  • how much better are these than the p17 + fosi amp combo?

    • IIRC the P17s are passive R1380Ts, so they'll probably sound a little better than these.

  • Are these good to use at a PC? Or should i be looking at elsewhere in the Edifier range? Was looking around the $200 budget.

    • I have the previous gen and they're pretty good for the price, just use optical input for best sound quality. Obviously not the same bass as a 2.1 system, but you can add a sub later if you think it's necessary

    • I have these hooked up to my PC with a subwoofer. Blows me away for gaming and movies.

  • I was thinking of getting these to use with the Pioneer DDJ-SB3 that I bought from a recent deal. Anyone have any view on whether they would give a decent enough sound.

The use would only be messing around at home and nothing serious in terms of pumping out significant volume.

You'll definitely get "decent" sound from these, but like you say, nothing too loud. I'd keep these for near field listening.

I am having the same dilemma as you are having bought the same unit in the black Friday sales and missed out on these speakers last time round.

Only need them for bedroom/office study use and for messing around mixing tunes whilst I head into my mid life crisis phase reminiscing at missing out at being a worldwide supersonic DJ which was clearly my alter-egos destiny.

I don't want anything too big or cumbersome but want them to produce a clear sound with some bass rather than a loud sound to fill out a large room.

One good thing about buying from Amazon is a very easy returns process. Could be worth giving it a go and returning if not quite to your liking.

Is there a good value sub that pairs with this?

    • +1

It really depends on your budget and space. I paired these with a Q Acoustic 3060S for the form factor. Slots right in behind the desk and fills the room well.

  • Should I buy these for my sony pslx310BT or the r1700bts

  • I'm fairly sure the previous version of this model just has a crappier controller. Still the same speakers.

They were for sale a few months ago out of a warehouse in Springvale for, don't quote me but I think, $69?

Other OzB'ers can probably confirm the price as it was posted here.
