  I only just realised most of the 3060 posts are for a 12gb card.

  How would this stack against an 8gb 6600 xt in terms of game longevity?

  Obviously discussions on previous posts were saying the 6600 xt is slightly better, but I assume the 3060's technology fits a few more games better and the extra 4gb would help if you wanted to play newer games on lower res/detail but still have some breathing room?

    my 2cents is you are unlikely to find a game which uses more than 8GB VRAM on a RTX3060 and still maintain decent enough performance —— put it this way, RTX3070 with 8G VRAM still beats 3060 in every way.

    just buy with consideration of features + performances for the game you play, straight ignore VRAM altogether.

    AMD: RSR- driver level super sampling, so you can basically use it to boost framerate in every modern game (UI element might be slightly blurry), hackintosh compatible
    Nvidia: better raytracing (with the big performance hit and 3060 is not even that good in performance), DLSS, CUDA for scientific calculation etc.

        I'd choose 6600 XT over a 3060 8 days a week.

  I bought one of these the other day to upgrade my sons pc (R5 2600, RX570).

  I have a R5 3600 from my system that will go to upgrade his CPU as well,

    Read elsewhere the 6600 xt is still a stronger card and uses almost half the power.
