I'm listening to experts who are looking at the stats, trained pediatricians (even in Australia, the top pediatrician recommended against it on live TV), the original inventor, physicians, cardiologists, Harvard professor of medicine… the list goes on!

        99.99987% survive COVID in 5-11 in US with 723,880 infections for that age group. Can you do math? That's 94 that have died that were 5-11, not FROM COVID, but from their comorbidity!

        TGA in Australia has reported over 600 cases of heart inflammation from the vaccine for under 17s, and you have the audacity to say "medical professionals" disagree with me? Sorry, I'm not making an opinion here, I'm not an expert, I'm listening to EXPERTS and I'm LOOKING at the stats.

        Ignorance of the highest order. Did you even read the vax efficacy for this age group? Useless!

        Anyone who disagrees with the above is spreading misinformation and is putting childrens' lives at risk, this is why Australia is putting 0-5 year olds on the vaccine injury list for when they make it available for an age group that has barely ANY deaths.

        BS. Every doctor and nurse in the country was sent a letter by ATAGI which says that if they do anything at all which goes against the vax rollout, they will be deregistered. Dr Mark Hobart is one example of that. He gave an exemption to one of his patients who was at risk of having serious side effects. He subsequently had his office raided by the government and was deregistered.

          Most people now have had COVID, and everyone in my circle said they rather get COVID than the flu, most recovered in 3-4 days, 50% vaxxed, 50% not. All the children that got COVID, (0 vaxxed) recovered within 2-3 days. Quite remarkable. I don't know how people are recovering so fast, when I got COVID, a few days, like I was back to normal, like a quick cold. When I got the flu, it knocked me out, 6-7 days terrible, then took a further week to be better.

    We seem to have people who think anecdotal evidence is more important than scientists and statistical data. Ya do wonder why people bother to do scientific studies, testing and gather information before going ahead with new treatments? We could just ask Steve down the newsagent how his mates are going. He's sure to have access to the latest scientific studies and understand what they mean.

    Frankly, when Covid started I thought:
    - it was a cold that would blow over - I was wrong.
    - masks weren't necessary - I was wrong.
    - that vaccination of young people shouldn't include AZ - I still think there is some justification for that.

    I'm not interested in some random You Tube video; scientific studies are published in scientific journals. Hundreds of millions of people, around the world, have been vaccinated. The studies show a, direct, correlation between negative effects and the vaccine are very low. The statistics that show that the vaccine reduces hospitalisation is shown by many studies in many countries around the world.

    We are still in learning mode with this one. We don't know what comes next. It might disappear or it might get worse. However, right now the scientists show that vaccination is best.

      "Medical professionals" and "scientists" follow guidelines set by the ministry and Government regulations and are told what to do and say. Real experts opposing these vaccines have been censored and silenced for "spreading misinformation", and then mandated to take the jab as per, for example, NSW Health mandates enforced by Brad Health Hazzard, who btw needs to be investigated and prosecuted. All it takes is a few corrupt and/or compromised politicians in Federal and State level to set the tone and it follows downstream. If you actually take the initiative and look at the data itself, released by the people pushing the vaccines, you will realize it is much less severe than influenza, especially these new strains. The whole thing is a scam and the longer time passes the more evident it becomes, even sheep like you will realize eventually, maybe by the 14th "booster".

        That's a pretty biased review/study.
        Almost all referenced articles seem to be showing reduction in contraction with close to 0 analysis or reference to studies showing any % reduction of an infected wearer spreading a virus (the main reason for basic surgical mask wearing)..

      It's not a vaccination as you still get COVID.

      Originally they advised one JAB, and you are safe. Then sorry not working, i mean you need a second jab,

      Show me the studies that state it reduces hospitalization????

      The people that were duped, are now deep down so embarrassed for being sheep they go hard at anyone else that has an opinion.

      No one has a right to force anyone to inject any type of vaccine in their body plain and simple.

    In the Pfizer trials, more people died in the vaccine group than in the placebo group, and it takes 22,000 vaccines to save one life from COVID.

    Check out the first 55000 pages of Pfizer data and there over 1200 side effects (9 pages -> page 30-38 in the report) they were aware of!

    Voting negative because it is encouraging kids to receive an unsafe, ineffective medical treatment which they categorically don't need. The vaccine clearly doesn't work as a vaccine i.e. providing sterilising immunity. The only argument I read now is "hi all, I've tested positive to covid and I'm feeling reeeally sick, but thank God I've had 2 doses of the vaccine and a booster, otherwise I'd be feeling even worse".

    There is no published evidence that the vaccine lessons symptoms of coronavirus infection. If you think there is - please link it to me here. In fact no studies have been done since the original flawed study by Pfizer, which we are now finding out about how bad the results from that study really were thanks to a judge in Texas ordering the company to release the documents pertaining to that trial (Pfizer had wanted to keep them hidden from the public for 75 years).

    The villainisation of unvaccinated people was a great crime. It smacked of the pharmaceutical companies trying to cover their tracks by abolishing any possible control group of unvaccinated people. Seriously, as soon as it became obvious that the vaccines were not sterilising and did not confer proper immunity, what justification was there for vaccine mandates? It should have been free choice to take it if you felt at risk, or not take it if you'd prefer to take your chances with the virus itself.

    I myself chose not to take it - at great inconvenience - and I still remain uninfected by covid. Meanwhile my sister did take the vaccine and then got covid a week later. Its almost like the vaccine made her MORE susceptible to the virus.

    Please oh geniuses, please tell me why the virus hasn't "sought out the unvaccinated" like myself, despite living smack-bang in the middle of inner west sydney, and going out every day to the gyms the markets on public transports everyday, never wearing a mask, never washing my hands?

    The vaccine doesn't work. Straight up. C'mon, if you deny it - you're a moron. And kids are at zero risk from covid. Kids should definitely not under any circumstances be taking a treatment they don't need, because it hasn't been studied adequately. It needs years and years more of rigourous study. But it doesn't even work anyway. So it should be removed from the market. Seriously.

      You're claiming, for all age groups, the vaccine has no impact or effectiveness in reducing the impacts of covid?
      No lessening of severe illness, hospitalisation, ICU or death?

      C'mon, if you deny it - you're a moron

      if you say so. Broad brush analysis of worldwide cases would seem to contradict your statements

      If you're applying that analysis to just the age groups targetted by the deal, then that would be a different and less 'absolute' statement

        If it works we would see numbers that show cases, hospitalisations and deaths dropping as vaccine uptake increases.

        Instead we see all cause mortality and cases increasing as vaccine uptake increases. These are publicly available stats for most countries.

          that shows % of infections to severe cases, hospitalisations, ICU and deaths dropping with regards to vaccinated vs unvaccinated populations/groups
          which is the case…

          feel free to show 'publicly available stats' for most countries that shows an either equal or increase in % of infections resulting in hospitalisation, ICU and deaths has risen within the vaccinated vs unvaccinated groups.

          Even SlavOz posts articles and references that support that (even if its only because he didnt read past the headline)

          As i said above, absolute terms, the statement is incorrect if you're applying it to all age groups

      Same, i work on building sites all of Sydney and have never got it, everyone i know that works with me or friends and family that are jabbed up have all got covid ??

      Strange or a coincidence ?
